────── ❀•°❀°•❀ ──────
“Not too shabby for a CEO’s office.”
You say, walking into Sylus’s office, arms crossed like you own the place.
Sylus lifts his gaze from behind his sleek desk, amused. His crimson eyes glitter like garnets under the sunlight pouring in through the wall-sized window behind him, the skyline stretching wide - cold glass and mirrored steel.
He turns slowly in his chair as you strut past the leather sofas, running a finger along their edge.
“I’m glad it wins your approval.” His voice is rich and smooth, like wine served in crystal.
You ignore the compliment, scanning the office until your eyes land on the opaque glass wall at the entrance.
“So,” you say, turning back toward him. “Why did such an important man call a lowly intern into his office?”
His gaze doesn’t falter. “Because I supposed the intern had a lot to say.”
His eyes flick down to your figure and back up again, unmistakably pleased by your new formal look. You don’t blame him. You’re wearing your carefully chosen pencil skirt, silk blouse, black tights, and favorite heels.
“Let’s hear what the CEO has to say first.”
He gestures for you to come closer with his hand. You ignore it - and instead hop up onto the edge of his desk, your legs swinging idly.
He chuckles lowly, leaning forward to place a warm hand on your thigh.
“Things are… complicated,” he says, voice dipping lower.
You arch a brow. “That’s new. You, saying things are complicated?”
“It’s a personal mess. I didn’t want you to get involved in it.”
You tilt your head. “What, are you secretly married or something?”
Sylus scoffs, offended by the absurdity. “No. Of course not.”
You look down at his hand and slowly interlace your fingers with his. A calculated move. You bring it to your lips, place a kiss on his knuckles, and look up with wide, injured eyes.
“Even if you were, you know I would’ve understood,” you whisper. “I can’t believe you doubted me.”
He looks at you the way someone might look at a monkey riding a unicycle - a sight both entertaining and ridiculous.
Yet you continue.
“I’d go through thick and thin with you,” you begin solemnly, one hand to your chest. “And I would-”
“-go through thick and thin with my money,” he interrupts dryly.
You gasp, scandalized. “That is outrageous! Even if you were poor! And married! I’d still be by your side!”
You clutch his hand to your chest dramatically. “Feel it - the heartbreak!”
You flatten his palm against your breasts.
He raises a brow. “…All I feel is a healthy heartbeat.”
He gives a light squeeze. You swat his hand away.
“See?! That’s all you think about! What happened to dignity? And honor? And chivalry?”
“Alright, alright.” He waves you down like he’s swatting away an overly dramatic stage actress. “I should’ve told you sooner.”
You lean back on your palms, lips curving into something between amusement and triumph. “You should have.”
“I’m sorry, kitten.” His tone straddles that fine line between genuine remorse and theatrical sarcasm.
You cross your arms, wordlessly demanding more.
“I’m sorry I doubted you,” he continues, slow and deliberate. “Even though you’ve been so loyal to me.”
The way he lingers on loyal - you can’t tell if he’s teasing or trying to guilt you.
“What could I possibly do to make it up to you?”
Your heart skips a beat in thrill.
“I don’t know,” you say, coy. “Nothing could mend this broken heart.”
“Right. I should’ve known kitten is not a materialistic girl. Perhaps I can make it up to you with... sincere actions.”
Nonsense.
“On second thought, I think maybe the new Ferrari collection looks rather beautiful.”
Sylus chuckles, shaking his head at your shameless audacity. “Unbelievable,” he mutters - and sighs. “Fine.” “Really?!” you gasp, and before he can change his mind, you climb into his lap with all the grace of a triumphant winner. You wrap your arms around his neck, beaming. “Oh, Daddy. I think I’m healed already.”
He lets out a low laugh that reverberates through his chest as he pulls you in tighter.
“Maybe I should’ve picked something more expensive,” you say, trailing kisses across his cheek.
“Your greed knows no bounds,” He murmurs into your neck, and takes a second to deeply inhale your scent. “But I’m always impressed by your efficiency.”
You reply, voice quieter, like you’re whispering a naughty secret. “How about,” you say, locking eyes with him as your hand drifts lower to graze the outline of his cock, now hardening fast beneath your palm, “...I make up for my so-called greed… starting now.”
His crimson eyes flicker, darkening instantly.
You keep the gaze as you palm him harder, slow and steady. His cock stiffens beneath your fingers, straining against his pants.
Just as you start to unzip him, his hand closes around your wrist.
“As much as I’d like that, kitten.” His deep voice is full of restraint. “Unfortunately I’ve decided to keep my office sex-free. As CEO. Dignity, or whatever you were saying earlier.” .
You look at him, mouth open. “You’ve got to be kidding me.”
“I’m not.” Sylus says, mouth upturned into a smirk.
“You’re doing this just to get back at me, aren’t you?”
He raises a brow, voice calm. “Hardly. I made that rule when I founded the company. Years ago.”
“…and I respect that.”
Sylus laughs, amused by your forced diplomacy, and plants a kiss on your lips. “Why, thank you.”
Just then, the phone on his desk rings. You rise from his lap, smoothing your skirt, giving him space. As he reaches for the phone, his fingers brush your back in a quiet, lingering touch.
“I need to get back to work,” he murmurs. “Thomas will escort you back down.”
You pause at the door, glancing back. He’s already answering the call, voice level, posture straight, every trace of indulgence vanished. The tension in the room dissipates like smoke - replaced with cold, crisp professionalism.
It scratches something in you.
That he can switch off so easily, that you're left hot and bothered while he returns to work like nothing happened.
That kind of control is... infuriating. And sexy.
You follow the assistant down the hall, and step into the elevator and press the button.
As you watch the numbers decrease steadily, you begin to wonder:
What ever you should do to make sure Sylus breaks his precious little ‘rule’ that is oh, so unlike his character?
────── ❀•°❀°•❀ ──────
The opportunity presents itself.
It just so happens that Sylus doesn’t always use his exclusive elevator.
On your fourth day of work, you’re wrapping up a minor errand at a nearby bank around noon. You enter one of the three main elevators in the hall - only to find Sylus already inside, alone, head bowed over his business phone, texting.
Too immersed, he doesn’t notice you entering. You eye the buttons and see that only the top most floor - 53 - is lit. You don’t press 8, your floor.
Instead, you slowly walk towards him, slightly undoing the top most buttons of your silk blouse, heels clicking quietly on the floor. It’s only when you’re right in front of him, barely a hand’s width apart, when he looks up from his phone with a full look of caution.
His crimson eyes relax instantly when he realizes who you are.
“Oh, it’s you, kitten-”
His words taper off as his eyes fall to your cleavage, lush and spilling over your bra beneath the undone blouse.
His lips curl into a smirk.
“Hey, boss-man,” you say, voice low and slow. You raise a hand to his stomach and stroke down gently. “Busy day at work?”
“…Surely you didn’t walk into work like that.”
“And what if I did?”
He sighs, eyes briefly shutting as he rubs his temple, like he already knows you're about to test every limit he thought he had.
“Just button it up, before anyone walks in, please.”
The mirror behind him reflects floor 14.
“How about-” your hand trails lower to the waistband of his slacks.
With the way he jolts, you know he knows what you’re about to do. Before he can stop you, however, you slip past his hands and cup his balls, giving them a deliberate squeeze.
“-No.”
You know he loves it when you do that.
A sharp breath escapes his lips.
He catches your wrist, intent on stopping you - but as your fingers begin massaging his heavy sac, his grip slackens.
“Kitten.”
His voice is strained.
But despite his threatening words, his grip loosens like his body has lost all will to resist.
It’s been a week since he last had you. He’s as pent up as you’d expect.
You stroke him through his pants with your free hand, watching his dark, unreadable expression.
“You never said anything about no sex in the elevator,” you murmur.
Before he can respond, you unbutton and unzip him in one smooth, practiced motion.
The mirror now reflects floor 23.
And then you drop to your knees.
Before he can even utter a protest, his briefs are down and your lips wrap around his length. You take him all at once, warm and slick and deep into your throat.
A groan tears from his chest, and his hand flies to your hair, instinctive and desperate.
“Get off-”
You suck harder in answer.
His cock slides deeper into your throat, your nose buried against his pelvis, eyes glistening with the effort as you fight the urge to gag.
He curses low under his breath. His legs tremble.
Your throat tightens and releases in rhythm, massaging him in a way he can't resist. His grip loosens, turning from restraint to encouragement.
Floor 29.
You look past your wet, fluttering eyelashes and lock onto his dark, undone eyes.
You bob your head steadily, filthily, letting slick sounds echo against the mirrored walls.
His brows draw together, lips parting as he exhales through clenched teeth. There's amusement in his eyes now, despite the tension in his jaw, the tightness in his hips.
Of course he likes this. Who's he trying to fool?
Floor 35.
“Mmh-”
A soft moan escapes your lips, muffled by his cock, as he nudges you to go faster up and down his length.
You stroke the base with your hand, jerking him as your mouth works his length. The way his deep breaths border on groans, the way his hips buckle every time you suck, the way his balls feel hard as you massage it with your hand, you know he’s close.
Floor 45.
Just as he’s about to tip over, you pull off with a wet pop.
He gasps, blinking in disbelief, flushed and furious and painfully hard.
You stand smoothly, adjusting your blouse, fingers nimbly buttoning each undone hole.
His eyes blaze. His cock is still fully erect, standing against his stomach, flushed and leaking.
But the elevator begins to slow.
Floor 48.
He looks at you, about to speak - probably to curse you out - but you step in quickly, fixing his pants, zipping him up, tucking in his shirt like nothing happened.
The doors slide open.
A small group of employees stands outside. You walk out casually, slipping past them like a shadow.
“Sylus! We were just on our way to your office for the 3pm meeting! What a coincidence.” Chirps a perky female voice.
“Charmed,” he mutters back, tone flat.
You don’t turn around. But as the doors begin to close again, you risk taking a last minute glance. You jolt to find out he’s still watching you - crimson eyes burning with restrained fury, humiliation and… hunger.
The doors shut, and he disappears behind polished steel.
Serves him right, you think.
That’s what he gets for being pretentious.
…Or so you try to tell yourself.
You swallow hard, heart still racing.
You try to ignore his last minute, furious gaze from floating back to your mind.
Surely, he’s not that mad. Right?
────── ❀•°❀°•❀ ──────
“Sylus- Daddy- please, I’m sorry! Please, just stop- ”
You find yourself pleading for forgiveness in his office a few hours later.
You’re bent over his desk, the surface rattling beneath your body as he pounds into you, deep and ruthlessly from behind.
It’s been an hour. You lost count of how many times you came. How many times he came.
Your shredded black tights cling uselessly to your thighs, soaked in slick and cum, both yours and his, dripping down all the way down to your ankles.
Perhaps you should’ve known it would end up like this from the moment he ripped your tights apart and didn’t even bother to undress you nor himself before burying himself inside. “Isn’t this what you wanted so badly, kitten?”
He growls, punctuating every word with a brutal thrust.
Your legs tremble violently beneath you, your hands scrambling for purchase against the wood as he holds your hips in place, unrelenting.
“You’re right,” he mutters, almost to himself, breath ragged. “I should’ve known better.”
Your moans melt into the sound of flesh slapping flesh, echoing off the office walls.
“No-sex rule, my ass,” he huffs with a dark chuckle, angling his hips just so - hitting your g-spot with surgical cruelty. “Right?”
You cry out, body locking up as another orgasm crashes into you. Your legs give out, but he catches you easily, keeping himself buried to the hilt as you squirt down his cock, your body trembling uncontrollably in his arms.
“A-ah—!”
Your mind barely resets as you slump back into his chest. You reach for his forearms wrapped around your waist, clutching him like he’s the only thing keeping you anchored.
Tilting your head back, you look up into his yet insatiable crimson eyes, and ignore the occasional twitching of your limbs and murmur, “Please, Sylus. I’m sorry. I won’t- I won’t do it again.”
You jolt as you feel him starting to slowly grind his hips against yours, again.
“What was that?” He teases.
“No- wait.” You plead out, urgently. “Don’t you have work to do?!”
Sylus chuckles and answers, pleasantly. “I made sure to finish everything before calling you in.” He purrs. “Told all my assistants to call it a day, even.” He grinds into you, his cock dragging torturously along your oversensitive walls. “ We’re the only ones on this floor.”
You choke out a moan in disbelief. You’re about to open your mouth to plead some more, when he brings his mouth close to your ear, his hot breath fanning over your skin.
“Which means,” He whispers, “No one’s coming to save you, kitten.”
You vow to
Never.
Ever.
Tease him again.

You guys. When I write smut. It just flows to me so naturally. I never considered myself to be on the perverted side. I don't know if I should be happy or sad at my new hobby. Lol.
By the way I edited the smutty part in chapter 9 (I felt like it didn't match the pacing of the current story.) Feel free to take a read if you're curious!

Chapter 10
The second morning waking up in Caleb’s arms feels a lot less awkward than the first.
It also feels like the fire that had been consuming you both has softened - burning quieter now, no longer flaring at every glance or brush of skin. Finally, a sliver of normalcy returns, where not every interaction is charged with heat.
And with the morning slipping back into something closer to routine, you begin to notice the quieter things.
Something softer, blooming.
You see it in the way Caleb glances at you between bites of his scrambled eggs, gaze impossibly gentle. The way he playfully insists on a kiss before letting you walk out the door. How he ruffles your hair and pinches your cheek in the elevator, utterly unbothered by the strangers around you. How he weaves his fingers through yours at every red light, bringing the back of your hand to his lips for a soft, contented kiss.
It’s as if a veil you didn’t realize was there has lifted, revealing a version of Caleb that’s more open, more expressive - radiant with joy in a way that feels utterly unfiltered. There’s something achingly sweet and thick about him now.
It’s endearing. And it does something to you, watching him so transparently happy.
It makes you wish you’d given this to him sooner.
You find yourself sinking into this version of him like a teabag into warm water - slowly, thoroughly, until there’s no separating where you end and he begins.
“What time do you think you’ll finish today?”
Caleb asks as he parks the car in the campus lot.
“By ten, probably. That’s what we agreed on.”
“Great. I’ll come get you.” He says while the car slows to a halt, and he adjusts the gear to parking.
“Sounds good.”
It’s what you promised him last night: if you’re out late, he picks you up. If you’re too busy to reply for hours, you promise to send at least one text. Or he’ll show up himself. "If that’s not too much to ask on pipsqueak’s part," as he’d said, dramatically, last night.
Caleb looks to you warmly and smiles. He reaches out to cup your face, to which you lean in and meet his tender violet gaze, recognizing the joy shimmering beneath it as you do. His hand strokes down from your hair to the small of your back, guiding you into a warm, full-bodied hug.
“Caleb.”
You murmur in quiet warning, glancing at him as you fight the urge to lean in. Instead, you pull back slightly, checking the windshield to see if anyone might be watching.
He chuckles at your nervousness. "Think people might get the wrong idea?”
“Well, everyone thinks we’re siblings… I doubt they even know we’re step siblings. Though that doesn’t exactly grant amnesty either.”
“…Right.” He tucks a loose strand of hair behind your ear before pulling his hand back.
You reach out and catch his fingers before they retreat fully, giving them a small squeeze beneath the window.
“Come on, we’ll be late.” You reach for the door handle, but he doesn’t let go of your hand.
”I wish we took the same courses.” He sighs while playing with your fingers. “12 hours seem like a little too much time not seeing each other. Don’t you think?”
The genuineness of his voice, alongside the tender squeezes of your hand tickle your heart.
“…I do have a few minutes between 6th period and the group project meeting.”
You admit, gaze lowering shyly at your suggestion implied in between the lines.
As you observe his face lighting up instantly, his eyes crinkling in delight, you can’t help a laugh. He looks like a puppy getting his favorite treat.
────── ❀•°❀°•❀ ──────
As if Caleb’s enthusiasm has rubbed off on you, classes stretch on endlessly today. You find your mind drifting more than once - imagining the flush in his smile, the easy brightness in his voice, the way his eyes soften when they land on you. And then, uninvited but no less vivid, you think of the other version of him - the one with dark, focused eyes that seem to burn straight through you.
You oscillate between warm and flushed all day like someone swinging between seasons.
Your friends notice your quiet sighs at lunch and ask if anything’s wrong.
After sixth period, you meet up with Caleb at the Auburn library. Perhaps it’s the fact that you have less than 15 minutes to spend with him.
You tell him you missed him, at which you half expect him to beam. Instead, his smile falters and darkens instead, into something heavier and heated.
He takes your hand without another word and leads you between the bookcases, until you’re tucked away in a back corner labeled “Russian Novels Translated to French.” Why it exists, you don’t know. But it’s secluded enough to make even you feel hidden from potential witnesses. He pulls you into his arms.
You quietly sigh as you feel his warmth engulf you like a blanket.
“We can quickly pull apart and pretend to be looking for a book if anyone walks by.”
Caleb whispers into the top of your head as his arms firmly wrap around you. As you pull him closer, arms around his waist, you feel his hardened length on your stomach.
“Do you even know how to read French?” You ask him, looking up.
His eyes are upturned into an amused smile as he replies, “No.” and leans in for a chaste, quiet kiss.
It’s just a brief second of contact, but the feeling of his soft and wet lips gently sucking yours is enough to chill the back of your neck with pleasure.
You know he feels the same, the way his breath slightly hitches and how he cups your face with both hands and leans in like he really means it.
The both of you kiss tenderly and slowly, careful to not make much sound - shuddered, suppressed breaths mixing and fanning across each other’s lips. Sucking gently again and again until it leaves both of you love drunk and dazed.
You’re both gently trembling when you pull back and bury your head in his chest, to which he responds by wrapping his arms around your shoulders and nuzzling your temple with his chin. "I might actually combust" He whispers, voice ragged. He tightens his arms as if proving a point. “And die.” He places his lips on your temple. “And I’d die happy.”
“Calm down, Shakespeare.” You quietly laugh at his overreaction and pull back slightly to look up.
His soft violet eyes shimmer with a mix of emotions - joy, love, awe, and a touch of… something you can’t quite place.
“Really.” He says, face dead pan serious. It makes you laugh more. “You don’t believe me?”
Rolling your eyes, you pull out your phone from your back pocket to check the time. You and Caleb both look down at the screen lighting up between your bodies. The digital clock says there’s less than five minutes left until the meeting.
“I should get going…” You say.
However, Caleb’s eyes are still glued to the screen. Reading something lower. You follow his gaze to find your piled message notifications.
“There’s a lot of guys… in your messages.” He says, flatly.
“I don’t reply to most of them.” You reply, carefully.
It’s true. The guy from orientation, a TA, a couple of classmates, someone from swim club… you barely know them, but they keep messaging you anyway - even when you don’t respond.
“There’s also Ethan and Lucas from high school. You talk to them often?”
You slightly attempt to pull back, but Caleb’s firm hands around your waist hold you tight against his muscular body.
“No, I don’t. Plus Lucas probably sent it to the group chat.”
Caleb’s gaze is a notch colder. You push against his chest gently, and this time, he lets go.
