A much-needed hug

On their walk through the forest to Camila's house, Luz, still in shock, tries to joke with a devastated Amity. She holds her hand and murmurs about how this is totally not how she imagined introducing Amity to her mom but that's life, constantly throwing ya curveballs, huh? There's a bitter strain to Luz's attempt at laughter.

Meanwhile Amity can't even muster a fake smile. She knows it's stupid, so so stupid but on top of being torn away from her home and family, now she's about to meet her girlfriend's mom and she's had no time to plan for any of it. She knows meeting Luz's mom is the least important part of all of this and she shouldn't feel like crying over it not going the way she wanted it to go but...

Amity's autism brain is having a little bit of a crisis because all this stuff has been thrust on her so suddenly and its overwhelming. She wants to have a meltdown right here and now but she's trying to hold it together. Her grip on Luz's hand tightens.

Camila does not hug Luz right away, as she notices from the moment she sees those five kids on her doorstep that it's time for action first and reunions later. She ushers them into her house and patches them up, dresses them, feeds them and prepares the Den for them to sleep.

Her meeting Amity is kinda lost in the hustle of everything else. The mood doesn't really allow for an awkward adorable cheesy mom meets girlfriend scene but Camila is told about their relationship and she smiles warmly and takes a moment to welcome Amity into her home, before she needs to deal with other matters. Amity is honestly relieved that it wasn't a huge thing. If it was gonna be a huge thing, she would have liked to prepare for it.

Once things have settled and all the kids have been tended to, Camila finally finds a moment to approach her daughter and hug her tight. And Luz just. Breaks. She had been doing a really good job of holding herself together but this is her mom. There is no way Luz would have been able to stop herself from crying several months worth of tears once she's wrapped up in her mama's arms. She missed her. And she messed up so bad and she lost everything. But she missed her mom so much and she never wants to let go. She can't let anyone else go.

Amity doesn't want to insert herself into this moment. It's very clearly between Luz and Camila. But listening to Luz's pained helpless sobs hits her hard. There really is nothing they can do, is there? She sees Luz holding on to her mother for dear life and she thinks about her Dad. How she barely got a moment to say goodbye to him before she was hustled away. How she had spent years living together in that house, feeling like total strangers to each other. How she had felt so optimistic about how they were finally beginning to mend their relationship. How he loved her. This whole time he loved her. And now she doesn't know if she'll ever see him again. She thinks about her brother and sister and how she didn't get to say goodbye. They're alive, she knows they're alive because they didn't have sigils. But are they alone? Did they find Dad? Are they wondering if she's alive?

Amity spirals horribly. Willow comfort her as best she can but it's hard being a helpless kid comforting another helpless kid. They're all scared and nothing Willow can say will truly convince Amity that she's not drowning right now.

Luz cries herself to the point of dehydration. She is physically unable to cry anymore. When Amity sits down beside her and cuddles up against her arm, Luz feels wretched. She wants to scream but she can't. And here's Amity, with her exhausted eyes still gazing at her with so much love and Luz wants to tear her own skin off. She fell in love with this girl and she dragged her through her own mess and now she's doomed her to this fate.

But Luz can't possibly say that. Maybe because the magnitude of everything she's done is too heavy for her voice to even manage. She doesnt have the words. And she can't drag Amity down any further than she already is. She can't upset her. She can't. Amity wants her loving girlfriend right now and Luz will give Amity anything she wants. She holds Amity tight and she won't let go. She won't let anyone else go.

Amity holds Luz's cheek. "We'll take this one day at a time." She promises and Luz's throat burns.

Luz lulls Amity to sleep by promising that she'll get her mundane slice of life date, that Edric and Emira will totally tease her about it but its okay because the date will be so cheesy and cute and memorable that she won't care. She keeps talking about seeing Ed, Em and Alador again but she can't bring herself to promise that she'll find a way home. She's promising it to herself but she can't say it out loud. She can't risk breaking a promise to Amity. It doesn't feel like she's telling lies but more like fairytales.

