In this piece, Acconci sat underneath the gallery floorboards and masturbated while making erotic noises into a microphone that were then broadcasted through speakers into the gallery space as patrons walked on the floor above him. There’s more I could say about this piece, but I’ll just let y'all reflect on that for a bit.

III. Using my wet body: shifting around on the sand , letting the sand cling to my body.

sitting in front of a camera, acconci performed a series of contorted poses and bit into his arms, legs and shoulders, resulting in impressions of his teeth left on his skin. he then covered these marks with printers ink and used them to stamp various surfaces, illustrating the bodies attack on itself while also criticizing the social institutions of art and the economy.
