a crazy, mad, wonderful idea

Did we have a Die Hard marathon this morning while drinking hot coffee and eating cinnamon rolls? It’s possible. I honestly don’t get the whole Christmas movie thing. Give me Bruce Willis with guns and kickass lines every single time. Now I think it’s time to find a deck of cards and kick my boyfriend’s ass as poker. How’s everyone else staying entertained today?

If you did, it sounds like you had a pretty good night. Are those movies really that good though? I’ve always wanted to watch them, but old action movies have always been a hit or a miss for me. Nothing too exciting, just watching a bunch of old shows at an attempt to clear out my queue so I can fill it back up again.

Its a New Year what better time to indulge yourself in your desires instead of trying to check of the useless resolutions to better yourself? I’ll be working all weekend and I wouldn’t be against seeing new and old faces. 

Are people still making resolutions? I thought that trend died out when everyone started hopping on the “new year, same me” train. But I’m all down for indulging myself, so look forward to seeing this face while you’re on the clock.

Absolutely those movies are that good. Die Hard is a staple movie in any person’s life and they have got to be seen. I watch them at least once a year, especially at Christmas time. John McClane kicks ass so I fully support you giving this movie a try. Bruce Willis in his hay day? Absolutely yes. Ah, is there anything good?

There might be a lot of staple movies I’ve missed out on, but since everyone who’s seen it speaks so highly of it I think I’ve got to check it out now. Depends on what you consider good. First I watched What We Do in the Shadows, finally watched the last season of Brooklyn 99, and then started watching Castle Rock even though I probably shouldn’t have.

Happy first full week of the New Year, friends. I hope 2020 has been as good to you as it has been to me. I really can’t wait for all the exciting and wonderful things that lay ahead in this new year. I’ve been enjoying my time off from work, thanks to the school’s Winter Holiday but honestly, I cannot wait to get back to work. I think I might have put on way too much weight from all the Christmas cookies and holiday food but thank goodness for sweater weather, right? 

I know a lot of things happened in 2019, some good like engagements and children, new relationships and friendships. But there were also some awful things that happened to people who didn’t deserve it. Life is always bittersweet that way and it’s not always fair but I’m glad that most people have made it through, the best they can. 

Either way, I am grateful to everyone – friends, family and everything in between, that I had in my life last year and the ones who I’m bringing in with me to the new year. I hope you only good things come your way but if not, I hope you will always have people around you, to help you get through it with support and strength. And know there is never any shame in reaching out when you need help. There will always be someone there, even if it’s just me.

But that’s enough sap from me. Just want to say a very happy 2020 to you Riverdale.

Thank you, Blaine, that was so sweet. I’m hoping the same for you because you deserve it and so much more. I don’t think there is even such a thing as enough sap when it comes to you. In fact, I think we could use some more or at least I could if no one else wants any more.

FRANCO: dunno i moved 2 an empty seat

I want to apologize to those who were probably slightly thrown off by how extremely secretive I’ve been lately, but as you see, I’ve had a good reason. But now that it’s all out in the open, I can’t tell you how relieved I am. And happy. Very, very happy. And to top it all off, I have officially bought a new house on the Northside, which is currently in the decoration and furnishing stage. Once everything is ready, I would love to host a dinner for a select few to attend and get to know the most amazing little girl this town has seen.

Something tells me this apology will be more than accepted, especially when it comes to news like this. It seems like you and the little one’s year is off to a great start so far and I’m hoping it’ll only be going up from here.

I’m mind blown that you’d think she would’ve said no. You might not be what the world considers to be “the perfect man”, but you’re a catch in your own way. I can totally see that happening, and it sounds like it was an adorable moment.

I think the situations of this being any shred of cute is slim to one. I would be able to possibly deal with it with gorgeous people like yourself. But others? Hell no. Oh really? Well what other words would you use to describe me? I would love to know what’s on your mind. Flattery is one of my many talents, I can’t wait to see what it could get me. 

You’re not wrong about that. I’ve always been more of a look back on the year rather than planning for what’s to come, yet it’s nice to know you’d find it cute if I did make a resolution. Well, there’s beautiful, intelligent, stunning, badass, talented, confident, funny. I could keep going if you want me to. See, a lot of people say that but I promise it’s not pretty at all.