“Come on, we should get going.”
He exhales quietly behind you as you start walking. You hear his footsteps follow you through the library halls.
Once you reach the lobby, you think he’s going to leave. Instead, with an expression quieter than usual, he insists on walking you to the group meeting room.
You’re surprised along with your friends when Caleb walks into the meeting room with you. You watch their lovestruck expressions as Caleb smiles brightly and introduces himself as your brother. “Mia and Jasmine, right?” He pulls out a container packed with fruits as a study snack, and places it on the table before patting your head and leaving.
“…is your brother taken?” Mia asks, popping a grape into her mouth, still glancing at the door through which Caleb left a couple seconds ago. She shares a glance with Jasmine.
“…Yeah.” You mumble, torn between gratitude and a vague, inexplicable annoyance. “He is.”
────── ❀•°❀°•❀ ──────
The soft autumn breeze blows in your hair as you step outside the library. In the darkened campus you notice Caleb’s black Land Rover, punctual as always, headlights casting gentle shadows across the pavement.
You wave goodbye to your friends and make your way to the car. A mellow ballad hums softly through the speakers as you slide into the passenger seat.
“How was it?” he asks, greeting you with a light pat on the head before shifting the car into gear.
“So tiring,” you sigh, slinking back into the seat as the night lights blur past the window like falling stars streaking across the sky.
He lets out a chuckle. “Is there a lot to do?”
“Yeah. I don’t know how you made it through to junior year.”
“Maybe you freshmen are just trying too hard,” he teases. “You’ll settle into it. I can help, too.”
“You do seem to have a lot of free time. Weirdly.”
He laughs again. “I work hard. Just when you’re not looking. I was studying in a nearby library until now, too.”
“Really? Alone?”
“With Jessica and Ethan.” he says, eyes flicking to the rearview mirror as he makes a U-turn.
“Right.” Your heart pangs with at the mention of Jessica. You rapidly erase the image of the two sitting together at a table. You’d also been… pushing back what to do with the promise you had made to her. “Sounds fun.” You murmur anything really.
“If you think advanced calculus and a few hundred practice problems is fun, then yeah.”
“Do you really need to know all that to become a pilot?”
“Of course. Don’t you know pilots need to find the derivative when an engine malfunctions?”
You let out a half-laugh, half-sigh at his attempt at a joke.
“Hey-” you protest, and he reaches out and pinches your cheek, wiggles it with exaggerated glee before his hand softens - cupping your face, then trailing slowly down your chin, neck, shoulder, and finally your arm before retreating.
The air in the car warms a few degrees.
“You were good at replying today.” He says, eyes still on the road, his voice lower, almost velvety.
With your head turned away from him, looking out the window, you reach for his hand and lace your fingers through his, playing nonchalant and pretending your hand has a mind of its own.
“…I deserve a well done sticker, don’t I?”
────── ❀•°❀°•❀ ──────
You barely make it through the door before Caleb is on you - his lips catching yours in a hungry, breathless kiss. He presses you backward through the apartment, his arm braced behind you to keep you from stumbling as your feet clumsily skid across the hardwood floor.
You’ve barely done anything and yet his breaths are ragged like he’s run miles. You’d expected his arousal since you had noticed the tent in his pants in the elevator ride up to the apartment. And how he’d subtly hid it while a neighbor on your floor waved high to the both of you and made small talk. But you didn’t expect him to devour you immediately, like this.
You open your eyes in a desperate attempt to ground yourself, and see his eyes squeezed shut, brows knit in sheer concentration. He’s so intensely focused, it’s unfairly sexy.
You gasp as he grinds into you, slow and desperate, and your knees give out beneath you. The two of you collapse onto the floor in a tangle of limbs, landing hard enough to knock the air from your lungs, with only Caleb’s hand beneath your head and back to prevent you from hurting.
As his hands reach for the zipper of your pants, you catch them with your own, breathless.
“Wait - I haven’t showered yet…” you whisper, flustered.
But Caleb doesn’t flinch. His hands, still resting atop yours, tighten just slightly as his gaze drags up to meet yours - glassier than you expect.
“It’s okay,” he murmurs, voice thick. “I prefer it. Even.”
You flush at his honesty. And then he leans in, pressing his nose into the curve of your neck and breathing in deeply, like he can’t get enough. A low groan leaves his throat as he exhales against your skin.
A shiver runs down your spine.
He unbuckles your pants, to which you pathetically and half-heartedly try to stop - a last attempt at dignity - before you feel his fingers on your groin and your head falls back with a soft, helpless moan.
“You’re drooling down here.” He says, voice ragged, with amused eyes that are darkened with desire. The way his hair is tousled, revealing his smooth forehead and eyebrows, the way he’s completely focused and disheveled - the image etches itself onto your brain. “See?”
You slap away his wet, glistening fingers as he holds them up in front of you to tease you.
He chuckles as he lowers it again, his thumb rubbing your bud as his other fingers rub across the wet fabric down to the hollow of it. Slow, and steadily.
You bite your lip, eyes fluttering.
Heat builds in your stomach, and your body starts to beg in anticipation for a pleasure you’ve repetitively drowned yourself in the past two days. Pleasure that’s become too addictive.
“Caleb-” You whine as you feel the burning urge for more. You tug at his pants. “Please…”
That’s all it takes.
He shifts, shucking off his own clothes with single-minded efficiency, then peels yours away just as quickly, until there’s nothing between you but heat and breath and want.
“A good girl deserves a reward,” he murmurs, voice thick with restraint, before settling between your thighs.
You gasp, fingers threading through his hair as he begins to kiss you there- slow at first, then deeper and bolder. His mouth moves with a maddening tenderness, as if savoring every inch of you. Every flick of his tongue, every soft suck draws out sounds from you you didn’t know you could make.
Your legs try to close around him instinctively, but he pins them gently apart with steady big, hot hands, while his sharp nose buries itself in your clit as he licks your fold down to your opening.
And as you hear him taking deep, vocal breaths, you look beyond your fluttering eyelids to catch the sight of him stroking himself slowly while sucking you deep. His cock is fully erect and squelching from precum.
You think you understand what he means to feel like you’re about to combust.
The sight pushes you over the edge - your body tightening, trembling under the flood of sensation.
“Caleb, wait, I’m - “
Despite your attempts to peel him off, he grips onto your soft thighs more firmly and sucks faster, to which you moan and gasp - before jaggedly bursting all over his face. And it’s true - it’s like your opening is drooling sloppily and stupidly with every burst and moan. He takes it all, drinking you in, lost in it, until you finally sag back to the floor, boneless and dazed.
Only then does he straighten his posture.
His face is flushed, lips swollen, chin slick with the evidence of your pleasure. He looks drunk on desire - half-ruined and half-ecstatic.
You sit up to wipe his face with trembling hands, and he closes his eyes, letting you.
But just as your fingertips brush across his cheek, you feel it - a slow press, deliberate and unyielding.
“Gotta loosen you up, hm?”
You gasp as his fingers slip inside you again.
Your body, already trembling from the last wave, jerks at the slightest touch against your sensitive walls. The floor beneath you is slick with arousal, and your thighs jolt as the wet sound of it echoes in the quiet room.
For a moment, your hand forgets what it was doing - caught halfway inside your shirt - while your gaze locks with his. You fall into his dark, demanding eyes, helplessly, like being pulled under a tide.
The rhythm of his fingers quickens, and your breath unravels with it. The aftershocks haven’t even faded, but he’s already coaxing you toward another. You clutch his wrist with shaking hands, but it’s too late.
You see his eyes flicker as you come again - fast and hard - your mind blanking as pleasure surges through you like electricity.
Dazed, you lie there for a moment, eyes tracing the pale ceiling above, trying to gather the pieces of yourself. But then, just as your breath begins to steady, you feel it again - his fingers, slow and insistent, nudging at your entrance once more.
You jolt, a small gasp slipping out as your hand flies to his wrist.
“Caleb. Please-”
His pupils are blown wide. A faint smile tugs at the corner of his lips - still swollen and kiss-bitten - like he’s barely holding himself back.
“Please what?” He murmurs, his voice low enough to hum through your chest.
You swallow. Your voice trembles.
“Please put it in…”
He looks at you like he’s expecting another answer.
“You gotta put it more clearly than that.”
The way his voice strains - you know he wants it as much as you do. But you decide to play along. You don’t have it in you to argue. Not right now.
You exhale shakily. The flush rising in your cheeks burns hotter than any touch.
“Please, I want your cock inside of me.”
It doesn’t take him long to get the condom.
You feel your mind fading white as he finally presses into you, slow and deep. His long, satisfied groan rings in your ears beyond the translucent curtains of pleasure.
“Ngh-”
You pant and lock eyes with his as he moves excruciatingly slow, in and out of you. Pulses of pleasure wash over your entire body like shallow waves on a shore.
He doesn’t even dare blink as he watches your face warp in various forms of pleasure.
“Caleb,” you whisper, voice barely audible. You reach for him, fingers tangling behind his neck. He leans down instantly, lips brushing yours in tender, breathless kisses.
“I love you.”
He says it softly in your ear, like a prayer whispered in the dark.
“I love you, so so much.”
He whispers again. Another kiss. Another breath.
You tighten your arms around his neck.
“These past few days have felt like a dream.”
He continues like a prayer, voice hot on your skin as he continuously rolls his hips against yours, deep and slowly. You can feel the folds within you slide up, and slide down with the movements of his cock.
“I don’t ever want to wake up.”
The way he whispers it slowly, reverently into your ears tugs at your heart strings vividly, and you feel your eyes sting.
“I love you too,” you manage, voice hoarse and shaking.
“Mmh-”
He lets out a short moan at what you say. His breaths become instantly ragged and his hips start moving faster, like he can’t hold back any longer.
He pumps into you like he’s done so many times the past two days. The wave that was silently washing onto shore turns into those of a storm, getting larger and larger, violently crashing into you with every thrust.
You and him just fit so well like a puzzle - you wonder how other people are able to function in their everyday lives when sex feels this good - this mind bogglingly good - each time.
You choke out moans bordering on screams as a jolt runs through you with each clap. You think you can see stars.
Caleb responds just as sensitively, moaning and panting your name religiously, each breath cutting off violently as if he can’t stand the sheer pleasure coursing through him. You feel the tension in him rising with each jagged thrust.
You feel the biggest wave yet looming in the horizon. As his thrusts become deeper and faster, with one strong stroke, his thick, throbbing tip hits your most sensitive spot, and the peak crashes into you with blinding force. Your body seizes, your breath ripped from your lungs in a cry as the pleasure slams through you. Your mind flashes with hot, all-consuming pleasure.
A beat later, Caleb groans low against your neck and follows you over the edge, hips snapping one last time as he buries himself deep. His body trembles and jerks with each release.
He pulls out and collapses on top of you. For a long moment, you stay like that. Tangled, sweat-damp, and breathless. You feel his heart pounding in rhythm with yours, fast and full and alive.
He cups your cheek and brings his head close, resting his forehead against yours like he can’t bear even an inch of distance. His breath is warm, steady, brushing against your skin as he nuzzles into the curve of your temple. One arm remains snug around your waist while the other traces idle, loving strokes down your arm - fingertips light, reverent, like he’s memorizing every shape of you.
Soft kisses follow: at your hairline, your cheek, the edge of your brow. None of them rushed. Each one placed with a kind of patient devotion that makes your heart ache.
And it’s then, in that quiet, post-storm stillness, that you realize that he has been holding back. Not just in what he does, but in how much he feels.
Because this - this tender, unhurried flood of affection - it’s fuller, heavier, denser than it was just two days ago. Back on Sunday night, looking back on it, you realize he was still restrained, careful, and testing the edges of what was allowed.
But now that you’ve dunk yourself into him, what is spilling out is something bigger, sweeter, and hungrier.
His wants and desires seem to really run much deeper and thicker than you could have possibly imagined. It’s deep, consuming, terrifying in its depth.
You feel yourself sinking into him, inch by inch, willingly. Letting the weight of him pull you down like gravity, further and further into the dark center of him.
And somewhere in that quiet descent, a question floats to the surface of your mind - How deep really, does his love go? and what happens if you sink too far?
You thought Sylus was just your mysterious, well-dressed sugar daddy. Then you landed an internship - only to discover he’s the CEO.

“You think you have a chance with me?”
You can’t help the disgust that floats to your face as you stare down the plain, absolutely mid male specimen standing across from you, face reddening with anger, embarrassment or both - you don’t really care. The audacity to ask for your number. Who does he think he is?
“I- Who do you think you are?”
He stutters in disbelief.
You scoff at his stupid question.
“Someone out of your league. That’s who I am.”
You ignore the growing crowd of passersby, too busy eavesdropping to move along.
You cross your arms, weight on one leg, as your pink, shiny miu miu purse hangs from your wrist.
“That doesn’t mean you can be an asshole?”
He fixes his black backpack, which, is as bland and boring as his looks.
“Actually. It does. Why should I be nice to someone who insults me?”
You rake your shiny nails through your long hair.
“I just asked for your number!”
He exclaims, both hands out in disbelief. ”Exactly.”
You say, flatly. Looking at him straight in the eyes.
He must’ve realized you’re a class A bitch that can’t be reasoned with. Though he looks infuriated, he shakes his head and starts walking off.
“You need a therapist.”
He says, turning his head back one last time.
“And you need a reality check!”
You shout, smug smile on your face as you watch him scurry off in embarrassment.
Head high, you continue down the campus road to your destination.
You ignore people - guys, as usual - staring your way as you beeline for the sleek black Maserati parked by the road.
You open the passenger door and climb in.
“Someone looks happy today.”
A familiar velvety voice greets you from the driver’s seat.
You ignore his gaze on you as you fasten your seatbelt and settle your bag in the car.
“Rather, it’s the opposite.” You open the glove box and roam for your sunglasses. “Some ugly guy just asked for my number.”
You look to Sylus as you wear them.
His easy-going crimson eyes are upturned into an amused smile.
“Why do guys do that?”
“Why do guys do what. Ask for a beautiful girl’s number?” He asks, patiently.
“Ask for someone way out of their league.” You huff.
“A guy can shoot his shot.” Sylus shrugs and answers.
“Well, it’s insulting. Is what it is.” You sink down in your seat as Sylus chuckles and adjusts the gear. The car starts smoothly coursing through and out of the campus.
“So did you give him a lesson, kitten?” He asks you, eyes fixed on the road. “Is that why you look so happy today?”
“What do you mean by that?” You shoot him a sharp look, to which he smirks. “Not as much as I would’ve liked. The more I think about it. The more it infuriates me.”
“Well then,” Sylus says, voice low and easy, “I guess our kitten should buy something extra special today.”
“Oh daddy.” You hide a laugh behind your hand as you stroke his firm, thick biceps, fitted around his crimson shirt, as they flex under your touch. “You spoil me!”
────── ❀•°❀°•❀ ──────
Sylus was a peculiar man. You’d had your fair share of sugar daddys, but none quite like Sylus.
In his early-40s, he was as handsome as they come - well defined, manly features honed into a strikingly, almost obsessive clean cut appearance, alongside his toned, muscular body.
The air he carried himself with asserted dominance without him even trying. There was a particular easy-going nature about him that could only be found in predators at the very top of the food chain.
So when he had suggested the particular relationship, it was like you’d hit the jackpot.
He’d spoil you with the most expensive things - from jewelry to bags, a vacation in Europe with private jets and five star hotel exclusive suites. And you’d also get to enjoy his handsome, funny, gentle, and dashing company!
But for some reason, even after months of meeting, he wouldn’t cross the line like so many others try to do eventually. He wouldn’t ask anything personal, like your family life or your closest friends. He wouldn’t get jealous, or possessive. He wouldn’t be needy about texting.
But most of all, he wouldn’t ask you to do any sexual favors.
Most he would do was place a hand around your waist as you walked or sat beside him, or pull you in for an embrace or a chaste peck on your forehead.
For some reason his gentlemanly stature made you crazy adamant on seducing him. Coerce him, push him over the edge, until he breaks the facade and makes the first move. Begs you to let him touch you.
You wouldn’t do any thing overly suggestive. That would make you the loser.
You’d linger your touches just a slight. Accidentally press your chest into him as you walked through a busy street. Touch his thigh as you laughed at something funny he said. Whisper in his ear when you didn’t really need to. Meet his gaze. Really, meet his gaze, with a suggestiveness hard to ignore.
It wasn’t long until he unraveled.
Now, after a few years into the sugardaddy-baby relationship, sex had become something he’d demanded exclusivity. Of course, with extra benefits alongside the extra condition.
Most times, like today, he’d pick you up and go for a date - some shopping, dining, and then to a hotel or his place. Sometimes, he’d call you impromptu. And you were to drop anything you were doing and visit wherever he was to have sex with him. Sometimes it would be in a car, parked remotely. Or in a fancy hotel where he was in the middle of a meeting of some sort, with some fancy business men, in a meeting hall. Or in the restroom of a fancy restaurant, for some reasons unknown.
But despite all this, he would never tell you where he worked, or what he did for a living. It made you almost certain he was a drug dealer. Or a mafia boss. of some sort.
“Ah, fuck- yes. Daddy, fuck me right there-”
Your scream echoes through the expansive hotel suite as Sylus pounds you from behind. The sound of skin slapping skin, alongside the lewd sound of squelching - from a mixture of your own juices to his cum - play in the background.
“You like that, kitten?” His fingers thread through your hair as he grips it and pulls your head back to face him. You nod, tears in your eyes from the ecstatic pleasure. Through the tears you meet his eyes, dark and focused, almost angry from pleasure and need.
It sends a shiver down your spine.
“Ah- if you clench like that,” A slap comes down on your ass. You moan and bury your head in the sheets. It elicits a groan from him. “-daddy’s going to have to cum again.” His deep, ragged voice scolds you, as he thrusts deeper.
Every thrust starts sending a jolt up your spine. Your body starts to tremble. Your moans muffle in the sheets.
“Raise your hips.” He orders, as your posture begins to falter. You try, but your limbs feel like jello.
He places his large two hands on your hips and sharply brings it up - just in time with a deep, controlled thrust, down to the very base of his length, his pubic bone burying itself in your ass - his glans hits your g-spot so hard, you end up screaming his name while squirting all over his cock.
“Sylus- wait- I’m still cumming-!”
You urgently exclaim as he doesn’t give you a moment to calm down. He grips your hips as you jerk and attempt to run away from the pleasure, and pounds into it relentlessly, ignoring your complaints.
“Ah, kitten, feeling, good?” He growls between each thrust. You shake your head in plea to stop the overwhelming pleasure washing over you. Another slap comes down on your ass. “Don’t lie, to daddy, you’re still squirting, so much. Ah, fuck, I told you I’m gonna cum if you clench like that-”
His groans get deeper and messier, as his thrusts that pound down relentlessly fast. The bedframe rattles as your body slams into the mattress with each fast thrust. You don’t even have it in you to moan anymore. Your mouth is agape while your body jerks and trembles while he pounds into you, until one strong thrust, where Sylus groans, deep and dirty, and you feel his cum shooting inside and coating your walls, thick and hot.