Luz and Amity love fairytales with happy endings. Whether they still believe in them anymore, they're not too sure.

Luz lays awake and lets herself be gnawed apart by fear and guilt and mourning. She spends hours thinking about King and Eda and the Boiling Isles. She listens to Hunter and Willow and wishes she had Willow's strength and Hunter's optimism. She listens to the two of them cry their bleeding hearts out and she wishes she hadn't ruined their lives. She wants her family back. She feels like a little kid for wanting so much, in spite of all her guilt, but she does anyway.

Amity probably sleeps better than anyone else but that's not saying much. Due to the fear and anxiety, she winds up stirring awake at maybe 6am-7am. Way earlier than her internal clock usually allows. This is around the time that Luz actually drifts off for an hour or two.

She feels a hollowness in the pit of her stomach. Everyone is still. She is entirely alone. So, Amity regains some grip on the situation by having some time to herself to process everything. Plus now she has a quiet moment to really plan things over. She focuses on the small things to keep herself grounded. Luz's mom. She can now plan her formal introduction to Luz's mom. And once Camila comes downstairs, Amity has already prepared the script in her head of what she's going to say and it goes perfectly. Camila is so impressed with her. It really improves her state of mind, as in its a welcome distraction. She throws herself into the task of helping with breakfast and takes it deathly seriously. It's time to bond with Camila while also making her feel like she has control over something.

After class, Mondo was at your home

And you asked him if he really loved you

He was very surprised by the question

So he just embraced you

And he whispered something that made you cry out of pure happiness

“s/o… I fucking love you, so much. You have no idea how much I love you. Even if you don’t believe me. I’m just so glad of having someone so wonderfully strong as you. I just, love you.”

Then he started peppering your face with kisses while complimenting you after each kiss

You were surprised by how such meaninful words could come out of a biker gang leader

Compared to Kiyotaka, Leon is never afraid of showing affection to you

The moment he met you, he fell in love with you

For trash someone like him, it was easy for him know someone’s personality

And your cheerful nature on the outside, gave him the sensation that something was happening to you on the inside

So when you two started dating, he proved his theory right

It worried him a bit that you were so closed about your negative feelings

So he asked you about it, one day

You were at Nagito’s room, cuddling

When he asked something that alarmed you

Immediately, tears started froming in your eyes

And you hid your face in his chest

This is the reaction he hoped to get away from you

He knows you compressed your emotions too much

And that you just needed to let go

Nagito shushed you while whispering sweet nothings to you

Some of them about your beauty, some of them about how much he loved you

And sometimes he didn’t even talk, and just placed a random kiss on your hair

You cried yourself to sleep, but you didn’t feel sad or alarmed anymore

He started to be more cautious of what he says

He was worried sick about what you had told him

This made you feel strange

He was usually so carefree around you, now he was worried about everything related to you

He doesn’t say anything, he’s afraid of what will come out

“Heh. I knew it.”

He was confused by your statement

“You must think I’m so stupid that you’re so scared of me screwing things up and you must watch over me all the time. Sad, isn’t it?”

And you started sobbing

Not loudly, but it was hurful for Kazuichi nontheless

He felt the tears that started running down his cheeks

And pulled you for a hug

He just started whispering that he loved you, and how wonderful you were

Even with the thought of him protecting you just because he thought you were stupid

A part of you though he just wanted to protect you because he loved you

You were relieved to know he really did love you and you had nothing to worry about

With a soft smile, you whispered a “thank you” to him

Kazuichi stopped talking for a moment, and kissed you lovingly

I see no objective in you speaking in such a cold-blooded manner to yourself. So I will just continue to comply to your wishes and stay by your side whenever you need it the most, my beloved.”

You were speechless

You had no idea Gundham was capable of such beautiful talk

So, with tears dried and a full smile, you embraced him

Whispering how much you thank him for loving you

Korekiyo Shinguuji

As much as the human body in general enticed Korekiyo

And he did love your stunning body

But your personality, being what standed out the most for you

Was just as charming

And that’s what made you a perfect human specimen for him

When he noticed about your low self-esteem