JACKSON: We sadly don't and I dont think we will have that luxury. Sounds like a great plan to me. I guess we have to prove ourselves then, huh? Besides, maybe once dad is "sent" off somewhere, I can take over the business. Or at least share it 50/50. It would be, now question is, do we use that as a front for something else?

JACKSON: Ditto. Usually Im not one for business meetings, Im usually at the punching stage. If I did, I would never stop hearing about it. At least Im, not Sebastian, who accidentally set the kitchen on fire.

JANE: Way to inadvertently step on my hopes and dreams. Yeah, though it shouldn't be hard. Dad's been getting sloppy and young blood is always more appealing. Possibly 70/30? I was really excited about getting in the real estate business before I found out what our family really does. Why question it? It'll obviously be a good cover for whatever you decided to do behind those doors.

JACKSON: If this would be up to me, I would probably, I don't know what I would do besides run away from Riverdale. Thank you, since we both know that dad's been all kinds of busy and I think we should show everyone what we have. Awesome, great. So you have the Drive-In, the abandon building. I have Hudsons construction, I can look into the high school.

JACKSON: Yes, there will be food. Im going to pull out all of the stops for this lunch. That was one time, and that was before I had food delivered.

JANE: A lot of people would do that, but unfortunately we don't currently have that luxury, so let's make the best of it while we're here. And if we're good at it, maybe getting dad "sent off" somewhere wouldn't be too bad of an idea. The high school would be a good investment.

I know there’s still a lot, I just can’t believe it’s been five years already. Sorry about getting the song stuck in your head though, It’s been stuck in mine, because that’s really all I can think about. And I think I’d revisit all the big things, the milestones, just to see them one more time.

Time flies when you’re having fun, and I’ve heard kids can be a lot of that most of the time. It’s all good, it kind of beats having the Martha Speaks theme song stuck in there. Aww, that’s so sweet. If you’ve got any old videos of her that could be a second-best. It’ll be like you travel back in time without running the risk of messing with the space-time continuum.

JACKSON: That would be my job, sis. We do no harm, and we don't take any shit from anyone. Go ahead and ask her to start looking into that now, that way we can get it right away instead of waiting around forever and having the risk of someone else taking it. Speaking of Sunnyside, we should also talk to Sugar, since the trailer park's Motta's territory and see if we can get into that as well.

JACKSON: Also, we have a lunch date with Finn Hudson on Wednesday @ 12:30 pm at my place, we're going to be dipping our toes into the construction business.

JANE: If it were up to me, this would all be your job and I'd just sit back and look pretty. But I'd feel bad if anything happened to you so I'm willing to help however I can. Alright, I'll call her in a bit so we can start getting everything in motion. That shouldn't be too hard, Sugar likes me and I think I could get her to think about it if I play my cards right.

I have 15 days left of having a four year old and I don’t even know how to swallow that pill. My ever growing baby is going to be five and there’s nothing I can do about it because apparently cranking If I Could Turn Back Time by Cher doesn’t actually turn back time. If anyone has a time pauser or a time machine, please tell me how much it is to rent it.

Children growing up is for sure one of those bittersweet things when it comes to parenthood, but if you look on the bright side, you’ve still got a lot to look forward to. That song is gonna be stuck in my head now and I don’t know how I feel about that, but if you were able to turn back time, how far back would you go? Are you aiming to revisit her infant days or just a few months?

JACKSON: Let's hope so. I'll try, but we both know how things are with him in the office. Though, one of us should hit up Ryder about the Drive-In, I suggest you for that before dad hits his parents up. While I hit up the other parts of the Southside. In the meantime, we should buy abandon buildings, etc. We got the money, mom will help us.

My 2020 has been great so far, got a new comic that I read in a day, had more slow days at the Drive In which led to more snacks for me to eat, figured out my New Years resolution and my backup resolution, here’s hoping the rest of the year goes as well as the first couple of days.

What comic did you get? I’d ask what your resolutions are, but something tells me you might not be able to stick to them if you already have a backup. For your sake and anyone else’s, I hope it does too because some of us could really use a great year.
