The Comparison

Main story - While both games have side quests, I feel that Legacy has more side quests to do before continuing with the main story. And the story is fixed. Magic Awakened is more straight to the point and continuing to this day. But each main story would take long to appear Character Story/Quests - Magic Awakened has a whole school year story dedicated to a character, i.e. Ivy Wellington for Year One, Daniel Page for Year Two, then others follow. Legacy has the character stories happen all in one school year Characters' Charms - Characters from both games are charming in their own way. And regardless of the time settings, they're both relatable. (But as soon as I started playing Legacy, my bias shifted from HPMA's Daniel Page to HL's Ominis Gaunt xD) Timelines - Legacy is set in the 1890's while Magic Awakened is set after Deathly Hallows but years before Albus Potter and the OG trio's kids go to Hogwarts Romances - Magic Awakened has hints of that, and is apparent between some characters in the cast (it's hinted that even the MC has feelings for someone as well) Character Relationships - While relationships with characters in Legacy is based on choices, Magic Awakened has Friendship Points with the main cast of the game. The more time the player spent with them, the more points the character has with the player Dueling - Both dueling features are fun to take part of. In Legacy, being an open-world setting, we get to duel more opponents in person and on the field, whereas Magic Awakened's dueling feature is via card game. While Legacy opponents are CPU, players in Magic Awakened get to duel against (and with) other players -- CPU and irl -- via either solo or duo duels Levelling Up - In Legacy, the player has to increase levels of their gear and the spell mastery (via talent points). Whereas in Magic Awakened, they level up the Spellbook and the cards used in the duels. The higher the level, the more damage it creates Spells - Both games use plants and spells to battle opponents, and both use the Unforgiveable Curses. In Magic Awakened, the player can use Summons (i.e. Spiders, Thunderbird, Kelpie, etc.) for battle. But both games have cooldown time in between spells, plants and summons Exploration - Apart from the absence of Diagon Alley in Legacy, players get to physically immerse themselves in the Wizarding World (to the point of getting lost in Hogwarts, for example) via walking, broom or even riding a Hippogriff. Both games use travel points to get to where the players need to be Special Events - Magic Awakened holds special events (like the Lunar New Year) and releases rewards to players that partake in them, like the House Cup. The House Cup event changes themes as well i.e. Dueling (Solo and Duo), Dance, History of Magic. BONUS: the game would loan a special outfit (of the player's choosing) during the player's birthday for one week Classes - These are available in Legacy when it's required in a story quest. In Magic Awakened, players can choose to partake in classes like DADA, History of Magic, etc. And each class has its own schedule per day Extra-Curricular Activities - In case the player wants more activities apart from classes, Magic Awakened has a variety of these. The Dance Club, Forbidden Forest exploration and Dueling Club just to name a few Personal Space - The spaces in both games are expandable and customizable. But what I (personally) like about Legacy's space is that it has Vivariums where the saved magical beasts can reside, as well as the Potion tables and planting tables to create potions and grow/harvest plants respectively Game Art - Arts in both games ARE GORGEOUS in their own way. HANDS DOWN. No need to compare

What I wish for Hogwarts Legacy:

Main story - Consequences depending on the player's choice to heighten the stakes and to ACTUALLY challenge the player's moral within the game

Character Story/Quests - Specifically The Shadow of quest. They would have given the player the choice to side with Ominis. And if we choose to side with Ominis, it can result with him and the player to duel against Sebastian

Romances - Optional, but it would be interesting!

Character Relationships - Create more choices that allows the player to go with or against the characters they're with. Or create more quests that can increase the player's chance of being with the characters

Dueling/Spells - Either add more spells like Aguamenti, Obliviate, and the like, or create new spells that is exclusive for that timeline that is later lost in the modern time

Special Events - Adding something like a Quidditch match between Houses would be an engaging event for players

Classes - Having to do them in the classroom can help the players immerse themselves into what it is like to be in that certain class i.e. mixing ingredients in Potions class or class dueling in DADA class

Others - Improve the face design and outfits for both genders. Or, absorb the face mods and integrate them into the game

What I wish for Harry Potter: Magic Awakened:

Main story - Same with what I wish for Hogwarts Legacy: the MC's choices affect the story entirely. Since a part of the main story involves NOTME, perhaps something that can heighten the stakes between the MC and Daniel Page - Make the MC BE THE MC

Character Story/Quests - Story/side quests involving the Frey Twins and how they came to be who the players know - Story/side quests involving Cassandra Vole and how she came to be how she is - Story/side quests involving Elliot Evers/NOTME

Romances - Since it is hinted that the MC has feelings for someone, let the MC have the option to end up with an in-game character or real-life character of their choice

Character Relationships - It would be exciting if their Friendship Points would have a purpose aside from a meter of showing how close the MC is with them i.e. All Perfect results in Dance or more combat presence in the duels

Dueling - Fair pairing up of duelists according to rank - Implementing stricter monitoring on duel matches and stricter penalties on players harrassing others

Exploration - Allow more exploration and movement for better immersion within the game

Classes - Add Potions class - Include new charm/spell challenges in Charms class, or DADA class - Provide more exposure to magical beasts

Others - Allow the player to buy an outfit of their choosing on their birthday. This does not include the Mythics.

What I HOPE for Hogwarts Legacy 2:

Main story (NOTE: There will be consequences depending on the player's choices) - A continuation of the HL story - The origins of the House Founders - The origin of Grindelwald and Dumbledore

Character Story/Quests - Continuation of The Shadow of quest, depending on the ending choice in the first HL. If they turned Sebastian Sallow in, he would break out of Azkaban, become a fugitive, and would either go after the MC or join Grindelwald. If they don't turn him in, then he would help MC go against Grindelwald - Ominis Gaunt, his family, and his fate - Side quests involving the other characters like Garreth Weasley - Story/side quests involving famous figures like Nicholas Flamel

Character Relationships - Our choices affect our relationship with the characters, allowing the characters/NPCs to behave in certain ways whenever they encounter with MC - The more the MC spends time with a character, the closer they become

Dueling - Allow Co-op feature to allow players to team up with each other - Make the Companion part of the game. It will still act like a Companion Mod where players can interact at the travel points, but the players can choose when they need them

Spells - Like Hogwarts Legacy: Either add more spells like Aguamenti, Obliviate, and the like, or create new spells that is exclusive for that timeline that is later lost in the modern time. Since Grindelwald is already alive at this point, it would be more fun to include the spells he used/created such as Protego Diabolica.

Exploration - The Wizarding World is already immersive. It would be also interesting to see how Diagon Alley was established, if it applies - Allow all Houses to enter Azkaban via side quest, not just one House - Exposure of the Ministry of Magic - Allow travel to other schools around the world. If not, then within Europe like Durmstrang and Beauxbatons

Special Events - Quidditch matches - Duels (pvp and pvcpu)

Classes - Give the player the choice to take classes where each day has a different set of them