“You’re still shaking.” You hear him say from behind you, breathless, as he pulls out his length from you. You twitch again as you feel him pushing the leaking cum back in you with the tip of his length.
“I think you get more sensitive each time we do it.” He says as he turns you over to inspect you.
Dazed, you meet his languid, gentle eyes.
“Maybe my insides are slowly molding to yours.” You manage to say, swallowing hard to calm yourself down.
He leans in to press a tender kiss.
“Don’t say things like that, kitten.” He warns, after pulling back.
“Why not?” You ask him as he lies down beside you and pulls you in for an embrace.
“It’ll make me greedier.” His lips curl into a smirk.
“What’s wrong with that?”
“Well, for starters. You have a bright future ahead of you.” He states, matter of fact.
You don’t fully understand what he says.
“Not really. Oh- right! I forgot to tell you.” You meet his inquisitive gaze as you excitedly chatter. “I got a marketing internship this summer!”
“Really? Well congratulations!” He pats your head affectionately. “At what company?”
“Onychinus!” You notice his eyes flicker. “I don’t know if you’ve heard of it. It’s a really big international trading company - apparently mostly for minerals and ores!”
“Oh really? That’s great news.” He chuckles. “When do you start?”
“June first.”
“In two weeks, huh.” His eyes have an amused light in them. “Do they pay you well?”
“As much as a grain of sand compared to you. But what can I do. That’s life, I guess.”
Sylus chuckles like he’s heard the funniest joke all week. “Right, right. If they paid all their interns as much as I do to you, I think they would have a hard time.”
“So what do you do that makes you able to spend so much money on me, huh? boss-man?” You narrow your eyes and attempt to pry his life again. Your attempt at a threatening face seems to have no effect on him.
“Oh kitten, don’t worry.” He says, amused smile playing at his lips, while he gently cups your face, his thumb stroking your jaw tenderly. “You’ll find out when the time comes.”
────── ❀•°❀°•❀ ──────
On the first day of your internship, you head to the fifth floor of Onychinus head quarters - where your international digital marketing team office is located.
You’re surprised to find out that a lot of the employees at Onychinus are greatly loyal to the company. Everyone welcomes you to the family, and, though it’s only been a couple of hours, you find yourself getting swept up by the company pride everyone feels.
It doesn’t take you long to figure out the reason behind the loyalty though - apparently the CEO is hot. Like, panty dropping hot. Apparently it’s your lucky day if you get to see him walk the first floor lobby to work, where he will then take his exclusive elevator to the top most floor, to the CEO’s office.
So you’re not surprised when a collective gasp erupts from your team mates as you were lounging by the lobby cafe, drink in hand.
“Y/n! That’s the CEO! Look!” An excited co-worker taps you and whispers in your ear.
You turn to look.
You meet eyes with familiar, crimson ones, looking directly at you.
Your jaw drops at the sight of Sylus, your sugar daddy, walking through the lobby with a dozen escorts behind him.
The way the path paves itself, how everyone gawks, how he carries himself, how he commands, there’s no mistake that he’s the CEO everyone’s been talking about.
He smirks knowingly and shares a glance with you, before turning away and heading to the elevators. To his exclusive elevator everyone talks about.
“Geez Y/n, did you fall in love at first sight?” A co-worker laughs and points out, just as the lobby begins buzzing after Sylus leaves.
You press your lips shut after realizing they’d been parted this whole time. Your face flushes from embarrassment.
“He is dashing” Another says, eyes glazed over as if stuck in a daydream.
“I heard he’s not married. Who do you think a guy like him meets?”
“Probably a super model. Or an A class actor.”
You quietly listen in on the gossip for the rest of lunch.
When you return back to your office seat, you wonder if you should send him a text about it.
Something along the lines of, why didn’t you tell me earlier? like, years ago? I thought you were a drug dealer!
You’re bordering on exasperation and anger he didn’t tell you sooner, and curiosity and relief that you finally found out, when an employee quietly approaches your desk.
He’s dressed in a fancy suit, like the ones that were escorting Sylus down at the lobby earlier.
You look at him inquisitively before he leans in and whispers in your ear.
“The CEO would like to see you now. Privately.”
You nod and follow him through the building halls. A small smirk plays on your lips as you rummage through a million scenarios to find the one that will successfully corner Sylus and make him admit his fault for not telling you sooner.
And, just like always, you will get your way.

Hope you guys enjoyed this as much as I enjoyed writing it 🥴
You still can’t forget the day you met Caleb for the first time.
You were clutching your mother’s hand. It had been two years since she had stopped holding it back. Her fingers stayed limp in your grip, but you refused to let go. You glanced up at her to see her dull eyes light up at the sight of two people walking towards you - a man with cold, barren eyes, and a young boy who looked too tired for his age.
Though the boy looked not much older than you, there was a maturity to him that made it hard for you to look away. And the moment you locked eyes with him, you knew instinctively that he was deprived of the same thing you were.
You took an immediate liking to him without fully realizing why. You latched on like a bug, and, Caleb, who had every right to be annoyed, didn’t push you away. Rather, he anchored you back. Treated you like you were his duty. He’d pick you up when you scraped your knee. Braid your hair clumsily when your mother forgot. Talk back to protect you when his dad got abusive. He soon filled the empty void in your heart, and you could tell his was filling too, by giving love to you.
He was the hearth of your life.
So when you wake and feel Caleb’s rhythmic breathing tickling your skin, his arms loosely wrapped around you as he sleeps soundly beside you, you’re not sure what to feel anymore.
The memory of last night hits all at once. Skin on skin. Heat, sweat, and soft cries. Mind-numbing pleasure. By the end, your eyes had barely stayed open - and through the haze, you swear you remember him whispering your name, looking at you like you were holding his bare heart in your hands.
You’d expected things to shift once you crossed that line. But you hadn’t expected it to change like this. As sweet and intoxicating as it is, it scares you. The one constant in your life, the one who always grounded you - your relationship with him is shifting too quickly, like a pendulum reaching its tipping point.
You turn your head to view his sleeping profile comfortably. His brown hair falls onto his smooth, convex forehead while his long eyelashes are shut closed. His sharp nose lets out deep, rhythmical breathing, and his pink lips are slightly parted.
He’s so sound asleep that it’s endearing.
You wonder how he’s so comfortable with this sudden change.
You slowly free one hand from under his arm and brush a few loose strands of hair from his face.
Then you lean in and press a soft kiss to his nose.
His arms tighten around you in response.
“…!”
You blink, startled, as he lets out a low groan and pulls you closer, your face pressed to the curve of his neck as he exhales deeply into your hair. The scent of his skin, warm and familiar, fills your lungs, and the heat of his bare body radiates into yours. It’s grounding and dizzying all at once.
“Sorry, did I wake you?” You murmur, lifting your face slightly so as you don’t mumble into his skin. You note the hoarseness of your voice with a wince.
“…Don’t worry about it” He half-sighs, half-murmurs, voice rough and low with sleep. His hand finds your hair, stroking gently. “You feeling alright?”
“Yeah?” you reply, but it comes out more like a question.
“Does it hurt anywhere?”
He pulls back, searching your face with eyes so soft they almost seem liquid - amethyst with a touch of gold. When you meet his gaze, his smile blooms, and he leans in for a quick peck. It’s featherlight, but it sets your heart fluttering.
“Well… I sound like a monster.” You say. Your voice is so croaky you almost don’t remember what you usually sound like.
He chuckles. “You need hot tea. Anything else?”
You shift under the sheets, stretching slightly. Your body aches here and there, but nothing sharp or unbearable.
“I don’t think so… just a bit sore.”
“That’s good. I was worried I went overboard…”His voice is so gentle, it almost vibrates through you. “Was it okay?”
“It was… good.”
Your cheeks flush even as you say it, suddenly shy.
“Really?” he says, breaking into a wide, gummy grin.
You nod.
“I loved it too.” He says, his voice catching like he’s overwhelmed. He pulls you even closer - the way he presses into you and tangles his limbs with yours - it’s like he’s trying to figure out a way to merge into you. “It was amazing.”
He starts to shower your face with kisses. From your forehead to your fluttering eyelids, the bridge of your nose, your cheeks, everywhere.
You can’t help the smile that creeps up your face as he does it.
“Hey, your stubble burns-” you grumble, rubbing your finger against his chin to prove your point.
“This, pipsqueak, is what you call the epitome of manhood.”
You roll your eyes. He’s winding up to say something cocky again. You try to pull your hand back, but he catches it and presses it against his jaw.
“Now why’re you making that face? You were happy about my manhood last night, when I made you cum so hard, so many-“
You place both of your hands on his mouth to get him to shut up. Your face is burning while Caleb bursts into laughter, pulling you tighter by the waist.
“Have some decency, Caleb.”
“My bad. My bad.”
His deep chuckle vibrates through your chest. He cups your face, this time finding your lips. You trade soft, teasing kisses, like baby birds pecking, until each one grows longer, more tender, melting into the next until you’re breathless, dazed and drunk.
The way his soft lips suction yours - it’s strangely addictive.
The atmosphere soon becomes heated like the night before. You meet his dark eyes again and feel yourself getting swept up in it. You also notice something hard and heavy resting against your thigh.
But you also remember-
“Wait-“
As Caleb comes in to kiss you one more time, angling his face like he means it, you place a hand on his muscular shoulder and push him gently.
“What time is it?” You say out loud.
You ignore his weight on your collarbone as he huffs and rests his head on it, as you twist to reach your phone on the nightstand. His large, calloused hands strokes lazily at your waist.
“It’s one in the afternoon!” You exclaim, looking at the time on the screen.
You pat his back. He doesn’t budge, face still buried in your shoulder.
“Caleb get up. We both have classes at two.”
You stroke his shoulders, down past his shoulder blades to his back in big motions - an attempt at being tender with him. You feel his muscles twitch under your palm.
Suddenly, he bursts up from bed, lifting you with him so you straddle him like a child.
You let out a small sound as you hang onto his neck for dear life. Your head grazes against the ceiling as Caleb stands on the bed, like it’s a podium, and he’s the gold medalist.
“Since we are running out of time, I’ll be pipsqueak’s personal maid today. How about we shower together first?”
You pinch his cheek as he leans in to kiss you again, stepping off the bed and striding toward the bathroom.
“I think this maid is full of ulterior motives.” You say, as you feel something hard bump against your ass with each step.
“I don’t know what you’re talking about.”
You hear him merrily hum a familiar tune - his favorite rock band song - as he lets you down.
You absentmindedly turn around to view your reflection in the bathroom mirror - and gasp.
You look terrible. Your face is swollen, your hair, which dried haphazardly while you were in various unnatural positions, is a mess, your lips looks like it was stung by a bee, and red and purple marks bloom across your skin - on your thighs all the way up to your neck.
You look towards the cause of it all - standing behind you, now silent and gauging your reaction through the mirror - and you can hear the gears in his head turn as he searches for the right answer to give you.
“…It looks good on you?”
“How am I supposed to go to swim practice like this?”
“…Sorry,” he says softly, wrapping his arms around your shoulders and pulling you close. “I got carried away. I won’t do it again.” He kisses your neck between words. “Will you forgive me?”
As you feel his hot breath on your sensitive skin, any complaints you had at the tip of your tongue fly away like the puffs of a dandelion.
────── ❀•°❀°•❀ ──────
You stare absentmindedly at the blackboard at the front of the lecture hall.
You ended up kissing Caleb - fervently, desperately - and getting each other off in the shower, again.
You feel like your brain is fried.
Surely you must’ve gotten dumber.
You sigh and drink hot tea from your stainless water bottle - something Caleb was adamant on packing for you, alongside a simple sandwich - before the two of you left the house.
Speak of the devil - your phone screen lights up as a new message arrives from him.
[Listen well in class :D And let me know if you feel off or anything, ok?]
You smile and type in a simple reply.
[ok <3]
Then you notice a message from Ethan. It’s from yesterday.
[Did you get home ok?]
It must’ve arrived shortly after you arrived home, but you were busy up until now doing… other things. You shortly pause before sending a reply.
[Sorry, just saw this. Yeah, you?]
His response is crazy fast. You see it turn read as soon as you send it.
[Yeah. I mean, you dropped me off. lol]
Another message piles below.
[It was fun. We should hang out again some time :)]
You notice the professor walk up to the podium and start the lecture.
You rapidly send a reply and tuck your phone in your bag.
[Yeah me too. Sure!]
────── ❀•°❀°•❀ ──────
You internally groan as the professor announces a team project due during midterms. As if echoing your soul, a collective groan ripples through the classroom.
When class ends, you agree to partner up with the only two friends you’ve made in your major - both seated next to you.
“It’s a tough schedule. How about we just get it over with this week?”
You nod, and the three of you decide to meet during the shared free period.
You head to the library together, bags slung over your shoulders.
“By the way Y/N, isn’t it way too early to wear turtle neck?” One of them tell you as you leave the lecture hall. “Aren’t you hot?”
“Not really. I have-” You cough to make it sound believable. “-a cold.”
“Tell me about it. You sound like a witch.”
You gape at her. She laughs at your expression.
“It’s not that bad?” You ask, in your defense.
“It might be a slight exaggeration.”
As you walk, you notice your phone lighting up with Caleb’s name on it. You pick up the phone while your friends talk about something involving class.
“Hello?”
[Done with class pipsqueak?]
His voice has a bright, excited edge to it.
“Yeah? What’s up?”
[Where are you? I’ll head over.]
“I’m heading with my friends to the Auburn Library. You don’t need to come?”
[…Right. What about after your physics class? Should we get dinner out?]
“I might have dinner with my friends. We need to talk about a group project. Besides, don’t we usually get dinner separately on Mondays? I’ll see you at home?”
[Sure. Okay then. See you at home.]
You note the slight fall of his tone.
“Yeah, see you.”
You end the call to see both your friends looking at you with great interest.
“Who’s that?” One of them asks.
“My brother-”
You awkwardly pause mid-sentence. Flashes of skin on skin intrude your mind.
Brother? Step-brother? boyfriend?
You stare back at their puzzled looks as you swallow down the guilt and force the sentence out.
“Yeah, my brother. He was just asking about dinner.”
“You’re so lucky.” Your friend sighs. “My brother wouldn’t care less if I starved on the street. You guys are, like, really close huh?”
“…Yeah. I guess so.”
You manage a smile and the conversation moves on.
The heat you get swept up in when you’re with him, and the ice cold plunge when you have to talk about what the two of you are.
You wonder if you’ll ever stop flinching at the difference.
────── ❀•°❀°•❀ ──────
Caleb is already home when you arrive - typing on his laptop on the couch with the TV on, its noise barely filling the space. He looks up the moment you walk in.
“Hey,” you say, smiling.
“Hey. Busy day, huh?”
You drop your bag and stretch, yawning. “Tell me about it. Group project stuff took forever. I might have to meet up with them a few more times this week.”
He hums in response.
You head to the kitchen to get some water, phone in hand.
You smile at some random picture your classmate sent you in the group project chat, while pouring yourself a glass of water.
You nearly drop the glass you’re about to drink when you feel Caleb’s arms wrapping around you gently.
When did he get this close? You didn’t hear a thing.
“Next time, call me if it gets too late. I’ll come get you.”
He says, mouth close to your ear. You feel his chest flush against your back.
“I shared an uber with my friend. It’s fine, she lives near by. I don’t want to bother you.”
You turn around to meet his eyes. He shifts his hands so that they rest on the counter, enclosing you between.
“Not calling me bothers me more,” he says, voice low. “I was worried. You know how dangerous it gets out there this late. Plus, you aren’t exactly in the best condition.”
“I texted you that I was riding with her,” you reply, your tone flat - just bordering on defensive.
His eyes turn few degrees colder.
“Seconds before getting in the car,” he says quietly. “After hours of silence. Might I add.”
“I was working on the project.”
You frown. He doesn’t usually make an issue out of this.
You try to brush it off and move past him, but his hand catches your wrist before you can.
He turns you gently - but firmly - back around.
“Caleb,” you say, the irritation slipping into your voice. “You’re making this a bigger deal than it is.”
He scoffs softly, shaking his head.
A bitter smile tugs at his lips, but it doesn’t reach his eyes.
“You know… I’m thinking maybe I’m the only one who can’t stop thinking about yesterday.”
His gaze is fixed on you - earnest and intense - maybe a little too much.
“I want to be with you all the time. Every second. But maybe…” he trails off, voice lowering, “you don’t feel the same.”
You exhale, chest tightening.
“That’s not true,” you say gently. “I just… I had things to do. It doesn’t mean I didn’t think about you.”
He studies you for a beat longer, then finally steps back with a short sigh.
“Sorry, pips. I didn’t mean to make you uncomfortable.”
“It’s fine.” You say, this time reaching out to lace your fingers with his, to which he flinches ever so slightly.
You take this opportunity to speak out about what’s been on your mind.
“I just… feel like I can’t keep up either.”
His brows knit, gaze softening with concern.
“With the pace of all this,” you add. “I mean, we’ve known each other for ten years. And now suddenly… everything’s different. You seem so sure, like it’s the most natural thing in the world. But for me…”
You trail off, unsure how to put it into words.
Caleb squeezes your hand gently.
“You think this is fast?” he repeats, a low chuckle escaping his throat. “If I told you I’ve been holding back more than you can imagine… how would you feel about that?”
“…You’re holding back?” you echo, eyes widening slightly.
He doesn’t answer right away.
Instead, he steps closer and wraps his arms around you, pulling you against him. You feel it immediately - his arousal, solid and unmistakable, pressing into your stomach. The sheer rawness of it heats you up in an instant.
“I get like this just from thinking about you,” he murmurs near your ear, his voice low and sinful, almost reverent.
Like a prayer, or a confession.
You swallow. “Since when?”
He pauses.
“…Would it matter?” he says at last. “But after last night… it’s like I can’t think straight anymore.”
He pulls back just enough to meet your eyes.
You feel yourself slipping into the grasps of his deep, intoxicating gaze.
“Won’t you take responsibility?”
His voice is low. Though its melody is wrapped in devotion, its content is daring.
You nod. For some reason you’re trembling from anticipation.
He looks at you, waiting.
Hesitant, you lean in and press your lips to his.
He deepens the kiss instantly. He grabs your chin and angles it to lock you in place.
The kiss is more like a statement than a tender act.
But for some reason it gets you riled up.
You moan, shamelessly against his mouth, to which he answers with a deep, aching sound of his own.
You stagger back until your knees bump against the edge of the couch. You sink into it, breathless, while he leans over you, still pressing you in with a relentless kiss.
You break the contact with a gasp, lungs burning, chest rising and falling like you’ve just surfaced from underwater.
But he leans in again, chasing your mouth like he can’t bear the distance. You quickly press a hand to his chest, pushing him back.
You meet his eyes that are a little bit too focused and dark, again, like the first time you kissed him. That undercurrent of hunger that feels deeper than just desire.
