Acne, blackheads, splotches of red, or just redness, even the texture of the little hills I have on my face, are/were all huge insecurities I have faced throughout my life. Everyday I am trying to be friends with my skin or better yet love the skin that I wear, it has been a constant journey through people touching my skin and telling me “why is it like that”, to people making nasty comments on my blackheads as if my face was abnormal. Making me, scared to be caught In photos, because for me that meant people could even take a closer look, to my “imperfections”. Today I feel uncomfortable when people look at my face for a long period of time because for something they do not know, they are opening my door of trauma with my skin, which I try to keep close, but with the help of time, I try to give my self reminders that my skin is my growth, it is my beauty, and pain, it is my story and I should let my self feel, the up most pride of carrying my story on my face
