Lander Rha, Map progression. (2013 - 2024)
So here it is! Lander Rha, mostly. Lander would be continent itself, Rha is then everything else, the islands beyond Lander's coasts, the ones known and those still not on the maps, the magic realms of infinite space and the strange homes of witches and spirits moving on weird time, although some would object to this. The term Rha, works better and began as the description of those magic spaces, to name the places where a person would be Spirited away upon getting lost, to these lands beyond normal understanding. But if that's Rha and Lander is the continent, what is the Allatok Archipelago to the west? What about the island to the southeast? They are certainly not Lander. "They are Lander!" would some locals say, getting called Rha just feels like belittlement, as if their lands were some unknown mythical place and they were fairy tales although some certainly do enjoy the extra flare that brings. But accepting them as being Lander is still not to widespread, the conventional knowledge is too strong, Lander is obviously the continent or just this huge island, everything else are little other islands whose names we can't really bother to learn! Therefore Rha. And thus, the use of the composed name of Lander Rha, stays. -------------------------------------------------------- On a more meta side, This is the progression, not in order but I hope it is not too difficult to figure out anyways. The first one is this one made in RPG maker, I couldn't just make the game (however small I wanted it to be) without knowing the general shape of the continent so I used most of my drive that time on that. The second one is this Satellite-like one, made along the first years of the TTRPG, using a certain tutorial from the Cartography Guild Forums, it has served me well but it is as detailed as my understanding of the world was at that time, that's to say, not detailed at all. Third one is probably the one I am most happy about and thus the first one I wanted everyone to see, a Wonderdraft made map with the idea of it being an in-world interpretation by one of the TTRPG NPCs, thus allowing me to use over-sized icons and not care too much about their proportions, it is also the most detailed, which has helped me a lot for understanding the consequences of events here and there and get that visual need i have. Last one is also the most recent, a more detailed topographical map, I have been dodging making a proper heightmap all these years and how useful would that have been, I finally did it plus the rivers really give it a finished feel and make me feel vindicted about my swamp placement.