Though he’s usually easy going, you’ve started to notice that he gets uncharacteristically intense every time things get heated up.
Dazed, your breath still ragged, you stare at him. And, as if he can’t wait, he urgently brings his mouth to your ears to suck them tenderly.
“Mm- Caleb…”
Your voice trembles as your fingers clutch his shoulders, body melting back into the cushions.
Then, as if the angle isn’t good enough for him, he shifts. In one smooth motion, he pulls you forward and settles onto the couch, rearranging you until you’re straddling him, chest to chest.
You jolt as his rock hard erection grinds into your groin.
You look down to see the grey fabric of his sweatpants visibly damp - darkened from how badly he wants you.
With his mouth still on your ear, warm, wet, and unrelenting, you impulsively bring your hand down and palm him over his sweatpants, fingers pressing into the shape of him. He lets out a sharp, choked moan that borders on a whimper.
Encouraged, you knead him slowly, feeling the way he twitches in your grasp. His breath stutters, and his head drops to your shoulder, lips grazing your skin as he pants.
You tug lightly at the waistband of his sweats. Caleb lifts his hips slightly, helping you, and with one motion, you pull them down.
His leaking length springs free, already flushed and leaking.
You're used to the sight of him now, but it still makes your breath catch.
You wrap your hand around the base, slicking him with the precum that beads at the tip, gliding your fingers up and down in a slow, deliberate rhythm.
The way he moans, and how his hips buck ever so slightly into your hand - how he’s so responsive to you - it makes something twist warmly inside your chest.
You find yourself wanting to do more.
Your knees hit the floor.
And, as if in a trance, you shift forward, settling between his spread thighs. Your hand wraps around the base, tentative but curiously.
A shaky exhale bursts out from above.
You look up to see him looking down at you, face flushed with surprise, and, beneath that, pure excitement at what you’re about to do.
It’s contagious.
He runs a hand through your hair, slow and gentle.
And, as if that’s a sign, tilt his length toward your mouth, heart hammering, and lean in.
Your tongue flicks out in one slow stroke across the tip, catching the slick liquid beading there. It tastes salty.
“Ah-“
His body jolts, head tipping back as his fingers tighten around your hair.
You do it again, licking him like a treat you don’t know how to eat yet. You circle the tip with your tongue, then press into it and grind slowly.
It draws a long, breathy moan from deep in his chest.
“Stop teasing, pips… I’m gonna lose it,” he pants, his voice thick and strained with restraint.
You hesitate for only a second before parting your lips and leaning in.
He’s thick - so much so that your jaw stretches uncomfortably as you take him halfway in. You pause there, unsure, your breath catching around him.
Above you, Caleb lets out a low chuckle, warm and steady. His tone softens.
“Move your head. Up and down.”
You follow his guidance, sliding back to the tip before pushing forward again, adjusting to the rhythm.
“No teeth,” he murmurs, gently.
You shift your lips, curling them more snugly around him, taking the correction without protest.
His hands slip beneath your arms.
Before you can react, he lifts you effortlessly and settles you into his lap, straddling him.
“Let’s try with fingers first,” he says with a quiet smile. “Yeah?”
He brings his index and middle finger up to your face. You know what he means. You open your mouth, eyes locked on his.
His gaze flickers hungrily and dangerously.
He slides his fingers in, and you begin to suck, slowly mimicking what you just did.
You coat his fingers in your saliva, curling your lips carefully, sliding back and forth.
“Curl your lips so that your teeth aren’t touching… yeah… just like that… and suck it back and forth…”
He pushes deeper, and you gag faintly, breath hitching.
“Angle your head like this-“ He tilts your chin slightly, then strokes the front of your neck with his other hand. “Open your throat.” Your breath stutters around his fingers as they slide in deeper. Drool slips past your lips, dripping down your chin.
“Good girl.”
He says, voice low, pulling back with a wet pop.
Then he guides you back down between his legs.
As he gently grips the loose end of your hair and holds it back, you swallow his length gladly.
A loud moan escapes his lips as his hips jerk forward instinctively. His tip hits the back of your throat and you gag, eyes watering. With deep breaths escaping your nose, you angle your head and open up like he just taught you, and begin sucking.
“Ah-”
His hand fists your hair roughly like it’s life support.
You start to move - bobbing slowly at first, then faster as he begins to pant above you.
“This, feels, too, good- I can’t-”
Caleb murmurs through each pant of air.
The neediness in his voice is contagious. You move with bigger enthusiasm, determined to make him feel good, and your throat spasms and groans with each deep bob of the head.
“Ah-”
Like a reward, a large, long moan emits from Caleb. You feel your jaw ache, tears prick at your eyes - but you hold on.
Through the frenzy of it, you try to wrap your tongue around the bottom.
As if it’s a trigger, Caleb roughly attempts to pull out to cum. But you, caught up in your own heat, roughly grab his length and hold it in your mouth - to which he whimpers in surprise - and hot, thick spurts flood your throat, coating you with each pulse, to which you swallow desperately to keep up.
You feel his thighs twitch violently as you take it all.
When he finally pulls back, the last of his load pools heavy on your tongue, its remnants dripping out and drooling down your chin messily.
You wipe the remnants with the back of your hand and look up.
You meet eyes with Caleb, panting, surprised, his eyes dark, languid, and completely undone.
You feel your body trembling from the desire coursing through your veins. It’s strange. Even though you’re the one who sucked him up, it’s like you were on the receiving end of it.
He brings you onto his lap with both arms and pulls you closely, noses touching.
“You didn’t have to do that.” He whispers to you while combing through your hair with his fingers.
“I wanted to.”
You say as you meet his eyes and suck on his remnants on the back of your hand, clean.
Caleb’s eyes flicker, as if he can’t believe what he’s seeing. With a small sound from the back of his throat, he rapidly leans in and starts kissing you tenderly.
You pant into the kiss as he presses a hand to the small of your back, your stomach meeting his with no space between.
His hands wander down to the zipper of your pants.
“Ah-”
Your hips twitch beneath the faintest graze of his knuckles.
He pulls back urgently and whispers hot breath into your ear.
“Let’s go for round two tonight. Yeah?”
You nod, just as his lips find yours again and swallows it whole, and feel his raw desire mix and merge with yours.
You thought Caleb was your anchor. Steady, selfless, always there to catch you without asking for anything in return.
But now, as you meet the full weight of his want, for the first time in your life - raw and undiluted - you feel yourself unraveling in ways you never thought possible.
Now, you’re starting to think he might not have been the hearth or the anchor after all.
He might have always been the storm. Silently brewing, and waiting. For you to give permission. And call it forth.

After you kissed him, you saw Caleb’s eyes melt from startlement to hunger in a single heartbeat. He leaned in, large hands rising to cup your face, and kissed you back with a tenderness that was almost hesitant at first. Soft, wet sounds filled the room as he sucked gently on your lower lip, slow and savoring.
What began as breathy pecks quickly turned into something deeper. More desperate. His kisses grew faster, messier, and soon you were struggling to breathe properly. With a sharp, ragged inhale, Caleb tilted his head and pressed in harder - devouring you like he couldn’t get enough.
You had no choice but to clutch his shoulders for support as he pushed you into the bed, smothering your mouth with his. His tongue moved tenderly inside your mouth, coaxing yours into a slow dance - exploring, teasing, brushing against the most sensitive corners until your whole body began to tremble.
Your mind grew dazed from the sheer heat, from the lack of air, from the noise - his staggered breaths, your own whimpers, the slick sounds of your mouths meeting over and over in a breathless rhythm.
As the kiss prolonged, you started to worry that someone might come in.
But even as you manage to choke out his name, you’re silenced again by his mouth finding yours.
After several attempts, you manage to push him back far enough to break the kiss and look at him.
Your insides jump at how he looks.
Disheveled. Hungry. And close enough to losing it.
He doesn’t look to be in the right mind.
You wonder if he can even hear what you’re saying.
“Caleb. What if someone comes in?” You whisper to him, his face inches away from yours. You can feel his barely contained ragged breath fan across your lips.
His large hand cups your lower back tight against him, while the other is propped beside your head on the bed, steadying the weight of his body from completely collapsing onto yours.
His dark, violet eyes shift to your mouth. Then, as if someone’s forcing him, he turns his head to view the closed room door. His eyes shift again to your mouth, and then, as if fighting off an urge, he swallows, deep, calms his breathing, and loosens the grip around you to stand up.
“I’ll go lock the door.” He says quietly but urgently.
But just as he turns to leave, you grab his wrist. His skin is burning. He turns to looks at you, and the intensity of his stare scares you.
“No, Caleb. I… I don’t think this is the right place.” You say to him.
He knits his brows as if he doesn’t understand what you’re saying.
“We can continue…” You avert your eyes and feel your face heating up as you say it. “…back at home.”
A sharp breath escapes his lips. The way he looks at you, it’s like he’s immersed in the thought of your suggestion, or like he’s having trouble not jumping at you again.
Then, with a sigh, he rubs his hand across his face a couple times, up to and down his brown hair, and visibly calms down.
“Right. Sorry.” He says, gently reaching and caressing your hair, the intensity from a few seconds ago completely dissipating like a mirage.
He lets out a sheepish smile. “Might’ve gotten a bit carried away.”
You smile back at him, fix your hand holding his wrist, so that his fingers lace with yours. You bring it up to your mouth to plant a small peck.
“So… what does this make us?” You ask him, looking up. You know it’s a cheesy, overdone statement. But you just can’t help it.
But unlike your worries of coming off as clingy, the question seems to ignite something in Caleb. You have to rush to stop him from leaning in to kiss again. While you’re pressing his shoulders to push him away, he grins jokingly and affectionately and pulls you in for a hug, your arms folding in between his chest and yours.
You can feel his heart pumping, racing through the cotton cloth onto your hands. As if offering his heart, he tells you, voice velvet and gentle,
“I’m yours, if you’ll have me.”
Your heart swells at his poetic words. You wrap your arms around his torso and bury your face into his chest. You breathe in his minty, musky scent and release a sigh.
He doesn’t wait for your answer, however.
“But just so you know, pipsqueak…” He lowers his head near yours, and his voice rings right above your ears, tone sweet and seductive, like Eve to Adam.
“Some things can’t be undone once you start them.”

After a little bit more talking, the two of you head back out to the living room.
You greet Ethan and Jessica (while you swallow a large, thick lump of guilt) who has a gauze plastered on her nose, by the couch. She says with a reassuring grin that it’s not broken, just a little bruised. The two of them ask if you’re alright, and you reply (also guiltily) that you think you had a small heat stroke, but it’s better now that you got some sleep.
The four of you lounge around, chatting idly - first about Jessica’s latest favorite TV show, then drifting into scandalous celebrity rumors, a few snarky comments about university professors, and finally, the upcoming midterms.
As the conversation begins to fizzle, Caleb chimes in smoothly, suggesting that you all head back to the city an hour early, since everyone seems worn out.
Jessica and Ethan nod along, not too enthusiastically, while your heart skips a quiet, guilty beat in anticipation.
After packing the trunk of Caleb’s black Land Rover with suitcases, bags, and leftover snacks, you slide into the passenger seat beside him. Jessica and Ethan climb into the back.
Despite their initial reluctance, Jessica and Ethan soon dose off to sleep. The highway stretches ahead, endless and quiet, and soon only the steady rhythm of Ethan’s baby snores fills the silence.
Caleb’s hand is steady on the wheel, the setting sun spilling warmly across his profile. You steal a glance, only to look away again when he glances back at you.
“You should get some rest too.” Caleb murmurs next to you, careful not to wake the others.
“Not sleepy.” You reply as you grab a chip from the bag of Lay’s, and bring it close the Caleb’s mouth, to which he sticks out his chin and eats obediently, eyes still on the road. His pink lips brush lightly against your index finger and thumb.
As you’re about to pull back, he grabs your hand and covers it with silent pecks, his wide grin spreading in between.
You pull back and lightly swat his arm, glance backwards to check if the two are still sleeping.
You know they are by the steady snoring and deep breaths, but still, it worries you. Caleb, on the other hand, chuckles at your reaction, like he’s not involved in this as well.
You give him a sharp glare, to which he smiles even wider. He tilts his chin up with a smug little nod, like he wants you to feed him another chip. You find his cocky attitude both ridiculous and weirdly endearing - and despite yourself, you can’t stop the smile that creeps out. You end up sharing the entire bag of chips on the way home.

You’d secretly worried you wouldn’t know how to act around Caleb once the two of you were alone. Well, it wasn’t a far stretch, as the car did fall dead silent after Jessica and Ethan left. The two of you were unusually silent even while walking through the parking lot, in the elevator, in the corridors, all the way up to the apartment.
But you didn’t expect him to shower kisses on you the moment you entered the house.
Before you even hear the click of the lock, Caleb's arms are around your waist - pulling you back, flush against the firm line of his body.
You gasp softly, shivering when his warm lips graze your ear, damp from his breath.
“Caleb-“
At the breathy sound of his name on your lips, he lets out a moan bordering on whimper, right into your skin. The sound vibrates down your spine.
You turn in his arms, wrapping yours around his neck, and your mouths find each other in the same breath. This time, the kiss is deep and needy from the start.
Your brain fogs as his tongue seeks yours, his lips dragging across the tender corners of your mouth. Every time he sucks on the sensitive inner part of your lips, you can’t stop the moan that escapes you - and he swallows each one like it’s the only thing he wants to hear.
You thread your fingers through his soft brown hair and tug him closer. He groans into your mouth, arms tightening around your waist, pulling your body flush against his - like he’s trying to mold you to him.
A shiver runs down your spine as something rock hard rubs against your lower abdomen.
“Fuck-“ He gasps, lips parting as he exhales raggedly, tongue just barely visible between his flushed, swollen lips.
His eyes are hazy, dark, and his boyish features are drawn tight with focus - like every part of him is consumed by a single thought.
You let out a breathless sound as he nudges you to wrap your legs around his waist—his hands strong and steady, one cradling your lower back, the other gripping your thigh.
You moan against the curve of his neck when his hardened length rubs against your most sensitive spot.
His deep breaths soak into your skin as he kisses the side of your neck, his lips not once leaving your skin, like he wants to devour you. absorb you.
Before you know it, your back meets a soft surface - his bed, and you sink in helplessly, overwhelmed by the sensation of it all - his kisses, fervent yet reverent, your moans, his moans, every sense melting into a hot boil within you.
His lips find your ear once more, his hot tongue tracing along the curve of your cartilage, slow and wet, before sliding down to your earlobe. He sucks on it like candy, and as his warm breath travels down your ear and onto your heart, you let out a long, uncontrollable moan, the loudest yet.
The sound makes him inhale sharply, almost like it short-circuits his brain. His breath grows ragged, deeper, messier. He moves lower, to your neck, where his lips latch onto the tender skin, sucking hard. You shiver violently.
You tremble beneath him, clutching at his head and back with both arms, pulling him impossibly closer. And when you do, he shudders too, his body jerking like it’s barely holding together.
The sounds - gasps, moans, breathless whimpers - bleed into one another, overlapping in stuttered rhythm. His lips devour yours with growing urgency, each kiss deeper, sloppier than the last. You can barely breathe, barely think, as his hands roam your body in broad, desperate sweeps, like he doesn’t know what to touch first or last or more. You grip around his shoulders and tighten your thighs around his hips, to which he moans into your mouth, chest heaving like he’s run miles, breath hitching, ragged. You both tremble like you’re on the verge of collapsing.
“Caleb-” you whimper his name, voice frayed and raw with need.
That’s when he suddenly lets out a long, strained sound - a low, guttural moan that rips from the depths of him, rough and uncontained.
His body locks up, muscles tight, breath coming in short, jagged bursts as he goes still above you.
The room goes silent, lest the labored breathing from you and him.
You blink, not knowing the reason behind his sudden stillness.
You’re even more confused when Caleb suddenly starts laughing against your skin, like he can’t believe himself.
“Why are you laughing?” You ask him, breathless and confused.
While he’s still laughing, body shaking from the laughter, he shakes his head incredulously, as if words have abandoned him.
“Nothing… I’m just happy.” He murmurs, still chuckling, and presses soft kisses along your chin.
You decide to let it go. Instead, you rake your fingers through his luscious hair, while he finds your neck once again, this time tenderly kissing down to your collar bone.
“So, so happy.” He says, in between kisses.
He inhales deeply.
“You smell good.” He murmurs.
“Really? I didn’t spray anything though.” You say.
“You always smell good. Something about your skin…”
You find yourself fluttering your eyes shut as his kisses deepen along your collarbone.
“…drives me crazy”
His hoarse, breathy voice makes your innermost core tingle. Without a word, he gently guides your arms back around his neck, before lifting you up with ease. You instinctively hold on as he moves, and in the next moment, he’s sitting cross-legged on the bed, with you straddling his lap.
His lips find yours again, and this time, the kiss is tender, softer, and less urgent, as his hands roam slowly across your hips and back.
The slowness to which he sucks your lips leaves you dizzy and breathless.
As lips part, a thin string of saliva drops between you and him. You follow it with your eyes. Then shift to meet his - still full of their usual softness - but also red from desire, almost like he’s cried - and dead focused on yours, like he’s watching a movie requiring great concentration.
And meeting his eyes like this - it makes you feel more connected to him than you thought was possible.
You want to sink into him. Deeper. and Deeper.
You murmur. “I want to touch you.”
The emotions behind his eyes flicker, as if your words directly caressed his soul. He replies, voice low and quiet. “I’m yours. Do whatever you want.” He holds your hand and guides it to his chest. You feel his rhythmical, thumping heartbeat. It’s so loud it almost feels raw, vulnerable. “You don’t need to ask for permission.”
You extend your hand and push it under his cotton shirt. He sharply inhales, whimpers, when your hand touches his firm abdomen. The air inside his shirt seems to be few degrees warmer. His skin is hot. As you use both hands to feel his toned stomach and back, he rests his head against your shoulder, locks of hair tickling your neck every time he shudders at your touch.
As if he can’t hold back any more, he lifts his hands to mirror your movements, careful at first. You gasp as his calloused hands enter your tight shirt, not leaving any room between his palm and your skin. It glazes over, from the front to the back, and the hard spots on his palm stimulate your skin in a way that leaves you moaning and leaning into his frame.
Your cheek now presses into his, and you hear his deep, vocal breaths as he brings his hands back to the front to slide under your bra and cup your breasts in one smooth motion.
You gasp as his large thumbs graze against your hardened nipples, to which he moans and kisses your ear in return.
His hands start kneading your breasts with no shame, and you, feeling hot and dazy and over stimulated, as he also licks your ear and moans in it, buckle your hips forward to grind against his hard, throbbing dick, which has been grazing against your ass ever since you changed positions.
He lets out a long, throaty moan.
In an instant, he flips you onto the bed, pulls you by the thighs so that his groin presses deeper into you.
You squirm and pant, but his grip remains firm. He looks down at you with a predatory gaze that makes you jolt with excitement.
“It’s hard to hold back when you do that, pipsqueak.”
He says, voice low.
“You were holding back?” You ask, genuinely curious.
