if you’re offline or away and i message you something (like a link to a meme or a picture or w/e) honestly just assume that i’m just leaving it there for when you get back and not expecting you to answer straight away. i don’t need you to respond with “hey, sorry, i wasn’t at the computer!” or anything. i was leaving u a gift for later.

This also applies if you’re online and just don’t want to or have the energy to deal with humans in the moment. Just because we have the ability to reply in real time does not mean we have the obligation.

stop trying to meet societal measures of success that were never made with you in mind. when you embrace that your life is different, you can begin to build it up in a way that supports and sustains you

frankly, sympathy for women is more important than like...most boiler plate ideological talking points you could assign to yourself. like if you practice sympathy for women then the politics will come. if you do actionable things, that will be more important even if you cannot articulate why it is important, feminist, or political, you know what I mean? its been on my mind a lot about living out loud and striving for my community of women, even if I don’t really get why what I’m doing is good. I think building faith in your conscience is the most important thing to do in you 20s even as a feminist. if you can challenge and test your conscience until you’re convicted in your morals, then you can trust yourself to make the right decisions for your own personal ideology and then your identity becomes what you do and how you behave and that’s good, I think that’s ideal. I’m going to keep checking my thoughts and words against my own maxim of “is that sympathetic towards women?” and be satisfied when it is and work better when it isn’t, and I think that’s enough to expect from myself for now. I think if I do that I’ll grow into the woman I want to see myself become as I age, and I think it’ll align with feminism the more I work at it.

"Excercise with a bad diet is a waste of time" Ummm not tf it's not. I hate it when people say this. Please continue to exercise regularly even if your diet is far from perfect. Exercise has about literally 10,00 benefits that aren't fat loss related (literally scientists can't stop finding things exercise improves about human health!!) - it's genuinely mind-boggling how much that gets downplayed. Fat Loss is literally 1 out of thousandsss of benefits. And even then, maintaining muscle in your body + improved metabolic function w exercise will effortlessly contribute to weight loss or at least weight maintenance when you're not in deficit. It's worth creating a workout habit even if your diet isn't ideal right now.

The older I get the more convinced I become that the most genuinely attractive quality a woman can have is the visible impression that her life is full without you in it. Not performed aloofness, not manufactured scarcity, not games, an actual life with actual substance and actual joy that does not have a vacancy sign hanging in the window waiting for someone to come along and make it worthwhile. That quality is built through the accumulation of genuine experiences, genuine interests, genuine friendships, genuine ambitions, and it cannot be faked in any sustained way because it is either there or it is not.
