Mermaid Madness

apparently, tumblr is ghost town now and i haven’t been active since 2017(?) so-- hello?

dear past self,

 YOU FREAKING MADE IT THROUGH MEDICAL SCHOOL!!! You survived!!! All the sleepless nights paid off. All the study-out sessions at random coffee shops and fastfood chains was worth it. You’re a post-graduate intern now and you feel a little accomplished. Although you’ve gone through so many things that made you doubt your capabilities, you’re happy. And oh! You met someone that finally gets you and has the patience to deal with your moodiness. He’s crazy about you and he loves you completely! like what??? You’ve always wanted someone who’d love you unconditionally right? Anyway, Who would’ve known that in 4 years, you’d have all the things you dreamed of? Life feels so complete and it feels like there’s nothing more you’d want. You’re throwing yourself at your dreams and someone’s holding your hand as you go through the highs and lows of your life. Your friends are great and thoughtful. They stay your friends despite how annoyingly obnoxious you are. (yep, that part has definitely not changed lol). I just want to tell you that everything you’ve gone through lead you somewhere. Those experiences were not a waste of time. The tears you shed were all valid. The lows? it made you who you are now and I mean it when I say, you’re definitely much stronger now than you were before. It’s okay to feel sad and to spend days on your bed sulking. It’s okay to go on nights out and feel the freedom that you thought you didn’t have. It’s okay to take pauses and to take risks. Everything that you are going through now isn’t just for nothing. All those things were hurled your way on purpose. It made you strong, brave and resilient. 

and oh right, you’re now living through a pandemic. lol
