Hypergirly Media Supremacy!!!

One woman was forced to be a mother (even if she did come to love that child), and was able to see that whole experience through to the end. The other wanted to be a mother more than anything, and had that ripped away from her when it had barely begun.

And of course, we have Gumina and Maylis, who by their expressions, look the most out of it. Of the 4 girls in the main cast, they are the two who were fully under the brainwashing from their abduction all the way to their liberation after the spell was fully broken via the death of Sateriasis. Admittedly I can’t think of much to say for Maylis outside of that, mainly cause I feel like the novel doesn’t give her as much in comparison to the rest 😭 (tho if anyone notices something I missed, feel free to add to this analysis), but I feel like I can say something about Gumina. It’s no wonder that her being the one in an embrace with Sateriasis is in reference to her obviously being the one he truly loves and their shared history. Tbh, what I’m about to say may sound like I’m over analyzing and honestly it might be but I’m still going with it. But despite how out of it she seems, and despite him obviously holding her in that embrace, her seemingly fully leaning into the embrace and her hand slightly curling ever so slightly into his coat almost reads to me like a subtle nod to her throughout the story clinging to her memories of and true feelings for Cherubim, Sateriasis’ past and true self, even while fully under the effects of his brainwashing. And this kinda extends to her complicated feelings of grief once the spell breaks and she’s left to mourn Cherubim and her now complicated affections for him despite the fact that she could barely even remember who he was before he truly became a monster.

When it comes down to it though, a huge part of Venomania as a character is that no matter how gently or how harshly it was delivered to him, he ultimately could not handle rejection, leading him to the vile things he did in the story, even before he had completely lost himself into arrogant self delusion and completely monstrosity. Where Venomania couldn’t handle rejection, Rajih represents acceptance. Its left up to interpretation whether Lilien ever reciprocated his feelings before being brainwashed but that doesn’t take away from the fact that throughout the manga, he sees Lilien falling for Sateriasis, therefore making him perceive his own feelings as unrequited, and yes, he is implied to feel jealous and hurt, but despite all that, his actions are all motivated by genuine care for Lilien rather than bitterness. Rajih was able to see that the woman he loved romantically likely didn’t feel that way about him and still cared about her as a person and as his friend, respecting her autonomy and feelings as a human being. Sateriasis ultimately did not, (even if he had genuine feelings beyond lust for her) not with Gumina, and not with any of the women who were his victims.

And now I really wanna see the gluttony arc adapted into a spanish telenovela where Banica speaks in that extremely dramatized version of the castillian accent the way you see it in media. (Honestly I could see many european spanish accents and dialects fitting Banica but for this, I need it to be castillian because thats the accent most commonly used in media and I need it to be as dramatic as possible)
