HELLO HELLO I finally found some free from work time (when I really should have been sleeping but nO MATTER) to draw something! This thing was banging inside my head for quite some time. I am not very happy with the colors, buuuut I think when you don’t know what I initially wanted it to look like, it turned out nicely enough. It’s a scene from a gorgeous Riptide Lover by Jinglebellfic, who incidentally has a bIRTHDAY TODAY HAPPY BIRTHDAY JINGLEBELL! 8D So. Sherlock is gills deep in trouble, John is upset, and Mycroft is very uncomfortable about - well, about everything at the moment. And is a merman. Did I mention that? A merman. Yes. I love his colors and how small, bloodied, and vulnerable John looks in comparison to this huge lionsfish Holmes. <3 thanks so much for this amazing present, what a way to kick off my birthday!! -LOVE BEAMS-

Accident Font “Village Life” by Nina Mikhailova

FINALLY after 3 months I decided it’s time to show off my degree work xd An illustrated edition of 6 stories from “The Memoirs of Sherlock Holmes”! The idea was to make this edition look like a real journal of dr. Watson, with hastily done scrawls and pictures on the margins. The blurred ink contours made on the damp paper helps to create such an illusion. And I can tell you, to force the controllable spread of the ink on the wet paper is one hell of a work. The main drawback for me in this idea was that such a concept leaves dr. Watson off the picture once and for all. I really wanted to put more of his character in the subscriptions, maybe even make him and Holmes to bicker on the margins (somewhat like they did in Sherlock’s casebook) but, well. Degree project is a degree project. Maybe next time. The main advantage - that I always could lay the blame for a shitty pictures on doctor’s drawing skills this concept allowed me to create a shifting and vibrant atmosphere inside the book. It turned out much less of a fandom thing that I wanted, but, well-2. You can see more of this project on my behance page here.
