Remus and Sirius are the biggest proof that communication is important because what the hell was that

Remus pulling Sirius into the shower after a long night, water cascading down both of them, and washing his hair with careful, massaging fingers. Sirius’s eyes flutter shut, knees weak, because no one’s ever touched him like he’s something precious and filthy at the same time.

Sirius asked Remus once why he never smiled in pictures, and Remus admitted it was because he thought he looked weird when he did. So from then on, every time someone pulled out a camera, he'd make a ridiculous face, say something absurd, or do whatever it took to make Remus laugh before the picture was taken. Years later, there isn't a single photo of Remus that isn't at least a little blurry because he's laughing too hard or smiling too bright.

sirius says romantic things in the same tone most people use to ask someone to pass the salt. remus will be standing there making toast and suddenly sirius is going “s’funny how easy loving you is” before immediately going back to complaining about that bloody heatwave like he didn’t just change remus’s brain chemistry
