Snackr for iPhone Review

Fortune reported a research paper by Katy Huberty of Morgan Stanley where she raised AAPL's projections from $515 to $720. She noted that for a bull case, it is possible for AAPL to hit $960 and for a base case, it will be $405.

Her reasons for such valuation:

1) Enterprise tablet adoption combined with demand upside from lower-priced iPad.

2) iPhone estimates don’t credit Apple for the potential share gains when it launches an LTE-capable device in 2H12.

3) China and other emerging markets, like Brazil, remain huge untapped markets.

Well, OMGPOP is back in my radar again. When I was 10, which dates back to about 4-5 years back, I was a huge fan of "Hover Kart Racing", a popular OMGPOP game. Flash was everything we had then it was awesome (NOT). Till HTML5 came to introduce itself, we're not here for that so let me just skip the tech terms part.

Basically to summarize everything, Hover Kart Racing had awkward controls, slow running servers and after some time crashing browsers because the Flash isn't able to free up RAM (yes, Flash Player takes up RAM until you quit an application). The whole idea of Hover Kart Racing was great, except one thing, user experience. For that I can't blame that as web technologies were limited.

The "Draw Something" era:

Yes, I have gotten "The New iPad" but first, let's have a quick rundown of the Specs

From our previous post on the announcement of the iPad 3, iMore has reported with the same source that confirms that the announcement will be on the 7th of March ahead of Apple's official announcement. While there are some sources pointing towards LTE 4G to be kept for the release of the iPhone 5 in the months to come.

Despite recent uncertainty about the process, iMore is also still hearing that the iPad 3 will ship with a quad-core processor. We’ll find out one way or another on Wednesday.

World's Youngest iPhone Developer: Lim Ding Wen [INTERVIEW]

I sincerely apologize for the lack of video, there was an issue with it last minute which explains the late upload. I would definitely do another interview with him soon and hopefully we're able to see him in action!

In this video, I have the honor of interviewing Lim Ding Wen, the World's Youngest iPhone Developer, who at an age of 9 has already developed his first app "Doodle Kids". CNN International also labels Ding Wen as Singapore's "icon of cool" and one of the reasons what makes Singapore the greatest city. We also have a sneak-peak on what he probably has in mind to work on. 

He has been pretty inactive due to his preparation of the Primary School Leaving Examinations(PSLE) which is an examination to proceed to Secondary School (High School equivalent) from Primary School (Elementary School equivalent).

As there are already sufficient interviews out there detailing the history of him jumping into the iPhone Development world, I've decided to do more interviews with him on what his working on and how he balances programming and school work together.

Look at the vast difference, even the people at MySpace spend more time than people on Google+. 2 days ago we looked at my experience of the new photo social network Pinterest. Some may say, why do people spend more time on Pinterest than on Twitter? Because most of the stuff that we do on Twitter takes place off-Twitter. Thus explains it. Why does Pinterest have equal number of time spent together with Tumblr? Because the whole notion of "reblogging" is present in both social networks, while Pinterest "re-pins" and Tumblr "reblog"

However, we love our Google fans too, so while this stats may sadden or make you skeptical, Mike Elgan has his own view; which I feel that there's a perspective we are not looking at here.

He makes a good point, in showing that the people who have Google+ splits up into two categories; Users and Non-Users.

Let's say for the sake of argument that 100 million people have signed up for Google+ and that on average they use the service three minutes a month.  That means there are 300 million man-minutes of Google+ use per month.  One possibility is that 100 million people are each using the service for 3 minutes a month.  Another possibility is that 1.25 million users are using Google+ eight hours a day, seven days a week, and the rest are never using it.  That's the range of possibility. There are somewhere between 100 million and 1.25 million actual users, and somewhere between zero and 98,750,000 non-users. This is what comScore's results tell us.  See how meaningless it is to average users and non-users without knowing how many of either?  The reality is almost certainly that there are tens of thousands of people like me who use Google+ seven days a week, more than 12 hours per day. That number is growing.  There are tens of thousands more who use it every day, for 8 hours or more. That number is growing.  There are millions of people who use Google+ as much as the average Facebook user does. That number is growing.  And the majority of people who have signed up never use the service. That number is also probably growing. 

Apple just sent sent out invitations to an event next Wednesday at Yerba Buena Center for the Arts in San Francisco. 

It's all confirmed now. Apple will unveil the iPad 3 on March 7. The event is due to begin at 10 a.m. Pacific Time (1 p.m. ET).

I am very, very excited for the announcement of the iPad 3. Any predictions? Leave it in the comments below!

UPDATE: Some sites are actually claiming that from the picture above, the home button may go missing in the iPad 3, from the hints we got when the developers got custom gestures, it'll be something nice to look out for, will Apple move the the home button-less approach? Only time will tell!

UPDATE 2: 

 Gizmodo sure seems to think so:

“Not only that, but there seems to be NO home button, which explains the mention of the “And touch.” in their invitation. How can we know? First, the photo they are showing is on portrait mode. You can’t achieve that icon spacing in the landscape mode (which is the only explanation for the lack of home button).

Moreover, the icon falls right onto the same water drop that the current iPad 2 falls while in portrait mode. The same happens with the reflection on the dock.”

While some of us think that the iPad will seriously have no home button, some people are skeptical about it, claiming that it is perhaps hidden behind the user's hand or the iPad is in landscape mode.

Maybe we are all thinking too much into an advertisement. As MG Siegler says, it's too much for Apple to leak a major design change ahead of the annoucement.

Think I like about this app is that you can see what's happening nearby with the map displayed and how it unifies "checking in" in various service, which is one thing I like about this app.

Pinterest has most certainly got a lot of attention for the past week, I finally got my invite to Pinterest just yesterday, and I'm doing my first 24 hours experience of using this app itself.

It takes time!

The initial experience was really confusing to be honest, it looked alot like Instagram; something I use almost everyday. And it also had this StumbleUpon element to it. It took me some time to figure out it's concept behind this highly acclaimed app that everyone is talking about.

Flickr Removes "Pinning"; and what it means for me

While I am an active user of Flickr, the move by Flickr to remove the ability to "Pin" on copyrighted material or otherwise protected. This isn't a huge blow to me personally as I understand how precious these photos are, and how "Pinning" has brought to photographers concern about the ease of Pinning and re-pinning by others.

It's actually nice to see that Pinterest in doing something about it, they allow complains on their site if you see an infringed photograph, they have also made code available to prevent pinning so that website owners can prevent pinning.

Conclusion:

Although it was hard to get in the first place, this app is definitely made to please for the "shareholics" out there. The joy of pinning your favorite photographs on a virtual pinboard; is just pure pleasure. Right now Pinterest is in private beta, click here to request an invitation
