Based on the true story, DeepWater Horizon is well cast, well acted, and thoroughly gripping from start to finish. For fans of big action pieces, strong dramas, and standard disaster flicks this one definitely doesn't disappoint. SPLIT was the long awaited return to form for director M Night Shyamalan. As well as backdoor sequel to my favorite M Night Flick, the movie features great performances and creates an eerie atmosphere of uncertainty before finally releasing the real monster of the movie. A little lesser KNOW than the previous movies, Deathgasm is hardcore metal and gore mania. Filled with laugh out loud moments, decent acting, B-Grade special effects, and a kickass soundtrack. This movie is destined to be a cult classic in a few years and is sure to get some chuckles from fans of such products as Spinal Tap, Tenacious D, and Steel Panther. I'll be the first to tell you, I LIKE these movies. Except for maybe Tokyo Drift. But I love the feeling that cast are friends, they have a sense of family, and that for the most part they ENJOY making these movies. F8 lacked in that department for me a little. The action was still great, the performances were still fine, but it shows that Vin and Paul were the heart and soul of this franchise and you really feel the soul missing from this one. Still a passable action flick but just not the same.