He playfully smiles and hums at your question, like he’s curious about it too.
With one hand on your hip, still holding it so that your body angles upwards against his hips, he uses the other to gently slide it across your abdomen, pushing your t-shirt up and slowly revealing your torso.
“…You have no idea.”
He murmurs, before lowering his head and kissing your upper breasts.
You let out a moan as he sucks on the skin like it’s made of pudding - gobbling, biting, and licking.
“You-” you say between breaths, looking down at him, fully immersed in the act, “don’t, need-to, hold, back.”
He lets out a deep breath, one that sounds like he’s been holding it in, and your hands find his hair again as his mouth finds your nipple. You grasp and pull at his hair as his warm breath tickles your sensitive bud. He sucks, hard. Nibbles. Teases. Every time you tug, he lets out a throaty moan, and you don’t know who’s louder - you or him.
You hear his breathing get louder and heavier, almost like the churning of a steam train, when his free hand trails down, fingers hooking onto the waistband of your sweatpants. Startled, you instinctively press your hips down hard against the bed, halting his motion.
“Lift your hips.” He orders, voice low.
“Wait-” You tell him.
He raises his head to meet your eyes. His lips are red and glossy from the saliva. His cheeks are flushed, and his eyes are dazed.
“I,” you stumble out. “Shouldn’t we shower first?”
There’s a slight pause.
Then he places his hands under the small of your back, and lifts you up. As he stands up, you wrap your arms around his neck to keep from falling, and you jolt every time his groin grinds against yours as he takes a step.
“Let’s shower together.” He says, looking at you with a seductive smile, his hair tousled and unkempt, his eyebrows slightly tilted downwards, his eyes upturned, with a peculiar ease about it - it makes it hard to say no. “Like when we were little, yeah?” He adds, chuckling like he finds the irony of it funny.
As the two of your each the bathroom - the shared one between his room and yours, he sits you down on the toilet seat cover and pulls your shirt over your head.
“It’s weird if you think about it now.” He continues as he undresses you.
He undoes your bra and helps you slide it off, his eyes roaming over your chest with no trace of shame.
“You were eight, I was ten, showering together.”
You tug at his shirt and he crosses both arms to pull it off swiftly, revealing his toned, big upper body. It makes you almost salivate.
“What’s wrong with that?” You say, unable to look away from his big, thick chests.
“Well, don’t you think it’s a bit too old?” He says, stepping out of his sweats.
“Not really.” You answer, as he helps you step out of yours.
All of a sudden you feel self conscious, with only your navy blue panties on.
You stare down at it to check if there’s nothing weird with how you look, and then look up to freeze.
You can see the outline of Caleb’s dick through his tight black square boxers. The seams look like it’s about to burst. The lewdness of it makes your mind go blank.
“Ngh- Caleb!”
You scream and grab his hand as his large thumb finds the hollow of your groin, sliding across the fabric of your underwear.
“It’s soaking wet.” He says, voice a notch rougher, as he pulls you in for a hug, still thumbing it.
Embarrassed, you swat at his hand and struggle to find the correct words to explain.
“This is- it’s…!”
He chuckles and grasps your hand to place it on the front of his underwear, and you notice that it’s wet, too.
“It’s normal. See?” He says, his ragged breath soaking your ear, making you tremble.
Still hugging you close to him, he slides down yours, then his underwear in one go, and hoists you up once again to carry you into the bath tub.
You pant as you feel his raw member rubbing against your lower stomach all the way down to your groin. You gaze down to see its red tip, squeezed between his hard abdomen and yours, glazed with cream and dripping something clear.
As he steps in the bath tub, he lets you down and moves to turn on the faucet.
That’s when you see it.
It’s the first time you’ve really seen it free.
Well, it’s the first time you’ve ever really seen anyone’s, really.
Was it supposed to be that big and thick? How did guys hide it in their underwear?
It nods up and down as you stare at it, creamy, dark, and red. Dripping.
You reach out instinctively to grab it. The water starts pouring from above, and in an instant, you’re pulled into a tight embrace as Caleb kisses you fervently, moaning into your mouth as he guides your hand up and down his slick member.
Lewd sounds fill the bathroom while he devours your mouth, and as you struggle for air, you feel the skin of his dick slide up and down each time you jerk it, his large hand covering yours, leading you through the rhythm.
That’s when he suddenly reaches between your legs, and starts rubbing across your groin.
As your legs buckle he holds you up, and his fingers roam as if he’s searching for something.
“Caleb-” you say his name, because that’s all you can really do, when you’re so overwhelmed. He responds by biting on your neck, breath heavy and loud.
You squirm once his index finger finds a spot and digs into it, pushing through into your insides.
The way he’s stretching you, it feels unsafe. Is this normal? You’ve only ever touched yourself by rubbing your clitoris - it’s the first time you’ve ever placed anything inside you.
Your grip around his dick loosens as you feel his long finger move up and down inside you, going deeper and faster each time. What started off as mild discomfort morphs into a strange pleasure, your body warming up and responding to his movements obediently.
You cling onto his neck as you find yourself unable to stand right up any longer, and he responds to your moans by stretching your entrance open and slowly inserting another.
You grimace through the initial discomfort, and soon your pants become uncontrollable moans as he fingers you deep, stretching your insides in a circular motion, hitting a spot that makes you tremble and gasp.
He roughly shuts the faucet and murmurs roughly.
“I think we’re done showering.”
He hoists you up and steps out of the bath tub, water dripping from both your hair and bodies, grabs a towel and dry yours and his carelessly, before tossing it aside and pushing you onto his bed.
You watch him open and grab something from the drawer next to his bed, but before you can register what it is, he starts showering you with open mouth kisses once more. His fingers find their way inside you once again.
You moan loudly into his mouth as his fingers find their way and repeatedly press into your sensitive spot, sparks shooting up your body and putting you on edge.
“Wait- it feels weird-” You gasp as you feel a new kind of warmth spreading from your groin to your abdomen.
You attempt to grab at his hand without success. He doesn’t stop. Rather, he goes at it faster.
“Don’t worry.” He murmurs. “I’ll make you feel real good.”
His fingers - you don’t know how many - thrust through you repeatedly, until you’re screaming and tugging at his hair, shivers running up and down your body into your mind, trembling and jerking, while something starts to squirt out of your vagina every time he thrusts relentlessly.
You’re embarrassed out of your mind and try to stop him, but he holds you down firmly and keeps at it, until you’re tilting your head back and crying out of pleasure.
You pant and squirm as you lie in his bed lifelessly, still recovering from the intense release, when you feel the bed sink as he climbs on top of you, then feel something thick pressing against your hole.
You look down to see his dick, now covered in a clear condom, pressing at the place between your legs. Its size is nothing like his fingers. It scares you.
“Wait, Caleb - I don’t think it’s going to fit!” You say as you scramble backwards on the bed on your elbows.
He pulls you back down, hand firm on your ankles.
“It’s fine. I promise it won’t hurt. Tell me if it does, okay?” He says gently, with a certain urgency behind it, pressing kisses across your temple and cheeks.
You nod and gulp as you feel him push through.
“Wait!” You stop him as you feel your entrance sting as it stretches.
He pulls back immediately.
“Stick out your tongue.” He orders, to which you follow obediently.
He sucks at it tenderly while his fingers reach for your vagina again, carefully stretching it out and kneading at its insides.
You’re trembling and whimpering against his mouth when you feel his fingers leave and something much thicker insert itself again. This time, it stretches you in a way that makes you tremble.
“Shit ah-” Caleb trembles against you. His forehead glistens from sweat and his biceps fully flex as he supports his weight above you. “Relax. Pipsqueak. You’re gonna cut my dick off.” He says between shudders, a small smile playing by his lips.
You release a breath you weren’t realizing you were holding - and that’s when his dick slides into you, suddenly thrusting deep in one go.
Both you and him moan and sharply tilt your head back from the sheer wave of desire that crashes over like a tsunami.
“Wait Caleb. It feels weird-” You say between pants, as he slowly starts thrusting inside you.
“You’re not,” His voice is strained. “fooling, anyone.” he says between thrusts, “with those eyes.”
You shiver. You wonder whether you look the same as him, as you meet his darkened, murky eyes.
You’re pulled into their magnetic force and stare back dumbly, mouth agape, while warmth spreads over your entire body, reaching and caressing the very core of your being, filling you with a new kind of fullness you’ve never felt before in your life.
Every thrust sends a jolt up your body. You gasp. Shiver. Tremble.
His thrusts get faster and deeper. The lewd sound of his balls hitting your skin echo throughout the room, alongside moans that get louder, throatier.
“Ah-” He gasps, eyes fluttering closed. “Feels. So. Good.”
He thrusts fast and quick like he’s on autodrive. Like he can’t control his own hips.
Your eyes roll back in your head as he hits a particular spot that makes your mind flicker in bright, white flashes.
“Wait- I’m-” You half-scream. Your hands search for something to grab onto - you feel like you’re falling - Caleb’s hands lace around yours and press them firmly to the bed. The angle deepens and he thrusts deep, directly onto the spot. You scream. He doesn’t stop. He snaps his hips up brutally, deeper and stronger until you’re a screaming mess. Your back arches into his body and liquid starts to gush out of you with each thrust.
All the while, your eyes remain locked with his, cloudy with desire, as you fight to keep them open as they flutter shut with every spark. His face distorts as he lets out a long, throaty moan, and pumps into you in jagged, hungry bursts, like he’s trying to bury the very base of his dick inside of you. He grabs hold of your hips and pounds into it, wet, slapping sounds ringing in the room like thunder, until the bedframe creaks, until your body can’t take it anymore and starts twitching violently, until the moans become incomprehensible, primal sounds - until one strong thrust, where Caleb groans, deep and dirty, and the two of you climax together, filthily moaning into each others mouths.
As he collapses on top of you, breathless and trembling, you both shudder from the afterglow still pulsing through your bodies.
The sweet, musky scent of his skin fills your lungs, thick and dizzying, deepening the haze that already clouds your senses.
“Wow.”
“Yeah.”
You both exclaim like the both of you can’t believe it. How terrifyingly good it feels.
You’re still twitching when he pulls out from you - leaving your hole feeling bare - and grabs another package from his drawer.
Your mouth drops as you notice him growing big. Again. Slick with cum after removing the condom.
He flips you over.
“Wait, weren’t we finished?” You ask, scrambling to look back at him.
He looks down at you with a certain calmness from the after glow, while sliding a condom on his member.
“What do you mean, pipsqueak?”
His pink, glossy lips turn upward, and you see his words echo, almost in slow motion.
“We’re just getting started.”

Ok so this was the first time I tried writing smut and I actually had so much fun haha I don't know how I feel about this... am I... a pervert?
You wake up to the weight of another body tangled against yours. For a moment, you forget where you are.
Jessica’s breath is soft against your shoulder, her limbs wrapped around you like you’re a body pillow. You gently pry yourself free, trying not to wake her. She murmurs something in her sleep and shifts, giving you just enough room to escape.
The floor is cold, and the room is quiet. You suppress a sigh as the memories from last night flood into your mind. You stand by the sink and start brushing your teeth ritually, all the while staring back at your two eyes in the mirror, something you can’t fully stare back at these days without feeling guilt.
You step out of the bedroom with a quiet breath.
Ethan’s already at the dining table, red hair mussed and falling into his eyes as he scrolls through his phone, chewing on last night’s leftovers. He looks up when he sees you, offering a small, sleepy smile.
“Hey.”
“Morning.” You grab a banana from the cluttered pile and sit across from him. “Sleep okay?”
“Yeah,” he shrugs. “You?”
He scratches the back of his neck, then runs a hand through his hair. His ears are red.
You also realize that it’s the first time you’ve ever been alone with him. You internally swallow a bitter smile at the irony.
“Yeah.” You reply. “Jessica was hugging me like a teddy bear though.”
“She can be a bit overly affectionate sometimes.”
The two of you share a chuckle.
“Did Caleb go running?” you ask as the laugh dies down, unable to suppress your curiosity. The door to the boys’ room is ajar enough to see that no one is inside.
“Yeah. He should be back soon. Knew he ran, but didn’t know he was so dedicated to it.”
“Me too. Apparently he needs to train for pilot school.”
Ethan shakes his head like Caleb belongs to another dimension. “Ever since freshman year, he’s had such a clear goal in mind. Meanwhile, I’m just winging it and barely surviving junior year.”
“You let yourself down too much. I heard from Caleb that you’re an awesome friend and a lot of people love you for it. I think that in itself is amazing.”
You weren’t intending anything with your statement. It was true. Everyone had their own life, there was no right or wrong way to live. Plus, you had always been thankful to Ethan for being such a good friend to Caleb.
But it seemed to have an impact on him, way greater than you anticipated.
You watch his face turn red in an instant, as he struggles to stumble for words.
“Thanks.” He says. “You too. I mean, not you too. I mean-”
While he’s stumbling, the condo door opens and Caleb steps in. He’s in his running clothes - a white tank top and grey shorts. His face is red from the exercise, and sweat hangs on his toned arms and calves.
You freeze, mid-bite, banana slipping from your hand as your eyes trace the flex of his biceps when he runs a hand through his damp, luscious hair.
You awkwardly reach for a tissue to clean the mess, heart hammering in your chest.
As Caleb’s eyes find yours and Ethan’s at the table, his usual upbeat face, elated from the running, falls ever so slightly as he approaches.
“…Why are your faces so red?” he asks, brow raised.
“It’s not.” You say. “It’s the kitchen lighting.”
He doesn’t respond to that. Instead his face is uncharacteristically expressionless as he pulls out a chair next to you and grabs an apple from the pile. All the three of you really do is exchange glances in silence, and the air grows heavier each second. Ethan is the first one to succumb to the silence and break it.
“How was the run?”
“It was great. It’s not everyday I get to run on sand.” Caleb’s expression lightens up as he visibly relaxes in his chair. The heavy atmosphere lifts in an instant. “It looks like they have the net up today. Wanna play volleyball later?”
“Sure. Don’t go whining when I whip your ass.” Ethan says confidently, crossing his arms.
“It was that one time.” Caleb retorts.
“Yeah, the last one time.”
Just as they start to bicker, the girls’ bedroom door opens and Jessica stumbles out, wearing oversized pajamas and rubbing her eyes. She looks as miserably hungover as you’d expect.
“You guys are up early,” she grumbles, plopping into the last empty seat across from Caleb.
“Here comes the devil herself,” Ethan says with a half-smirk. “You better pay for my liver transplant.”
Jessica grins, clearly proud and not an inch guilty.
“How’s your hangover?” you ask.
“Ugh,” she groans, burying her face in her folded arms. “Kill me.”
“Should we go by the café for brunch? I heard carbs are good for hangovers.”
Well, the one who told you is sitting right beside you. But most of your common sense trace back to him anyway.
“Yeah. And some coffee please.” She replies.
Caleb checks his watch. “We need to stop by the rental place for the volleyball anyway,” he says. “How about we split up-”
“How about you and Jessica head to the café first?” you cut in smoothly, voice bright. “Ethan and I can get the volleyball.”
There’s a pause.
Jessica glances at you in surprise, then quickly masks it with a tiny, grateful smile.
Caleb, on the other hand, briefly glances at you, eyes full of question. However, it’s too fleeting for anyone else to notice. But you noticed. And its like his violet eyes pierced an iron rod through your heart, swiftly and precisely. You try your best to ignore it.
“Alright. Let’s get ready then.” Caleb answers with a small smile that doesn’t quite reach his eyes.
────── ❀•°❀°•❀ ──────
You begin to rethink everything the moment you walk into the café after renting the volleyball with Ethan.
Well, it’s because, you see two figures sitting at a table by the window. The warm sunlight illuminating the two figures who are chatting, smiling, laughing and having coffee with toast. To you, their table seems to glow as an insulated island amongst the bustling background - and they seem to be a picture perfect couple - without shame or guilt - something you know deep down that you can never be with Caleb.
The scene etches itself into your mind.
And for the first time in your life you can really, sincerely visualize Caleb’s life without you in the center of it.
It makes you nauseous to the core.
You don’t even realize your phone slipping out of your hand, like a bar of soap.
“Woah. Y/N?” You hear Ethan call out from beside you. “Y/N?”
“…huh?” You turn your head to him.
He bends to pick up your phone and gently hands it back, his fingers brushing against yours.
“Thanks,” you murmur, barely registering his presence.
“You okay?”
“Yeah,” you reply faintly.
And then, as if summoned by the pull in your chest, your eyes find Caleb’s, violet and sharp, fixed on you from across the room.
You don't know how long he’s been watching, but Jessica, noticing his shift in attention, turns and sees you too. Just like that, the delicate little bubble around their moment bursts, and you wonder if it had even existed in the first place.
As you approach, Caleb pulls out a chair for you.
“Here,” he says, handing you your usual café drink, like it’s something the two of you had decided on in advance.
You stare down at the cup and quietly thank him. But as your hands close around it, you notice your fingers are trembling. You press both hands to the cup to hide it.
“We were talking about how you’d hide the weirdest things under his bed when you were little and call it a gift.” Jessica tells you, her face slightly elated.
“Do you remember?” Caleb asks, looking at you fondly.
“Of course.” You answer. “You remind me every few years so I don’t forget it.”
“Yeah, can’t let you forget that. Though I could never scold you, you were just too cute.” His face brightens up into a genuine smile.
You turn your mouth upwards to smile back. You don’t know if you’re any successful though.
“I get it.” Ethan chimes in. “If my little sister was half as nice as Y/N, I wouldn’t be so mean to her.”
“Maybe if you were nicer, she’d be nicer to you?” Jessica snaps back.
“You just don’t get it. She’s like an ogre at home.”
While Ethan goes on about his sister, you steal a glance at Caleb.
Caleb is so selfless when it comes to you. He’s always been.
But instead of repaying him with gratitude, you’d been so, so selfish.
You’d acted on your flimsy desires, nudged the boundary, leaned into it, ignited something in him and watched it bloom without ever properly thinking of the consequences.
You should have known better.
Caleb doesn’t deserve to be dragged into your mess. He deserves a life that’s whole and simple and good. Not one where every glance, every touch, carries the weight of things unspoken and forbidden.
And yet, when you saw him sitting there with Jessica, you felt something ugly rise inside you. Possessiveness, envy, a desperate, childish wish to rip that moment away from her and take it for yourself.
But if you really loved him, truly, wouldn’t you would want the opposite?
“Moral of the story: every household needs a big brother Caleb.” Jessica sips her drink and declares.
“Yeah. But sometimes I worry,” you say, putting strength to your voice to hide it from shaking, making it sound deliberately casual as you turn your head away. “He’s way too attentive to me. How is he going to find any girls like this?”
Ethan and Jessica laugh and agree. But through their laughter, you hear a faint scoff escaping Caleb’s lips after a pause, like he can’t believe what he just heard.
“Yeah Caleb, not just you, but how is Y/N gonna find a boyfriend if you hover around her like a drone all the time?” Jessica jokingly jabs.
An awkward silence ensues on the table for barely a second.
