okay so i'm imagining their initial story is a lot like their stars above counterparts - cerelle is causing trouble, ben gets sent by the emperor to catch her, he does so with henrix' help. except in this, benrix actually manage to bring her all the way to the capital where it is revealed, oh shocker, that cerelle is actually reylo's granddaughter!

so then cerelle gets thrust back into life in the imperial court and under kylo and rey's tutelage. she tries to like it esp bc she's now reunited with her mum, but all the stuff they're teaching her is so antithetical to everything she has learned so far, so she really struggles. benjiamin is slowly growing jealous bc up until now, he has always been the priced student who has always excelled at everything. and now cerelle is not even trying (in his eyes) and yet gets all the attention.

he goes to rant to henrix (who's currently building starkiller base) and guess what, they're friends with benefits 🙂‍↕️ they're very strict about hiding it bc reylo are homophobic (rip) and they mostly use it as a stress-relief. they're not actually in love, duh!

one of the other knights of ren is constantly trying to enter cerelle's mind (kylo's orders) and cerelle quickly finds out the only way to keep her out is to imagine ben naked (which she saw him as once). she hates it so much mostly bc she still hates ben so much, but it's the only way. eventually this escalates in her making out with him bc mere images won't do anymore. and when she can't find him one day she makes out with henrix instead.

the knight of ren gets so insistent one day that absolutely nothing can hold her back, and cerelle BEGS ben to help her. so he uses his own force abilities to shield cerelle's head against absolutely everything. and this ends up with them having a force bond (: that henrix is also involved in bc he was there when ben created the shield and very much touching both of them.

they're slowly growing closer, keeping the bond hidden from reylo but still trying to explore it a bit. cerelle starts spending a lot of time on starkiller with benrix (which is how people start referring to her as lady starkiller!). until she helps some rebels escape, her and ben fight, and the only reason she doesn't defeat him is bc henrix steps in and shoots her. not fatally, just enough to prevent her from fighting. ben removes the shield and sends her back to the capital where reylo finally take over her mind completely.

i don't have that much planned out past this point, but there's a moment where cerelle gets mentally tortured by kylo, the force bond activates and ben throws himself against her and rips her away from kylo's control and into the place where he is.

so starfall is interesting because the point of divergence from canon is not yet fully ironed out 🤔 meaning i have not yet decided how long the first order has before taking over the galaxy again, or how much time the new republic gets before they are eventually destroyed

butbutbut there is definitely a resistance left! they never had any large wins nor major losses that could have shifted the tides (seeing as starkiller base is invented so much later), so they are mostly relegated to fighting a very long and drawn-out guerilla war against the empire

nope, cecylia never met either of her grandmothers. she also barely ever heard about them besides some very basic "here is our family history, be sure to remember it" from rey and kylo.

leia is obviously a touchy subject with kylo, so he avoids any mention or reminder of her as much as he can. and to rey, who never escaped from palpatine and grew up raised solely by him, her own mother never mattered, so she doesn't see any reason to mention her.

(we can be lucky rey is a lowkey good parent otherwise she would blame her own mother (who didn't have force powers and wasn't notable/famous in any way) for how her daughter "turned out")

cecylia is the only child of kylo and rey and as such technically heir to the empire, except she doesn't have any force powers (besides some general "sensing that something is off). so while she is loved by them and they care about her, she KNOWS they wanted her to be someone different. there is a sense of distance between them that kylo and rey never bother to bridge.

it gets worse when they start taking on padawans/acolytes bc she sees how her life would have been had she been force sensitive. they spend so much time with their students, constantly teach them new things, let them in on so many empire secrets... kylo and rey do try to make her feel valued but it's clear they hold a bit of resentment that she isn't more like them.

(it doesn't help that cecylia doesn't look like either of her parents and so much like rey's mother... aka the only person in the family that doesn't "matter" in the grand scheme of things.)

to curb a brewing rebellion, cecylia ends up being married off to the brother of an important/rich duke (haven't decided of which planet yet). both are only 16 when they are married and nine months later have their first child already - aka cerelle!

cecylia loves her sm despite the circumstances and vows to be the best parent ever... and then it turns out that cerelle is incredibly force sensitive, meaning rey and kylo immediately start showing an interest/inserting themselves in her life. they honestly treat cerelle as if SHE was their child and immediate heir to the empire. cecylia initially is incredibly protective and tries to shield her, but rey is soo good at manipulating her and eventually convinces her it's a good thing that cerelle is already getting trained in the dark side...

cecylia'a husband octavian doesn't budge however. he is not a fan of the empire as-is and now reylo want to control HIS daughter and make her into something evil, someone who wouldn't bat an eye at murder... and then one morning after a big fight over the topic between them, octavian has disappeared. and with him, cerelle.

she hardens a lot in the years that follow. not only has she essentially lost her parents, now cecylia doesn't even have her daughter anymore aka the person she has loved most in her entire life. i haven't truly decided what she does in the years between cerelle's disappearance her return but i like the idea of her becoming an army general of sorts, or maybe even takes charge of the stormtrooper training.
