The time has come...

I like her because she’s always true to herself. She’s not afraid to be who she is, she’s outspoken and talented. It’s not easy to remain an authentic person when you’re in Hollywood but through it all, the praise and the critics, she’s managed to keep on laughing and live her life. She’s also big on pushing boundaries and creating positive change.

Jennifer Lawrence was like watching somebody who has talent dripping off of their hands. She was 21 years old and she just has all this talent. We'd been shooting for like two weeks and she came on and I remember David O.Russell and I looked at each other after the first take and being like "oh my god". And she got his rhythm really fast and she's so smart and understands story and everything. And then to just watch her grow and watch someone skyrocket. Because Hunger Games hadn't come out yet, but she had shot the first one. And then she and I did a movie right after that called Serena and we were in Prague together and it still hadn't come out yet. And then watching the character she created in American Hustle and then to take a whole movie on her shoulders in Joy, you know it was really incredible.

Jennifer Lawrence, because of her unapologetic honesty and confidence whilst still revealing her flaws but being ok with them. I think that's something we need to have more of. Women that aren't perfect, and that's why they're celebrated. They're celebrated because of their fun quirks and not because of the filters they put on their photos.

I just received a draft of the screenplay the brilliant Vanessa Taylor wrote for us. When I get back from Europe I'll immerse myself in reading it and adding notes. And Jennifer Lawrence just got engaged! I did not know that was gonna happen!

Jennifer has been added as a speaker at the 2019 Unrig Summit in Nashville, TN, March 29-31.
