What are the best stony comics to read?β€
hi!!!! ok so these are my personal favourites for stevetony comics:
avengers primeΒ β this exists bc bendis said and i quote: βthey need to go out and have an adventure together to remind them why they love each other so much.β and that is exactly what happened
captain america and iron man: one night in madripoorΒ β its like date night but for superheroes
captain america: man out of timeΒ β steve adjusting to the future, tony takes him on a date to the museum
1872Β βhonestly one of my fave universes for stevetony. its the wholeΒ βsteveβs death is the shrapnel in tonyβs heartβ thing that does it for me
new avengersΒ (2005) β steve and tony reform the avengers!!!!!!! one of my favourite lineups ever but i would stop when it begins to tie into civil war
fallen son: the death of captain america β steve is dead, tony mourns
what if? fallen son β like the one above but in this scenario, tony is dead. steve receives a letter from tony and honours it
civil war: casualties of war β in my honest opinion this and the confession are the only things you need to read from civil war era. idc how much ppl like angst, civil war was just written horribly and no one should have to go through that
civil war: the confession β like i said, read this and casualties of war and that is enough of civil war
individual issues that i like:
avengers (2013) annual #1 β this is captain handsome ordering you to rock n roll on that 45 ... enough said
avengers (1998) #70 β iconic red zone kiss
avengers endless wartime β good morning beloved
magneto: not a hero β steve and tony teasing each other abt safe words like the freaks that they are
others aka comics that i hesitate to rec but i feel like i should bc of how popular they are:
hickmanvengers β hear me out, i know this is one of the most recommended runs for stevetonies out there but the fallout of their relationship in this .... its so bad like no amount of angst is worth the irreparable damage done to their relationship. this run and civil war are the reasons why steve and tony are constantly being written as if they cant stand each other and i really do. not like that. that being said, itβs a really good comic story in GENERAL but not for stevetony
civil war ii: the oath β itβs kinda like the reverse confession but this gets a spot on this list bc it makes me feel disgusted that itβs hydra!cap saying this to comatose tony .... like itβs seriously so gross but there are really iconic and memorable quotes from here so do with that what you will (plus its only a one shot)
secret empire #6 β hydra!cap again :/ but this is the issue where ai tony is apologizing to hydra!cap for not being able to save him and where he tells him that hes his hero. it makes me so sad but again. hydra!cap