Caleb chuckles dryly. “Right.”
He stands. “Excuse me.”
The smile on his face is paper-thin.
You watch him stand up and walk in wide strides to the bathroom.
“…Must be the caffeine.” Ethan says, trying to lighten up the mood.
When Caleb returns, you notice that the hair framing his face is damp.
And for the rest of brunch, he doesn’t look at you once.
────── ❀•°❀°•❀ ──────
The beach is loud with laughter, crashing waves, and the distant cries of seagulls overhead.
The sun seems harsher than yesterday, its heavy rays shining down on you like a spotlight.
You look up to see Caleb chatting with Jessica by the net. You shut your mouth, which had been open to call out his name, more out of habit than anything.
He hasn’t looked at you once since the café. The heat of the beach feels suffocating, and you feel like the sound of crashing waves are coming from within you, rather than from the distance.
You fidget with the sunscreen in your hand. You turn to Ethan who’s unpacking his belongings.
“Ethan, can you help me with this?”
He seems startled at your request, double checking the sunscreen pointed to his direction.
“Sure!” He says, ears tinged pink, taking the sunscreen in his hand.
You turn around and lift your hair. His fingers are hesitant at first, then warm as they glide across your back. You close your eyes for a moment, trying to feel something other than the dull ache in your chest.
“Thanks.” You turn and tell him. “Do you need help too?”
“Yeah, actually.” He smiles sheepishly. “If you don’t mind-”
“I’ll do it for you.” Caleb’s voice cuts in.
You look up to find a pair of violet ones looking down at you. He must’ve walked over while Ethan was helping you out. You catch that Jessica’s still over by the net, on her phone now.
Even though Caleb is addressing Ethan, his stare is fixated on you, with a coldness to them you’ve rarely, if not never seen before. It makes you look away first.
“Oh, yeah sure, thanks.” Ethan says, obliviously.
Frozen in your seat, you watch Caleb put sunscreen on Ethan’s back, and vice versa, while they make light conversation. The way Caleb responds, he doesn’t seem to be in a bad mood, but you know something’s off.
“C’mon, let’s play!” Ethan says as he bolts out of his seat and heads to the net first.
You get up and are about to follow him, when you feel a large hand pressing on your back. It makes you stop in your tracks.
You look up at Caleb, who was walking beside you, like nothing happened.
“You had something here,” Caleb murmurs, brushing something invisible from your skin.
You look up at him. “Oh. Thanks.”
How can the same touch by two people feel so different? It’s like Caleb’s hand has a way of touching your heart at the slightest contact.
You walk beside him in silence toward the net, and you realize that you’re beyond relieved he isn’t ignoring you anymore.
────── ❀•°❀°•❀ ──────
The beach volleyball session turns out to be way more competitive to be considered a ‘friendly match.’
For some reason Caleb is way too eager and serious to win, and he ends up setting the tone.
He spikes, hard, and you end up running to receive it, tumbling into the sand as result. Ethan barely manages to send it over before rushing to your side.
“You okay?” he asks, brushing a bit of sand off your arm. You nod, but your attention is already pulled elsewhere.
Across the net, Caleb’s eyes find yours. His gaze is blistering, intense, and scorching hot, like he’s trying to burn through you with nothing but the sheer weight of it.
It makes you upset. You feel like he’s being way harsher than he needs to be. You swallow the wave of emotions threatening to overflow once again, while you steady yourself to receive again.
Jessica ends up scoring the match point, and you watch Caleb and Jessica share a high five and a smile with a sour taste.
It riles you up even more.
As the serves and spikes get more and more powerful, even a crowd gathers to watch the game.
“Are they, like... pro or something?” someone whispers.
“I don’t know,” another voice answers, “but this feels like a Love Island episode. I’m invested.”
The next few plays blur together: your serve, Jessica’s receive, Caleb’s quick pass, your toss, Ethan’s spike, Caleb’s dive. The ball ricochets wildly, and Jessica, moving far too eagerly, lunges to save it-only to catch it square in the face.
“Ah-“
She crumples with a soft groan, clutching her face. A wave of gasps breaks through the spectators. Caleb’s already on his feet, darting toward her with visible concern.
“Jessica, hey - you okay?” He asks, crouching beside her, voice low and careful as he places a gentle hand on her back.
“Yeah-just, ow-“
You and Ethan rush over, just in time to see dark red droplets staining the sand. Caleb swiftly grabs a towel and helps her place it beneath her chin.
“Does your nose hurt when I press?” He asks, to which Jessica nods yes.
“We should go to the infirmary to check if it’s broken.” He says, helping her get up.
His warm tone and mannerisms is so strikingly different from how he’s been with you all day.
“You guys should stay here and watch over our belongings.” He says in your direction, barely looking.
You and Ethan nod.
You watch him support her, with an arm around her shoulder, watching over carefully to see if she’s okay, walk further and further away from you and towards the looming outline of the resort.
You let out a frustrated sigh you didn’t know you were holding.
“Should we go back to the condo first?” Ethan asks, voice quieter now. “It’s about time we started packing, anyway.”
You nod wordlessly, barely pulling your gaze from Caleb’s retreating figure before moving to gather your things from under the beach parasol.
“She’ll be okay,” Ethan says as you walk, both of you carrying bags in hand. “It wasn’t a direct spike. Shouldn’t have been too bad.”
You nod, not knowing, or feeling like saying anything in return.
“…You just looked worried. That’s all.”
A pang of shame washes over you. You know that the reason behind your solemn expression is because of far more selfish thoughts. You should be worried. You really should be. But instead all you can think about, ruminate about, is the way Caleb was attentive to her, wrapping an arm around her, caring about her… that maybe even he’s started developing feelings for her, in just a day… it scares you so much that it’s like nothing else in the world matters anymore.
You didn’t know you were this selfish.
Worry and jealousy sickens you so much that you end up unable to socialize with Ethan after arriving at the condo.
You manage to offer him a half-hearted excuse, and retreat to the girls’ room, trying to ignore his fallen face, and bury yourself in the white bedsheets.
You wish you could rather fall asleep, but even that’s impossible with your head racing, wondering if the two have made it to the infirmary, whether Caleb still has his arms around her, whether he’s looking at her like he does to you… full of warmth and love…
You don’t know how much time has passed when you hear Caleb and Jessica return. You hear their muffled voices over the closed bedroom door. By the lightness of it, it seems that Jessica is alright.
You don’t have it in you to greet them with a smile, so you pretend to not notice their return, and continue to lie in bed.
That's when you hear a careful knock at the door.
Though you fail to answer, the door creaks open anyway. You hear the sound of Jessica and Ethan talking in the background - then the door clicks shut behind whoever stepped in, muffling the outside world again.
You don’t look up, your head still deep in the covers.
You hear clothes rustling, and just by the measured, steady footsteps alone, you know it’s Caleb. No, you hope that it’s Caleb, but you don’t want to look up only to have your hopes shattered.
A warm hand brushes your forehead.
“You okay, pips?” A soft, worried voice asks.
It's Caleb.
Warm, loving, gentle Caleb.
Your Caleb.
And just like that, something in you snaps.
You reach up to find his hand, and wrap your fingers around his to lace them tight.
You hear his breath catch just a little, startled.
And in one swift motion, you sit up, sheets sliding off your shoulders, and pull him in for a chaste kiss.
You pull back and stare directly into his violet, startled eyes.
You’ve realized now.
This isn’t some fleeting desire.
Or some half-assed crush.
It’s true, genuine, heart-aching love.
And you’d rather die than not have him.
────── ❀•°❀°•❀ ──────
This chapter was really hard to write..... I think I still have a long way to go to improve my writing :')
“It’s normal to be stressed by a change of environment. Especially starting a new chapter in life. For now, I think you’ll feel better if we slightly increase the dosage of your antidepressants.”
As the appointment draws to an end, Zayne types something into his monitor as he explains the reason behind changes in your medication.
“Okay. Thank you.” You reply.
He is an attentive doctor. He listens to what you say, even if it comes out in shambles, patiently and objectively. His logical, nonjudgmental, and detached approach paradoxically makes you open up more. More than you’ve done on the first appointment with any other doctor.
It also makes you blurt out the thing that’s been bothering you the most these past few weeks.
“One last thing…"
You lock eyes with Zayne’s amber, attentive ones. He nods for you to go on.
You swallow and continue. “I feel like I can’t control my desires lately. The type, where, you know. You keep obsessing over a certain someone.”
“Do you feel that this obsession is, excessive? Does it interfere with your daily life?”
“Well, not really. But, it… it’s…”
You search for words. You don’t want Zayne to realize you’re talking about Caleb. What do you say?
Zayne looks at you patiently, but his stare makes you flush and fumble.
“Well, what if that person is married?” You make up the most similar scenario you can think of. “You shouldn’t like them. But you keep thinking about them and you hate yourself for it.”
Zayne follows your question with another, without any hints of judgement. “Are you in close proximity with this person often?”
“…Yes.” You answer. Agreeing shouldn’t reveal much right?
“Then I suggest you either figure out a way to distance yourself from them as much as possible. Or if that’s not possible, try to redirect your desires to another person.” He pauses a moment to see if you’re understanding him. You nod in response. “It’s not your fault you feel desires for someone you shouldn’t. It’s more common than you think. However, while feeling them is fine, acting on them is another problem.”
“…Right.” A pang of guilt washes over you as you remember yourself pressing against Caleb as a desperate act of overflowing desire.
“How about you try to do what I’ve advised you, and tell me how it works out in our next appointment in two weeks. If it doesn’t work out, we’ll go over other alternatives.”
“Yes. That’d be great.” You answer as if he’s offered you a lifeline. “Thank you.”
The appointment ends and you exit the building to find Caleb waiting for you. He’s leaning against his large black Land Rover with his legs crossed. He looks up from his phone and grins when you approach him.
“How was it, pips?”
He reaches to stroke your hair.
After a brief second of letting him touch you, you step away as you pretend to busy yourself opening the passenger door.
“It was great. I feel much better. We decided to temporarily increase my dosage.” You say as you sit down on the passenger seat.
Caleb hums as if you told him something interesting. You hold your breath as he reaches over to fasten the seatbelt for you. You can feel the heat radiating off his body with the close proximity.
“I’m glad it’s helping you.” He says affectionately before jokingly ruffling your hair, closing the door and hopping on the other side. “I wish I could be of that much help to you too, though.” He says as he turns on the engine.
“Well, you already know much of it. Plus I think it’s just the stress of starting university getting to me.”
“Right.” His long fingers tap the steering wheel rhythmically. His eyes roam over the dashboard before meeting yours, his gaze searching for something. “You sure it’s not because something else?”
“Something else…?” You dumbly repeat after him.
“Never mind.” He says with a small chuckle, shaking his head. “Just know I’m here if you want to talk it out.” He says in a sincere voice, while reaching out again.
This time, his eyes follow the movement as his fingers stroke your hair once, slowly, from the back of your head, down past your ear, and along the side of your neck. It’s less a casual gesture and more a tender caress.
You ignore the heat that blooms in your lower belly as you squirm beneath his intense, unreadable lavender gaze.
A small smile plays by his mouth as he returns his gaze back to the front and adjusts the gear. “You want to have dinner out before returning home? There’s a new burger place by the plaza.”
“…I’m a little tired.” You say as you turn your head to stare outside the car window.
“…Alright then.” After a short pause, Caleb replies.
The car starts moving smoothly out of the parking lot.
You lean back in your seat and close your eyes as if to signal to him that you’re done talking.
He takes the hint, and the car ride back home is unprecedentedly quiet.
────── ❀•°❀°•❀ ──────
Friday goes by in a breeze, and by the time you know it, you’re meeting up with Jessica and Ethan to spend the weekend at California Beach Resorts.
“Thanks for picking us up!” Jessica says as she and Ethan enter the car from a pickup place near their dorms on campus.
“We’re the ones getting a free resort night.” Caleb replies to her with a cheeky smile through the rearview mirror, his black sunglasses hanging low on the bridge of his nose. He’s wearing a black tank top that shows off his broad shoulders and thick biceps, the muscles in his arms flexing subtly as he grips the steering wheel.
“Honestly I’m surprised you even agreed to this. You always backed out of any travelling plans.” Jessica complains from the back seat.
“Probs cus of Y/N.” Ethan flatly says to her, “He acts so amicable now it’s crazy.”
You intercept before Caleb can complain. You turn to the backseat, and meet eyes with Ethan and Jessica who, with their vacation clothes and hats, look buzzing and happy. “What do you mean?”
“He has a knack for playing hard to get-” Jessica starts explaining with Ethan nodding in the side.
“I don’t know what you’re talking about.” Caleb interrupts and shakes his head in disbelief.
“Yeah pretend all you want, but we’ll show Y/N your true side. Evil side.” Ethan grins menacingly.
“Don’t listen to them.” Caleb shares a glance with you, smirking.
You’re surprised there’s a side to Caleb you haven’t seen, but then again, you’ve been noticing new sides of Caleb ever since you moved in with him.
You wonder what else you’ve yet to see.
────── ❀•°❀°•❀ ──────
The four of you share a condo by the beach. It’s more luxurious and spacious than you expect, with a big living room and kitchen, and two bedrooms. You and Jessica, Caleb and Ethan, each share a room.
“Jessica, can you help me tie this?”
You approach Jessica who’s nervously fixing her turquoise bikini, and ask for help with your white ones.
“Sure.” Jessica answers and turns around, only to openly gawk at your boobs. “Damn.”
“What?” Do they look weird? You try to cover them sheepishly but she can’t take her eyes off of them.
“I’m no better than a man.” She giggles as she moves to stand behind you.
You thank her after she helps you out, and compliment her look. She nervously returns to the mirror, fidgeting with her hair.
The two of you head out to the living room, belongings for the day in one hand.
You greet Caleb and Ethan who’s already waiting by the couch, when you notice Caleb’s face turn red as his eyes wander lower. He quickly stands up, fumbling with his bag as he pulls out a towel, eyes avoiding yours like they’ve seen something he shouldn’t have.
“You’re seriously going out like that?”
You slap away his hands that try to put a towel over your shoulders.
“We’re swimming. What do you expect?”
“Doesn’t mean you have to swim in your birthday suit?” He exaggerates the question.
“What is she, 12?” Ethan scolds Caleb who’s still hovering over you, restless like he has to take a dump. “Stop overreacting.”
Caleb doesn’t listen. You wrestle with him for a moment, and the four of you are finally able to leave the condo after you ‘at least let him’ drape the towel over you.
The beach is bustling with people who want to enjoy the last minute sun before the weather turns cold. The sunlight shatters into a million particles as it shines on the emerald waves.
The four of you make room under a private parasol by the beach.
As Caleb undresses, you start to understand why he was so adamant on you covering up.
You had vaguely noticed that he was bigger, from the way his everyday clothes hung to when you felt his muscles under your skin.
But actually seeing it for yourself - it was like his body had been sculpted by Michelangelo himself. It was hard not to gawk. And it wasn’t a surprise to see everyone else on the beach think the same.
You fight the urge to shoo every stranger staring in his direction as the four of you enter the water.
“Ah, it’s kinda cold.” Jessica says when the water reaches her ankles, hugging herself.
“Yeah, it might have even been too cold if we came next week.” You agree.
The two of you erupt into a scream as Ethan splashes water all over your direction.
“Ethan!” Jessica complains.
“I’m helping you guys - woah!” Ethan yells as Caleb picks him up like a sack of potatoes and carries him into the sea.
“Our superhero!” Jessica cheers him on from your side.
Ethan’s arms flail around as he tries to get off. As soon as the water is waist height, Caleb motions to plunge Ethan into the sea.
From a distance you hear Ethan’s frantic begging and Caleb’s evil laugh.
“You sure he’s the hero?” You ask Jessica and the both of you snicker.
Soon after, a big splash erupts and Ethan drags Caleb down with him with all his might. The two fight fervently to keep the other under water.
You and Jessica try to avoid them so as to avoid getting splashed, but somehow you end up getting caught up in their fight anyway. One moment you fight off limbs that you aren’t sure are connected to who, and in another you’re being lifted by Caleb who’s about to plunge you into the water, the same way he did to Ethan.
You wrap your arms around his neck as you frantically scream out his name. ”Caleb, Caleb!”
“Not listening-” He playfully sings as he rocks you back and forth, his hands on your waist and legs, as he motions to throw you in.
“Truce?! I said tru-” Salt water enters your mouth mid sentence as he throws you in mercilessly.
Enraged, a thousand scenarios run through your mind and you try to select the one that gives you the highest possibility of beating him.
You decide to act like you fainted. You try to float with your head underwater, but no one comes to save you. As you gasp for air you look up only to find Caleb staring at you like you’re stupid.
“No way I’m falling for that.” Caleb smiles, smug.
Huffing in frustration, you decide to switch it up and act like the salt water is killing you. You cough like an old person in a death bed, and Caleb, who at first scoffs at your blatant acting, starts to seriously worry as you stubbornly keep the act up like you’re about to cough up blood.
“Pips, you okay?”
As he reaches out a worried, unsuspicious hand, you grab it and topple him over into the water.
Grinning in victory, you push his head under, using all your weight to hold him down. His large hands shoot up and grab both your wrists to pry them off, and, in a pathetic attempt to beat the sheer imbalance in strength, you wrap your legs around his torso, clinging to him like a koala. He manages to pull your arms apart, but you hang onto him stubbornly, yelling into the water, to which he lets out a gurgling laugh in response.
You continue to splash and wrestle him above and under the water, until you accidentally end up pressing your chest against his, way harder than you intended to.
A strained sound escapes Caleb’s lips as he clenches his eyes shut and cups your upper back like its life support.
The splashing suddenly stops. Startled, you look up, in which sunlight breaks over Caleb’s face, with water dripping down his clenched jaw. Under water, your chest is still pressed flushed against his, legs wrapped tightly around him.
That’s when you also feel something hard against your ass.
Heat rushes up your spine. You panic and try to get off of him, but he doesn’t let you. His hands clamp tighter around down to your lower back and thigh, not allowing the slightest gap between you and him.
You meet eyes with darkened purple ones, ones you’ve seen too often recently than you’d like to admit, and Caleb’s hand cupping your lower thigh slowly starts to inch upwards.
“Caleb-“
You slam your mouth shut. What you meant to say as warning ends up coming out more like a breathy moan. His grip tightens in response. Flustered and extremely anxious that someone might notice, you grab a fistful of his wet hair and yank it back with every ounce of strength you have.
He winces, neat eyebrows furrowing under his slicked-back hair.
“Ow, pips,” He mutters, releasing you at least. “You trying to make me go bald? Though I don’t mind being manhandled…”
Your face flushes as his voice drops dangerously, and you hurriedly run away from him and make a beeline towards the shore. You hear him laugh and follow you from behind as you join Ethan and Jessica chatting by more shallow waters.
As you wade towards them, you try your best to catch your breath and act normal.
“Having fun?” Jessica greets you as you approach.
Before you can answer, Caleb steps up beside you, a satisfied grin still tugging at his lips. You notice the way Jessica’s body subtly angles toward him.
