Considering Omar Jimenez was arrested when literally politely asking cops what he should do, the idea that peaceful protesting would fix anything is ridiculous. The cops blatantly lied about his reason for arrest too. The whole fucking thing was caught on camera and they still claimed he had to be arrested because he “wouldn’t move”, which makes no sense in the first place but is even worse considering he was asking where he should move and didn’t get an answer.
That reporting team and others have been kettled live on camera multiple times now. Kettling is when cops form walls in front of and behind protesters, tell them to "move back" when they have nowhere to move back to, and then attack them for "resisting orders" when the orders were impossible to comply with. The sticky situation that you can see is that the capitalist guard dogs know they're on camera, and they glance stupidly at each other in silence because they don't know how to make those lies look real on camera, but they roll with them anyway because enough people are still complacent enough to trust what they're told before trusting what is actually in front of them. It's easier to see when there is aerial footage, which has been caught a couple times by citizen's who have remote drones w cameras over diff locations, because cameras on the ground can understandably only get one eye-level angle at a time. Remember, if they're telling these lies when you can SEE what they're doing, you have to assume that the reality is much worse when the cameras aren't there.
