→ Background

Lara moved to Baberton when she was ten, with her mother. Her father left when she was a baby so it was always just her and her mother. They were very close, up until Lara was nineteen, when her mother died suddenly from a heart attack. It was incredibly unexpected and the ambulance didn’t get to their home in time to save her. Lara was devastated. Her whole world changed and she was suddenly thrust into the world on her own. She faltered at first. She didn’t know what to do or how she would make it in the world without her mother. She felt far too young to lose her beloved mum and she just didn’t know how to get over it. However, Lara soon realised that her mother wouldn’t want this to ruin her. She wouldn’t want her to spend her life miserable due to the loss and she pulled herself out of it, though she was still hurting, and Lara found herself a job in town, to pay the bills so that she could keep the home she and her mother lived in since the last thing she wanted to do was lose it and all those memories.

Lara recently stepped up when Grant Woods left town to move to Spain with his wife Jenna, and she took over management of his restaurant, Spice. She’s worked there for years, starting at the very bottom as a cleaner, and now she basically runs the place day to day. She’s glad Grant left because he could be a very loud boss and even though she has to still kind of be in touch with him since he’s still working somehow from so far away, Lara finds this much better and the atmosphere when she’s working is more relaxed. When she isn’t working, Lara does her best to ignore all the crazy stuff going on in town. The murders. It’s scary, knowing that somebody you know (or even yourself) could be the next victim of the serial killer who has been plaguing the town for a long time (though the story is that there are two of them, but Lara doesn’t know how realistic that really is). Lara doesn’t really know anybody who died but her friends Diana Porter’s sister Alicia and Ellie Pierce’s sister Ophelia, and cousin Annie, probably count by association.

She likes to socialise and make friends, but Lara tends to avoid situations that involve alcohol as she gave up drinking quite a little while ago. Lara also enjoys running and keeping fit at the gym, and she can be found running on nice days, and then having a good session at the gym more often than not. She’s a person who likes to keep busy and moving and she prefers the people she spends time with to be of the same kind of mind.

After her mother died, Lara got very down and ended up going on a bit of a bender. She got very drunk and a little high one night and she ended up stealing her friends keys and taking off secretly in her car. Lara then crashed it into a stop sign and drove away. The stop sign being knocked down caused a horrible accident later that night, involving the friend she’d stolen the car from, and another friend, who were killed instantly when they drove into another car when they didn’t stop at the sign. She blames herself every day and lives in fear of someone finding out she’s the one who left the car on a random road and caused people to die in that ‘tragic accident’.”