“You’re both soaked wet” she comments, giving you and him a once-over.
Caleb smirks. “Courtesy of Y/N.”
Caleb flops down beside you in the water, arm brushing against yours casually. You move aside to make some space. He had been excessively touchy lately, but you didn’t know he would act like this even when Ethan and Jessica were around.
“Jesus, Y/N, you okay? your eyes are red.” Ethan asks you, his green eyes looking at yours in concern, then fleeting lower before looking away.
“Yeah, I’m okay, thanks.” you answer, rubbing the residue water off your face. They were a bit sore from the salt water.
“What about me? My eyes are probably red too. Aren’t you worried about me?” Caleb whines beside you.
Ethan gives him the finger. “Y/N, call my name anytime you need a bodyguard.” He wiggles his eyebrows suggestively.
Caleb splashes him almost immediately.
“Hey!” Ethan, and Jessica who got caught up in the splash, both verbally complain.
You slap Caleb on the arm. “Be nice.” You mutter under your breath.
Caleb grins sheepishly in return. “Yes ma’am.”
────── ❀•°❀°•❀ ──────
The day goes by in a breeze. After some chatting, some snacks, a chaotic swim competition, sun bathing, and some more mindless chatter, the four of you call it a day and return to the condo for dinner.
Later, after a sunset barbecue on the balcony, you gather in the living room - skin sunburnt, hair damp, limbs comfortably heavy, you nestle on the couch as the low hum of a fan buzzes in the background, and someone’s random playlist loops quietly through the bluetooth speaker. Caleb sits next to you, letting his arm rest casually behind the couch where your shoulders are.
This time you don’t complain as Caleb moderates your alcohol intake. You admit you did go a bit overboard last time.
But while you manage to stay relatively sober, Jessica, for some reason, is adamant on getting sloppily drunk - and for some reason, also adamant on taking Ethan down with her.
“Chickening out, like a little pussy?” Jessica roughly provokes Ethan, who, flustered way too easily, ends up drinking right alongside her.
After a lot of concerning shots, Caleb finally calls it a night before anyone starts vomiting and passing out.
“Alright, it’s time to wrap it up.” Caleb says firmly, rising beside you and beginning to confiscate and hide the alcohol.
“Wait! I can handle more!” Jessica slurs as she tries to get up to chase him, only to collapse right back down.
Caleb gently leads a very docile and dazed Ethan, who keeps muttering “Where am I?”, into their shared room.
You glance at Jessica whose head is bobbing up and down from the drowsiness.
“Jessica, you need to get some rest.” You sigh, moving to lift her up by both arms.
“Nuh-uh,” she mutters stubbornly, pressing her weight down like her butt is glued to the floor.
Caleb, who shuts the door behind him as he finishes placing Ethan to rest, swiftly comes over and takes your place, slipping his arms under hers.
“Jessica,” He says in a low, gentle, cooing voice. “how about we call it a night?”
Suddenly she bursts into shy laughter and nods. Unlike before, she cooperatively gets up with Caleb’s help and leans on him as he helps her lie down on the bed.
As she lays on the bed like a sack of laundry, Caleb turns to you.
“I’ll be fine.” You whisper, reassuring him.
He chuckles lightly, strokes your cheek once, and whispers good night in your ear before leaving the room.
You make sure Jessica lays on her side so that she doesn’t choke, and get ready for bed. You listen to her loud, rhythmical breathing while you change, wash, dim the lights, and slide under the covers next to her.
You’re about to drift off to sleep when you hear sudden muffled sobbing.
Startled, you turn to see Jessica’s frame trembling with quiet cries.
“Jessica…?” You call out to her. “You okay?”
She turns toward you, face wet with tears.
“Y/N…” she chokes out between sobs.
You hesitate, unsure what to do, before opening your arms, to which she leaps in like she’s been waiting her whole life. It makes you kind of chuckle.
“Y/N. I don’t know what to do…” She murmurs, the front of your pajamas soaking steadily with her tears.
“What’s the matter?” You ask gently.
“I… I really, really like Caleb.”
You freeze. Your stomach knots instinctively, but you don’t say anything.
“I mean, I’ve liked him ever since the beginning of freshman year. Like, love at first sight. You know? And he’s just so nice, funny, and gentle. He has that quality to him, you know?” She confesses between gasps of air. You can’t help but agree. Yes, Caleb does have a quality that attracts people.
“And we got along well. Me, him, and Ethan. So I thought maybe I had a chance. I mean, look at me. I’m hot! No one’s ever rejected me.” She lets out an exasperated sigh.“But there was always this line. Like, he would block out any effort to get closer. Not just with me, but anyone in general. So I eventually gave up. Figured it was just the way he was. Maybe he even liked men!”
Her voice rises as she speaks more fervently.
“But, but then I saw how he treats you. How he’s so warm, so soft, and so open to someone he actually lets into his heart. And, it’s made me realize how much more I want him. How much I wish he treated me the way he treats you, his little sister.”
You try to ignore the dizzying shame that stirs inside you when she says ‘little sister’. But Jessica continues.
“Y/N… please. Can you help me? Just, just help me get closer to him. Just a little, please?”
You swallow a sigh as you look at her. Her head’s lifted from your chest now, and she’s staring at you with her tear-filled eyes full of hope.
You want to tell her no. You want to confess, right then and there, all the filthy thoughts you’ve had about your step brother, and the strange atmosphere that always thickens between you and him when no one’s watching. The moment from earlier that day flashes in your mind - of his hand brushing your thigh, the hunger in his eyes, and the way your body responded without hesitation.
But all you do, all you can really do, is avoid her gaze, stubbornly stare at a blank point in the wall, and try to swallow the guilt thick in your throat.
Then Zayne’s voice returns to you.
“Try to redirect your desires to another person…”
“…acting on them is another problem.”
You remember what he told you. Maybe this was the universe trying to offer you an escape hatch, from the messy, terrible road you were about to walk down.
Jessica likes Caleb. Ethan likes… you. You’d seen the way he’d stare at you.
Help Jessica, and turn your heart to Ethan. The solution was right in front of your eyes.
You look back at Jessica, who’s still looking at you like you’re her last hope.
You slowly nod.
“Okay.” you whisper. “I’ll help you.”
You say it like someone’s holding you at a gunpoint.
And Jessica’s face lights up like it’s early Christmas.
As she keeps thanking you, she hugs you tightly as her left over tears soak into your pajamas once again. You try to hold back your own tears, blinking up at the ceiling, as you tell yourself that this is the way things should play out in a normal world.
A world with a happy ending everyone deserves.

Chapter 5
Never mind the fact that you’ve turned crazy, thinking about things that any sensible person should not be thinking about their step brother.
But why on earth was Caleb so accepting, and so enthusiastic about it too?
Sure you’d been the one to close the distance first. But now it was like the roles were reversed and he couldn’t get enough.
You’d seen the way his eyes thirsted after your lips. The way he pulled you in and rubbed his cheeks against yours, a touch tad bit too intimate.
Since then he’s been coddling you at every opportunity. From brushing your teeth together, with him standing behind you, a hand caging you between him and the sink, smiling when your eyes meet his in the mirror - cuddling on the couch, his arm pulling you in before you even ask, even vocally protesting if you sit too far away - to gently touching your cheek after he reaches over and fastens the seat belt for you in the car.
It’s like the traces of your new found feelings that leaked out of you like an overflowing basin had also flipped a switch within him.
The way he was acting… it was as if… if he … had deep, flaming romantic feelings for you.
Did he? Since when? Is that why he got hard on the first night?
Or was he just a pervert…? Like, any female will do? Is that it?
An image of Caleb rubbing his hands together and smiling like a perverted middle aged man flashes through your mind and you try to shake it off.
“… you up for it?”
You snap out of your trance to see three pairs of eyes staring at you.
“Huh?” You say dumbly. “Sorry. I didn’t catch that.”
“You trying to marinate your sleeves or something?” Caleb says beside you, with an amused expression. You look down to see your sleeve dangerously hanging over your lunch. He reaches for your sleeve and starts rolling it up for you.
“I can do it.” You say to him.
You try to pull your arm away, but his large, warm hand firmly grips your wrist as a way of saying that he’s fine with doing it for you.
Without a word, he rolls up the sleeve, his long, lean fingers neatly folding the fabric in a gentle manner. He gestures for you to hand the other arm, and continues with the other side.
“I said, are you up for it?”
Jessica asks you again, with a look in her eyes that you can’t quite place. Her eyes flicker down to Caleb folding your sleeve, and up to your eyes again.
“…Oh. Yeah. Sure. It sounds fun.” You answer without much thought into it. “The four of us, California Beach Resorts this weekend, right?”
“Yeah. Don’t tell the others.” Ethan chimes in beside Jessica. “We only have four tickets, and if they find out we went without them, we’re never gonna hear the end of it.”
You let out a small laugh. Caleb laughs and agrees like it’s the funniest thing he’s heard all week.
Ethan stares at Caleb like he grew a second head. “What’s wrong with you?”
“What?” Caleb blinks, smile fading.
“Something good happen recently? You’re practically beaming.” Ethan says, narrowing his eyes.
“Yeah.” Caleb slightly pauses. “Maybe it’s because you got rejected by the receptionist at Gym Haven.”
Ethan’s face instantly heats up at Caleb’s jab.
“Come here,” He says, half-smiling as he raises his fist in mock threat.
Caleb laughs and blocks Ethan’s playful punches from across the table.
“Guys, you’re gonna make a mess!” Jessica scolds as a couple of utensils clatter to the ground.
“My bad.” Caleb says as him and Ethan calm down and slide back into their seats.
Then, briefly and almost secretly, Caleb glances at you with a lingering smile on his face. The way he softly shares a private glance with you, and shyly fixes his ruffled hair afterwards, makes you think he’s saying you’re the cause of his recent good mood.
It sends butterflies fluttering in your stomach.
One from joy, and one from guilt.
You don’t know what to do.
────── ❀•°❀°•❀ ──────
That lunch must’ve gone bad, because you end up having the worst stomach ache after class.
You barely make it to the bathroom stall inside the swimming center. You let out a sigh of relief as you drop an atomic bomb on the toilet.
Not long afterwards, while you’re still sitting on the toilet, you hear familiar voices enter the bathroom.
“Oh my gosh Caleb’s so hot today in that bomber jacket.”
“I know right, I feel like he just gets hotter day by day.”
“I heard he works out a lot.”
It’s the girls in your swim club. The ones that surrounded you on the first day of practice. They must’ve bumped into Caleb outside, after he walked you to the center.
“Isn’t it so sweet of him to always walk Y/N to swim practice?”
“Yeah… but like… don’t you think they’re a bit too close? Like, it’s kinda weird.”
You freeze.
“Oh my gosh yeah. I heard my friend saw them downtown last weekend. She thought Caleb was with his girlfriend when it turned out to be his sister!”
“Ew… are you for real? I mean, she does get weirdly defensive when I mention Caleb in front of her.”
“Do you think that’s why Caleb never got a girlfriend?”
“No way.”
They gasp and giggle like it’s something scandalous.
Then, in a breeze, they leave, leaving you in the dead quiet of the bathroom, while you sit on the toilet like its some kind of torture device.
You feel like someone dumped a bucket of ice-cold water over your head.
Your two feet, which were once floating up in the air in giddy foolishness, have slammed back down to the ground with a cold, cruel thud.
Of course people recognized Caleb downtown a couple of days ago. He knew half the population here!
What the fuck were you thinking?
Dragging him into your dark, foul desires. Desires that will never, under any circumstance, be accepted by society.
People were already talking behind his back - and it felt like it was all your fault.
The guilt and shame bloom in your chest, grow thorns, and by the end of the day, your mental state is worse than it’s been in years.
You’re unable to respond to Caleb when he pulls you in for a hug once you arrive home. He rests his chin on your head, and lets out a long sigh, like he’s been waiting all day just to do this.
“What’s wrong, pips?” He asks when you fail to reciprocate the hug. He leans back just enough to look down at you, concern softening his features.
His eyes have that tender warmth to them again. As much as it makes you giddy, it makes you sick with shame.
“Nothing. Just… a long day.” You lightly push him back. “I think I need some rest.”
For a second, he scrutinizes you like you’re a puzzle he can’t solve. Then his shoulders relax.
“…Okay.” Caleb murmurs, gently tucking a stray hair behind your ear. “Call me if you need anything.”
You nod and retreat into your room.
You just feel so awful. Of course you’re set on ruining the one most valuable thing in your life - Caleb - like you always ruin everything. Like your parents’ marriage when you were little. Like the words your bullies screamed at you at school. Before your mom remarried and Caleb came along.
You spiral. You cry a lot, then lie in bed lifelessly, only to cry again, at everything and anything. Suddenly living feels unbearable.
Eventually, you find enough strength to reach out to Zayne.
You’d been putting it off ever since Caleb got weird about it. For some reason, he seemed to really dislike the idea of you seeing Zayne.
On the phone, you explain to Zayne that your condition has been awful lately, and to much of your gratitude, he tells you he had a cancellation and can see you as early as tomorrow. You’re so relieved you nearly cry again.
After a long moment, you decide to tell Caleb.
You enter the living room to find Caleb on the couch, absentmindedly typing away on his laptop.
As soon as he notices you, his whole face lights up.
You think he kind of reminds you of a puppy.
“You feeling okay?” He asks in a gentle voice.
“Yeah.”
He pats the seat next to him, and you take it without a word.
He stares at you intently before tenderly stroking the area below your eyes with his thumb.
“Have you been crying? Your eyes are red.”
His handsome face, full of concern, leans in to get a better look. You lean back slightly, which doesn’t go unnoticed by Caleb. His brows slightly furrow.
“…Um. Yeah. Not feeling too good.” You rush to say more before he can press. “About it, I scheduled an appointment with Zayne tomorrow.”
“…What?” He says, voice low and quiet.
His amethyst eyes flicker as he searches for something in yours.
“I haven’t been feeling good lately. My mood is all over the place. And I know I lied about getting dinner with him before, but I need his help.”
You bite your lower lip. Why does Caleb look hurt?
He lowers his gaze and swallows, hard. He roughly runs a hands through his brown hair. He sits with it for a second, lets out a sigh, before slowly nodding.
“If it helps you, then okay.” But he looks anxious. His eyes are downturned in protest as he looks at you, with a pout on his face. “Can you give me some reassurance though?”
“Reassurance?” You repeat after him, confused.
He reaches for your hand resting in your lap and holds it like something dear. He adjusts the grip so that his large fingers interlace with yours. The way he slowly applies pressure is like he’s applying pressure directly to your heart.
He brings your hand up to his cheek and rests against it.
“I’m scared that he’s your type. He looks like Mr.George from eight grade, you know. The one you had a huge crush on.”
You look at him in confusion. He still remembers that?
He stares at you intently and continues. You’re stuck in a trance as his mouth seems to move in slow motion.
“Don’t fall for him, okay?”
His usual soft eyes are gone.
Instead, there is something dark, and damp within the depths of his gaze, that you wonder has always been hiding there all along.
And suddenly, the way his hands grip around yours starts to feel like a shackle.
And all of this pressure you silently, giving you no choice but to nod slowly, in submission.
For the first time, you begin to question your judgment.
Maybe you weren't the one that started this fiery, thrilling mess.
Maybe it had always been simmering just beneath the surface - waiting to pull you in, strand by strand, into the delicate web spun by its true designer.

Chapter 4
Something within you has changed.
Ever since the two of you made up, Caleb has returned to his confident, playful self, teasing you every chance he gets.
The problem is, you don’t know how to react anymore.
It’s like you’re broken.
When he headlocks you, the old you would’ve been half annoyed and push him away without much thought Now, all you can focus on is his warmth, his scent, and how thick and hard his biceps are around your neck.
When you lock eyes with him, you wonder how much eye contact you should be making with him, before looking away with your heart beating inside your throat.
Did he always stare at you like that? like the gentle warmth of twilight? Enough to make your insides swirl?
Even his aura seems to have changed. The way he carries himself draws you in like a fly trap. It’s like the air around him is sweeter, deeper, thicker. Like flowers that bloom first in spring, his existence is vivid and beautiful and makes everything else seem grey and bleak.
And images - explicit images that you shouldn’t be thinking about Caleb - especially that dream (you’ve decided that it was a dream) of Caleb moaning against your feet and touching himself - intrude your mind no matter how much you try to fight it.
The more it calls to you, the more you realize that your love for Caleb has distorted into something so shameful you can’t dare admit, not even to yourself.
But despite the shame gnawing at your insides every waking second, you just don’t have it in you too pull away from him.
So you subconsciously draw closer to him - just enough to placate the gnawing desires and keep you sane - like a droplet of water offered to a thirsting man - but not enough to completely cross the line.
On Sunday, the second day after movie night, Caleb shows you around downtown.
You walk past skyscrapers and stroll along the beachside piers, the salt-kissed breeze tangling your hair, and soft early-autumn sunlight on your skin. You stay close - close enough that your arm brushes against his every chance you get. Caleb doesn’t pull away.
And when he laughs at something you say and casually drapes an arm around your shoulder, just like he often does, you take the opportunity to lean in and press your side firmly against his. For a moment, he goes still - just a flicker of hesitation - before pulling you in tighter.
What would’ve been the usual fleeting touch stretches into something lasting - his arm returns to your shoulder, and the entirety of his torso, hips, and thighs press into yours again and again, like it’s normal. Like the two of you have been glued to each other your whole life.
And you’re swept along with it - with the ease of his touch, the way it feels so natural, so thoughtless, like this is just how it’s supposed to be.
The way his palm covers yours completely when he leans in to steal a bite of your lobster hotdog.
The way he tucks away the strands of hair the sea breeze displaces, his fingers brushing your skin without pause.
The way he gently grabs your wrist to guide you through a crowded area.
You wonder whether his touches always lingered this much, or you’re just noticing it now.
By the end of the day, your skin feels electric. You’re buzzing from having felt too much for too long.
It’s like you’re on a high. You catch a glimpse of yourself in a passing mirror and notice that your cheeks are flushed like a little baby.
And when you’re sitting beside Caleb on the tram ride back, trading lazy chatter with your knee touching his, you notice the slight glow in his expression. He looks a little elated and a little more jittery than usual. You wonder whether he feels the same.
You unwind after arriving home. After changing into your pajamas, you lay on your bed and try to distract yourself from your jittery insides. You open your journal, scribble some mindless notes, try to focus on social media content, scribble some more, reply to some texts, try meditation… you’re nearly losing it when Caleb knocks on your door.
“Hey pips. You wanna watch something together?” He asks with a hand on his neck.
There’s no way you could say no. All your efforts of calming yourself go down the drain as you join him on the couch for a show.
You try to sit far away from him, but he gives you a look with an eyebrow raised and you cave in like a paper in the wind. Grinning like an idiot, you scoot closer, leaving just enough space for your conscience.
“What do you wanna watch?” His asks, voice a perfect mix of light and low. It sounds almost… lewd. “What about this one? I heard the actors actually started dating after filming this.”
