sangwoo decided to go on a honeymoon to japan to celebrate their 3 year anniversary since bum killed ji eun (that chapter was the way sangwoo kind of proposes to bum, according to theories)

With the frog and the photo, he doesn’t seem to fully understand why these objects make Bum happy and is somewhat bothered by them. This might be because he’s uncomfortable with any of Bum’s affection being directed to anything other than him, and thus takes them from Bum.

Later, he’s able to somewhat re-contextualize the frog as being a gift from him and is thus special because of him, but is still reluctant to give it back to Bum. 

A side note: Bum notes that a reason the frog is so special is because it’s the first present. Sangwoo probably understands that ‘the first’ is always considered more special and this can tie back to the comments he made at the beginning of chapter 36 about the uncle, which then adds another source if insecurity

At the end, the photo having no obvious connection to him, he considers tossing it. He knows this would make Bum sad, but that might also be motivating the action. He is fully aware that he will continue to hurt Bum, but needs assurance that Bum will stay with him despite this.

However, when Bum calls out his name, and expresses how happy he is and his gratitude towards Sangwoo and his efforts, the urge to be reassured is fulfilled.
