While i do like dragons rising and think its entertaining i think it sorely misses the banter between characters, especially compared to previous Ninjago seasons.
While I was watching ParachutingKittens video about Dragons Rising from a year ago, I realized that's what I feel is missing from DR for me.
We dont have as many fun dynamics between the characters as we used to. I think most of the comedy is visual in a "haha look at what that guy's doing" kind of way and barely anything that's the characters saying things to each other that are funny.
I mean there's tons of compilations of various funny ninjago moments, but the older ones just feel more... natural? Like it's actually people talking to each other and not just things happening I guess. For example, in prevoius Ninjago seasons most of Jays crash outs and the other characters reactions to them are pretty funny. The only thing that comes close in DR feels like when Frak falls down, says he hopes noone saw that and then Jay stops to laugh at him.
I do admit it could just be me getting older and not being the target audience, but yeah I feel like the relationships between the characters aren't nearly as fun to watch anymkre (except maybe Kai and Wyldfyre).
I literally said this to my friends a few days ago after watch season 4 part 2 that that's what kept the season from being a perfect 10/10 everything was remarkable except that the character "crunch" wasn't there and that's what made a lot of the older seasons so good
