sometime in s2, sam got playthings-drunk again, because he couldn’t handle the guilt & grief over john’s death, and accidentally called dean “dad”, thinking he was john. it went straight to dean’s dick, of course
wincest could’ve been a great and aesthetically pleasing ship if the shippers weren’t reducing it to fetishizing submissive omega bottom dean, turning sam into a caricature domtop, and making their dynamic about fanon johndean just to make sam some sort of third wheel
can we stop with this endless “john abused and raped dean, and sam was jealous and possessive because his only ever desire was to own and control dean” nonsense? none of this interpretation is supported by canon. and honestly, the fandom’s obsession with the line “your daddy brainwashed you and touched you in a bad place” is getting really annoying, because most people don’t even understand that henriksen doesn’t mean a literal physical or sexual violation. he says it as an idiom for emotional warping and refers to john turning his children into soldiers
and if we’re going with this “one of them was raped by their father and the other was unaware of it” trope, then it most realistically fits john raping sam, because aside from the fact that john always wanted to beat the defiance out of sam, which already makes their relationship abusive enough, he literally says in his journal that he sees his dead wife in sam and he also sent dean away to stay with little sammy all alone at the motel. not to mention that sam is canonically shown to be the only one who’s subjected to john’s physical violence
s5 sam saying dean will never punish him as much as he’s already punishing himself is the line that drives me positively insane, because it’s yet another blatant example of their power dynamic and how deansam is father-son coded. dean doesn’t just want to punish sam the way an older brother might — he wants to punish him in a very much paternal way. and sam knows it. and he’ll take as much emotional & physical punishment as dean feels he needs to give him
i genuinely wish the fandom would stop dismissing sam’s lines, because he literally acknowledges that dean is in a position of authority over him and has the power to punish him. and it gets reinforced by multiple other moments, such as when sam asks dean if he’s mad at him and practically urges him to hit him
no offense, but i seriously can’t believe people take dean’s joke about “getting tingly” when sam takes control at face value when their relationship is fundamentally built on an uneven power dynamic. and sam is not the one holding power here, especially when it comes to physical violence being used as punishment — something dean is repeatedly shown inflicting on sam
also, i promise you it’s perfectly okay to acknowledge that aspect of their relationship. if we’re willing to engage with the incest, i don’t see why the nuances regarding physical abuse and power dynamics (also, never forget the panic room and dean’s line about being willing to let sam rot in there), should suddenly be erased or ignored
to those who are interested, i’ve made an ao3 account
can’t believe my first ever fic is wincest hehe

Absolutely obsessed with everything you write for Wincest. What's it like knowing that you're the only one who gets their dynamic right?
Much love ❤️
thank you so much ㅤ♡ i’m glad to hear my posts & fics resonated with you!
something i really love about dean is how tactile he is with sam (always wavering between roughness & tenderness—just like john), whether it’s a gentle touch cradling sam’s face or a brutal punch that splits sam’s lip until it bleeds. this lovesick bastard is gonna act like he’s on his deathbed if he hasn’t touched his little brother in 2 days
perhaps dean wouldn’t have taken john’s side if he’d known that john had been molesting sam the whole time
(there’s only one father who’s allowed to violate sam in all kinds of ways, and it’s dean. because that’s part of his birthright)
the fact that john mentions in his journal that sam reminds him of mary, and that he used to send dean away so he could be “alone with sammy”, is enough to suggest that something sinister was going on between them (especially when you remember that john is canonically physically violent towards sam)
john was molesting young sam, and dean never knew
not gonna lie, one of the funniest things i’m constantly seeing is people acting like sam topping dean is something rare and special. this dynamic has been the most popular since the very first episode of the show because everyone thought dean was pretty (which surely automatically means he just has to bottom! lol), and apparently, him letting women take the lead also automatically means he wants to get fucked in the ass by men (unfortunately, most people still believe this). so literally any bottom!dean scenario you come up with has been written and drawn hundreds of times already. you certainly can’t say the same about top!dean, though, because this dynamic has been and is still the least popular in the fandom (despite having lots of potential based on canon, especially in the context of wincest). and let’s be real, 99% of wincest art depicts dean as an ultra-feminine, submissive omega bottom, so let’s not pretend like this dynamic is something unique

