Lamp-Guitar Makes Stuff

specifically a smol game called Belt Voyager, for the Tilt Five game board system.

even made a manual to go with it lol (a bit extra but i loved the process of it so i'll probably be doing it for the projects im stoked about)

obviously i could have made this whole game much more polished, added more enemies, powerups and side objectives but i promised myself to try to go for 2 weeks of dev time and actually pushed it to 3. Still a success to me because hey im actually publishing this boi

now i can put this project to semi-rest and start thinking about the next one. my attention-span is way too shot to try and make this a big game-ass game and from the beginning, this was to be a smol game.

didn't get much done besides project organization and smaller tasks. such is how my thursdays kind of are, instead, i spent most of the day with my partner and going to one of their drag shows.

my partner is the cholo on the right. beautiful person. also i made that car.

riding alongside this journey of theirs of being a drag performer has always been a source of inspo. seeing many a people either for a quick buck, distraction or as a career get on stage and do their thing.

got quite a bit done yesterday! mostly 'marketing' stuff i guess but started the main game page on itchio, wrote basic description stuff + the banner+cover image for my smol game, Belt Voyager.

much better to do this kind of stuff beforehand, trust me, for any kind of project.

along with that, i made all the pages in clip studio paint for the game manual i plan on putting out with the game. a bit extra i know, but ive been wanting to make a manual for something for forever, so why not! even if it is for a 5-10 minute game lmao

i was thinking of modeling the ships and such myself but stumbling on a nice low-poly scifi ship asset pack on itchio really sped things up. for it to be on sale was great too!

so alongside those graphics, i placed the new ship models into the game and also made some asteroid models + dotted them along the game board.

ive already made the essential stuff of the main game. its really just minor details that would make the experience a tad bit more enjoyable imo. like changing out the station model that looks like a white brick in the pic before to a better one :v

so after years of listening to the same album on their bandcamp over and over as a comfort space, i finally bought it. so here i am listening to it & getting nostalgic about my time on the net so far.

tldr, cant sleep so here's a life update

like many of us, i have art accounts and social media accounts strewn across the internet and after logging into em all, i feel compelled to post here to try n get the sleepy times a rollin'

starting from the top, the end goal has always been to make a career out of my art/hobbies. and after 7 years of working at the same office as a graphic designer and saving up money, i have afforded myself a reprieve from suburban corpo drudgery and credit card debt.

world events or not im making what i want to make

and what i want to make at this point in my life is a few graphic novels, some video games and at some point in my later years, a bakery.

i dont think i lead a diogenes lifestyle, but maybe coming from a poor-ish childhood, i know that as long as i can keep creating, i can live any life and die without regrets. dramatic i know

I never got to build a plant cell model in my school career so I started working on this as a joke and its surprisingly therapeutic. When I am feeling stressed sometimes this hits the spot.

once the jam is over I'll probably write more in depth about making vr games on unity for beginners (such as myself) and how surprisingly not complicated it is