i love conflicted & tragic wincest. i love dean who locks up his screaming baby brother in a basement and says “at least he dies human” which really means “at least he dies mine”. i love sam who’s devoted to his big brother with his whole being, but also wants to get out and run away as far as possible
spn really said everything dean does is for love, but he’s so far gone in his selfish need to own sam he doesn’t realize that all he’s doing is pushing sam further away from him
and this is the most delicious part of their relationship ♡
your fics are so insane you just get wincest like nobody else. can i attend your school of wincest <3
haha thank you ♡ this genuinely means so much to me
i’m not even the biggest fan of the mommy kink, but i know calling sam “mom” would fix dean. or make him worse in a really delicious way. this man has to project his “mom is a babe” issue somewhere, right? especially when his little brother wants to mother him so badly. and sam, in his own kind of devotion, craves to be that warmth for dean. it’s a win-win for both of them
the important question we should all be asking is: are there any deangirls out there who don’t view dean as a feminized omega sub bottom, but instead acknowledge his canonical desire to domtop the life out of his little brother, along with his sadistic tendencies that beautifully coexist with his occasional bittersweet, fatherly tenderness for sam? do these blogs exist? i’d gladly follow them
i suddenly remembered this concept, and realized how much i still love it, so this little ficlet kind of wrote itself
[early s5, sam’s guilt & self-loathing, possessive/jealous dean, hurt/comfort (heavy on the hurt), vomiting]
the air in the motel bathroom is thick and wet, smelling of iron and cheap chlorine.
sam leans heavily against the edges of the porcelain sink, his whitened fingers pressing into the cracks in the enamel as his brother brutally takes him from behind.
dean’s hands are rough. hard calluses scratch the skin as his fingers dig into sam’s hips. thick and unrelenting, and agonizingly reminiscent of dad’s—the same uncompromising grip.
dean is angry. this cold anger has been poisoning him for weeks, festering since the apocalypse, since ruby, and now it finds its outlet in every sharp, cruel movement.
sam doesn’t resist. he takes this roughness as a long-awaited penance. there is something pacifying in this painful cleansing. dean is taking out his rage, purging his stress, and sam, finally, is of use to him. he can become a vessel for his brother’s pain, can absorb it into himself, paying the toll for his mistakes.
suddenly, dean’s fingers tangle ruthlessly into the grown-out hair at the nape of his neck, yanking back with force.
sam lets out an involuntary, hoarse sound as his face is tilted up.
his brother forces him to look into the murky mirror.
“want to be a good boy?” dean exhales heavily, right against his ear.
and sam, unable to tear his eyes away from his own pathetic, broken reflection, can only think: yes. always wanted to. for dad. and for you.
then dean’s words strike like a backhand, dirty, poisonous. he talks about how sam must have surrendered himself just as submissively to ruby, how he bent over for brady. about how, without a tight leash, he instantly flies off the rails; that he needs constant control, or else he’ll reach for the filth all over again. sam stays stubbornly silent, clenching his teeth until his jaw hurts. he tries to cling to the pitiful remains of his pride, to keep the illusion of independence, but the grip on his hair tightens, and his brother’s words drive through him like nails.
every accusation is true.
sam lets out a sob, his shoulders trembling.
a pathetic, desperate “sorry” tears from his throat.
dean hears.
“’sorry’ isn’t enough,” he grinds out, pressing his chest into sam’s back. “you need to be cleaned out. scrape this trash right out of you. all that demon blood you guzzled down like a drug.”
and before sam can flinch away, dean’s fingers invade his mouth with crude authority, pressing down on the very root of his tongue.
sam’s body twists in a spasm. a brutal gag reflex turns him inside out, making him shudder over the sink, expelling bile, bitterness, and the phantom blackness of his sins. he is choking, tears streaming down his cheeks, and dean holds him firmly, controlling every convulsion of his body.
he barely hears dean’s relieved moan. barely feels warm wetness drip between his legs.
when the spasm recedes, sam goes limp, hollowed out and shivering. there is nothing left inside. he feels absolutely sick, frail, and wants to cry, thin and desperate, like a little boy who has just been severely punished by his father.
dean is breathing heavily, raggedly. his hands slide from sam’s hair to his hips, then settle on his back, patting rhythmically.
“that’s my boy,” dean exhales, absolute satisfaction in his hoarse voice.
sam hears his own quiet sobbing as if from far away. he closes his eyes, feeling the measured thump of the palm against his back.
“hey, hey, sammy. you’re good. you’re good now.”
dean’s cold, wet hands touch his skin again, cupping his jaw, rough fingers wiping away the sticky traces of tears and saliva from his burning, flushed face. he hears the rusty water run, carrying the bitterness down the drain.
sam thinks only of how he wants dean to never stop touching him, to just keep repeating those words forever.

god bless the siren episode for giving the most blatant and pretty much textual confirmation that dean wants to be called “sir” (alternatively: “dad”) by sam. and apparently this also includes sexual context, since the siren represents one’s greatest desire, platonic and sexual, and dean’s siren literally takes the form of submissive sammy in order to seduce him
i do actually think a lot about the fact that both dean and john are violent and undeniably controlling towards sam in canon, and how sam left them not to seek normalcy, but safety. i’m sure no one else in this fandom ever thinks about it because most viewers ignore sam (and only care about him when they want to try and prove that he’s some sort of a selfish, aggressive, and untamed animal). but this specific aspect of his character is perhaps the most compelling thing to me about his journey. there’s something tragically bittersweet about accepting that you’ll never be able to escape your rotten family and the violence that you’ve never wanted to be part of