“Sure.” You say, barely registering his words. You’re too focused on the rise and fall of his chest with every syllable.
Not long after the show starts, Caleb’s arm finds his way around your shoulder again. You’re not too sure if he pulls you in, or if you lean in. You rest your head against his shoulder, and hear a shaky sigh from above.
You lazily play with his fingers that hang around your shoulder.
Suddenly wet, sticky noises and breathless gasps fill the room as the actors on screen start making out like the world is ending. You blink, trying to piece together what you missed. But you’ve been too focused on… other things.
You try to suppress the vulgar thoughts that pop into your head - the images that swap the actors with you and a certain someone - when you hear a frustrated breath above your head.
The next thing you know, Caleb is pulling you into a hug.
You bite your lip to stop a sound from escaping - why does your body feel so hypersensitive? As you wrap your arms around his waist, he lets out a low, hoarse voice, his lips brushing against your ear.
“You’re driving me crazy, pips…”
His voice shoots straight down your stomach and heat pools where you don’t want to admit.
A quiet whimper slips out.
His hand finds its way from the base of your neck to your cheek, and he leans back enough to meet your gaze.
His eyes are dark, and hungry.
You’ve never seen them like this.
It scares you as much as it excites you.
His eyes shift lower to your lips. You know exactly what he’s thinking. You shouldn’t. He shouldn’t. But your mind goes blank. All you can stare at are his pink ones.
But then he swallows, hard. And averts his gaze. The palpable tension between the two of you dissipate, and he lets out a low sigh before pulling you in again, rubbing his cheek against yours.
You release the tension you weren’t so aware of, and lean into his embrace. All the while, you convince yourself, your stupid, stupid self,
that this is perfectly,
what normal step siblings do.

Chapter 3
You wake up to a headache. One that’s between pounding and mildly uncomfortable.
As you get up you notice that you’re still in your jeans and t-shirt. Your reflection in the mirror is a sight to behold - messy hair, smudged mascara, puffy face.
Right, you drank too much last night.
You try to recall what happened. Much of it is a blur. Some memories of you dancing, yelling, laughing… getting dizzy…
You decide to take a shower. As you leave your room you say good morning to Caleb who’s already awake and sitting by the kitchen table.
You close the bathroom door behind you, undress, and turn on the shower. You feel the hot stream of water engulf your body. Your headache feels a little better.
You recall your short interaction with Caleb just now. As always, he looked spotless and ready, scrolling through his phone with a mug in his hand. A bystander wouldn’t be able to tell he drank last night too. You laugh at the difference between you and him.
You stop laughing when a sudden memory surfaces.
Of him groaning and caressing your foot.
His shaky, warm breath. Suppressed moans. The rhythmical sound of skin on skin. A wet sound unique enough that you can’t possibly mistake it for anything else. The low, deep, suppressed moan that filled the room.
The memory comes by like a flash.
Your body heats up even faster. Your stomach drops and you grip on the walls in a sudden bout of dizziness. Your breath comes out in ragged pants.
This was weird. The memory was weird, your reaction to it was even weirder. As much as it called to you, you wanted to run a way from it.
You try to shake it off by hurriedly showering like you got a meeting to run to. You wrap a large beach towel around your body and leave the bathroom. You slap yourself in the face a couple times before changing in your room, then apply some moisturizer before heading back into the kitchen.
“Mornin’ pipsqueak. Feeling alright?” Caleb greets you with a smirk above his mug.
You lock eyes with his purple ones. They’re clear and bright. For some reason you feel even hotter. You struggle to open your mouth.
“Why are your cheeks so red?” He suddenly asks in a concerned tone.
He swiftly comes over and towers over you.
“Do you have a fever?”
He asks, raising a hand to your forehead.
You're suddenly overwhelmed. His scent, his touch, his voice—everything crashes over you like a wave.
You flinch and push his hand away. "I'm fine. The water must’ve been too hot," you mumble, too quickly.
He blinks, clearly thrown off by your rough dismissal, as if he missed a line in the conversation.
It’s not like you to pull away from him.
"You sure?" he asks again, quieter this time.
"Yeah. I don’t have a fever. Just a slight headache," you reply, sitting down at the table to put some space between you and him. "Is this what a hangover feels like?"
He goes with the flow and settles into the seat across from you.
"Well, you did drink a crazy amount. You even hit that magical level of drunk where you tried to pet your drink like it was a cat." He chuckles at the memory, shaking his head. "Here, drink a lot of water. It helps."
He pours you a glass and slides it across the table.
"...Thanks," you murmur, eyes down.
“Want some eggs and toast? Eating carbs also help.” He gets up and heads to the counter top.
“Yes please.”
“You know, my friends were right. I'm glad I was there for your first drink.” He turns around and chats to you while making the food. “You drank and partied like a wild child off the leash. What would you have done if I weren’t around to take care of you?”
His demeanor is the same as always—quintessential Caleb. But his refreshing smile and upbeat voice stand in stark contrast to the dark, ragged, breathy moans buried deep in your memory, stirring a profound sense of dissonance. The Caleb in it is so different from the Caleb you know and see in front of you right now, that it makes you seriously question if you had dreamt it all.
“I think I went a bit overboard precisely because you were around.” You hide these thoughts within you and answer instead.
“That’s touching. But you gotta promise me you won’t drink like that when I’m not around.”
“Yeah yeah,” you brush him off. “Did you drink a lot last night?” You ask him. Maybe it was the booze that made him act weird.
"Not really. I don’t like drinking much.” So that possibility goes out the window. “It scares me—not having full control over my body.”
He walks over to hand you breakfast, and you reach for it.
Your fingers graze his, and you flinch.
In an instant, your hands pull back. The plate slips and crashes to the floor. The sharp crack of shattering glass fills the kitchen.
You look up to find a wide-eyed Caleb, frozen in tracks. His eyes are full of confusion.
You’re equally bewildered.
What the fuck is wrong with me? you chastise yourself.
The first time could be dismissed as a mistake, but a second time?
“…My bad,” you say, avoiding his questioning gaze. “I’ll clean it up.”
He stops you with a hesitant arm—close, but not touching.
“You’re barefoot. I’ll clean it.”
You sink back into your chair, watching him silently as he retrieves the dustpan and broom.
His face looks two shades paler, like he saw something he wasn’t meant to.
The clink of glass against the dustpan fills the quiet space.
He doesn’t ask why you’re acting weird.
Instead, he keeps his mouth shut and head down, like he’s holding something in.
And somehow, that makes everything feel even weirder.
────── ❀•°❀°•❀ ──────
Days pass, and the unspoken tension between you and Caleb shows no signs of easing.
For some reason, he acts like you have the plague. The casual touches—the hair ruffles, the absentminded caresses—are gone. Now, he keeps a full meter of space between you, like proximity itself might hurt him.
It leaves you restless.
The more he withdraws, the more you cling to fragments of the past—the way he’d pull you into his chest, the warmth of his hands on your head, and, to your dismay, the guilt-heavy memory of his moans, his body pressed against yours.
The harder you try to forget, the deeper it seems to etch itself into your mind.
Maybe it’s the shame. Or maybe it’s the fear. Either way, even as the need to reach for him grows stronger by the day, you can’t bring yourself to be the one to close the distance.
And then, just like that, while your head is a total mess, university starts.
You meet a lot of new people in your major and in your swimming club.
“Oh, wow, you’re Y/N, right?” A sophomore in your swimming club recognizes you in the locker room on the first day of swim practice.
Startled, you turn around, hiding your naked body beneath the swimsuit you were holding.
“Yes?” You reply.
“You’re Caleb’s sister!”
Her friends join at the word. They surround you like a flock of pigeons.
“Oh my gosh, you’re so pretty. Your family must have great. genes.” She must not know you and Caleb aren’t related by blood.
“Caleb and I are close.” Another says with her nose in the air.
“What do you mean close.” Another scoffs. “You listened to a seminar with him once.”
“Once more than you, bitch?”
“Excuse me?”
You hurriedly shout above the chattering.
“If! It’s okay-” they turn to look at you. “I’d like to change, please?”
At that, they sheepishly laugh and give you space.
But they’re persistent - they make sure to leave the best impression on you. They get your number and invite you to every gathering and opportunity they get.
You knew Caleb was popular in high school, but was it ever to this extent?
You really want to be proud of him, but it gets harder with every conversation, every message from another girl whose intentions couldn’t be more obvious.
Therefore you end up mostly keeping to yourself, and stick only to a small group of friends from your department.
“Shouldn’t you be, like, out partying or something?” Ethan asks during your first movie night with Caleb’s friends. “You’re a freshman. Second week of school. Peak chaos time.”
“I wasn’t invited,” you reply, settling onto the couch.
Ethan laughs like you just told the best joke he’s ever heard.
“What?” you ask, raising an eyebrow.
Ethan and his friend Jacob exchange a look.
“You’re hot,” Jacob says flatly, like it’s just a fact. “There’s probably a line of people waiting to invite you.”
“Yeah, like... Hollywood hot,” Ethan adds, nodding.
Before you can respond, Caleb clears his throat from behind them.
They both jolt upright as he walks into the room and sets a giant bowl of popcorn on the table—hard enough to make the kernels jump.
His expression is neutral, but his tone isn’t.
“I really hope you two aren’t trying to flirt with my sister.”
“We weren’t!” Jacob blurts out.
“They were.” Jessica chimes in casually from beside you, a smirk playing on her lips.
“Absolute clowns.”
Caleb mutters with a shake of his head, then grabs the nearest cushion off the floor and lobs it at Ethan.
Jacob yelps as a second cushion comes flying his way.
“Hey! We were being nice!”
Caleb just shrugs, a wide grin spreading from ear to ear. “This is me being nice.”
He then scans the room for a seat. The only open spot is right beside you.
His gaze lingers for half a second before turning away.
“Hey, Jessica,” he says casually. “Mind scooting over?”
She moves without question.
And because you were sitting next to her, you end up shifting too—all the way to the edge of the couch.
You pretend it doesn’t sting, but it does. He's distancing himself again.
You end up not being able to focus on the movie at all. Your mood plummets lower each time Jessica jokingly taps Caleb’s arm, or slightly shift towards him.
“But didn’t you say you love me?!” The actress shouts from inside the TV. “If you loved me, you wouldn’t be doing this!”
Exactly! You agree with the actress with clenched teeth. He shouldn’t do that if he loves her!
By the time the ending credits roll, you’re on the verge of tears.
You have a hard time socializing afterward. You thought you disguised your distraught well enough, but as everyone is getting ready to leave, Zayne quietly comes up to you and asks you in a hushed tone.
“You okay?”
Something about his gentle tone makes your throat tighten.
You swallow the lump of emotions rising up.
“Yeah. I’m fine. Thanks.”
You force a smile, looking up into his amber eyes.
He must be a damn good psychiatrist—catching what you tried so hard to hide and choosing to care anyway. Just as he turns to go, you call out.
“Zayne.” He pauses and looks back, head tilting slightly. You lick your lips. “Do you have space for an extra booking?”
Understanding flickers in his gaze. “Yes. How about I give you my number.”
“Sounds great.” you say quickly, trying not to sound too eager.
As he pulls out his wallet, you catch Caleb turning around in the background—his eyes landing on you.
You pretend not to notice.
“Thanks,” you say as Zayne hands you a crisp white business card.
You walk with him to the door, where everyone is starting to leave.
“I should be free next week.” Zayne tells you as he steps out.
“Sounds good!” you reply, voice bright.
The door closes behind him with a soft click.
Just as you’re about to turn around to go to your room, Caleb’s voice cuts through the silence.
“Free for what?”
You pause. “Huh?” You don’t really want to talk to him right now.
“You’re meeting up with Zayne?”
“Yeah. What about it?”
His expression tightens. The way he stares at you tugs out emotions you barely just suppressed.
Why is he looking at you like you’re the one at fault?
“What- you’re having dinner with him, or something?” His eyebrows furrow beneath his neat brown hair.
“Yeah. He seems nice.” You lie just to get on his nerves. “And hot.”
You turn on your heel, not waiting for his reaction.
But before you can take two steps, a hand roughly grabs your wrist and sharply pulls you back.
“Hey! What the hell, Caleb?” you shout, stumbling as he spins you around.
You’re about to push him away when he pulls you in for a strong embrace.
Your breath catches as his arms lock around you.
Your body reacts before your mind does- first going rigid, then melting into a warm, helpless puddle.
As he buries his head in the crook of your shoulder, you don’t know if the pounding heartbeat you feel through the fabric is yours… or his.
He doesn’t say anything.
“What’s wrong with you?” You demand, voice shaking, even as a wave of relief crashes over you at the familiar warmth.
You push at him half-heartedly, a pathetic attempt when your arms feel like jelly.
“Don’t push me away.” He murmurs, his voice low and rough in your ear.
It sends a shiver down your spine.
“You-” your voice falters. “You’re the one who’s been pushing me away…”
He tightens his embrace in response.
Your words disappear into the fabric of his shirt, swallowed by the steady rise and fall of his chest.
The anger that had been clinging to you these past few weeks slips away—quietly, like it never belonged.
Slowly, you lift your arms and wrap them around him, drawing him closer.
He exhales at your touch, like he’s been holding his breath this whole time.
You fully bury yourself in his warmth, something you missed for what felt like eternity. The ache of it nearly brings tears to your eyes.
“Is this okay?” Caleb whispers, pulling back just enough to look at you.
His amethyst eyes are soft and warm, like he’s asking for permission.
Permission for what?
You’re confused, but you feel like you should nod anyway.
And when you do, he smiles, brighter than he has in weeks, and pulls you back into his arms with a quiet sigh.
Nothing was really resolved, but some things are better left unsaid.
You close your eyes and hold on tighter.
Things are finally back to the way they were, and for now, that was more than enough.

Chapter 2
You had a tough time falling asleep last night.
Why did Caleb get hard while you were on top of him?
Sure, you two were closer than most step siblings, and sometimes you two were touchy feely, and a little possessive. But that comes with most close relationships, right? Its a kind of love language.
But him getting hard… and you accidentally touching it? Well.. that was a different issue.
Was it just a boy thing? Where you know, female body parts just automatically rouse up a response, like a sunflower chasing the sun.
I mean, he’s a horny 20 year old. It’s the hormones.
The more you think about it, the more it makes sense. It’s just a boy thing.
With this conclusion in mind, you have no problem at all pretending nothing happened as you enter the kitchen in the morning.
“Good morning.” You greet a cooking Caleb as you sit down at the table.
“Mornin’.” He turns around from the stove and greets you with a smile. “Eggs and bacon?”
“Sounds amazing.” You get up to help him around the kitchen.
The two of you are uncommonly quiet, only the sizzling sound of food and the exhaust fan filling up the kitchen.
You sit across each other and start to eat breakfast in silence.
“How about we leave the house at 11?” Caleb asks, the first to break the silence.
“Sounds good.” You raise your head to look at Caleb. “Can we go to the DeepSpace Research Center first? I really wanna check it out.”
“Of course.” Caleb chuckles at your enthusiasm. “Though you’re probably gonna rot in there the next four years, anyway.”
With his smile he has his usual light demeanor. But you also can’t but help notice his eyebags and a faint tiredness in his eyes.
“Gotta check out the quality of my prison first.” You say as matter of fact. “I also want to see your building.” ”The aerospace engineering building? There’s not much.”
“Still. I wanna see everything. Where you study, where you eat, hang out with friends…”
“Really?” Caleb asks, his eyes lighting up.
You raise your eyebrows as if to ask him if he’s seriously asking that question.
Caleb smiles and lowers his eyes. He fidgets with his food. “Then we can go to the research center first, then visit the park on the way to the aerospace engineering building-”
You listen as he goes over the plans of today with an excited expression.
The two of you end up doing exactly as planned.
The observatory is bigger and better than you could’ve ever imagined. You can’t help but run around the place like a toddler. Caleb follows you around every nook and cranny with no complaints.
Then you check out his building. As expected from Mr. popular, you bump into a lot of Caleb’s friends there. By a lot, you mean one out of three people.
“Hey Caleb!” Another group of people greet him as you walk through the main hall. Two girls and a guy.
They eye you over curiously as Caleb answers. “Hey Cassie, Gwen, Mike.”
“Finally got yourself a girlfriend?” The blonde girl blatantly asks as the two of you pass by them.
Caleb looks back to reply. “She’s my sister.”
“My bad!” She replies sheepishly and shares a glance with her friends. They burst into laughter in the distance.
The two of you then visit the sports facility, Caleb’s favorite library, then have lunch at his favorite Chinese restaurant near campus.
You’re about to dig into your fried rice when the owner greets Caleb brightly.
“Caleb! I see you bought over your sister.”
Not surprisingly, the Chinese lady seems very fond of Caleb.
“Hey Amy. Yeah, this is Y/N.” Caleb smiles brightly and replies.
“Hey Y/N. I’ve heard so much about you,” She shakes your hand excitedly. You try to match her enthusiasm and nod back. “ You have no idea how excited he was that you were coming here for university! And you’re even prettier than the pictures Caleb showed me! He has a folder full of-“
Caleb hurriedly interrupts the excited owner. “Amy!” You notice that his ears are red. “Don’t compliment her too much. Her head’s already big enough.”
“Hey!” You protest. “What? No it’s not?”
The owner chuckles as she watches the two of you bicker. “Brothers.” She says as she winces her face and stares at you jokingly. “They just are something aren’t they?”
“Tell me about it.” You lock eyes with Caleb as you agree with a playful smirk on your face.
“I remember my brother used to tease me all the time when I was little. Thought he was annoying, but now I miss him the most. He’s back in China.” She sighs and explains as she brings out an extra side dish from the kitchen. “Here, this is on the house. Come by often Y/N okay?”
“Of course, thank you!” You smile and reply.
“Thanks Amy.” Caleb says with a warm smile. She affectionately pats Caleb on the shoulder before leaving.
The two of you start eating the food after she leaves.
“So.” You start. “You have a folder full of my photos?”
Caleb chokes on the soup he was drinking.
You pour a glass of water for him as he goes into a coughing fit.
After it dies down, his face is red from all the coughing.
“Of course not. It’s a folder full of family pictures.“
“Oh okay. Can I see?” You ask.
“…Eat your food first.” He replies.
“Fine.”
You suppress a smile as you decide to pester him again about it later.
You don’t know why, but the thought of him having a folder dedicated to your photos makes you kind of giddy inside.
────── ❀•°❀°•❀ ──────
Orientation flies by in a beat. You meet a lot of new people in your major. Ice-breaking activities are awkward as usual, and the club fair was fun to visit.
After everything, you meet up with Caleb and return home together.
You’re about to have dinner when the door bell rings unexpectedly.
“I’ll get it!” You tell Caleb who’s busy cooking.
You open the door to find a pair of excited eyes looking down at you.
Scratch that. Five pairs of excited eyes, looking down at you.
“Oh my god! You’re Y/N!”
The girl in front squeals as she comes in with a sudden hug.
“We got lucky she opened the door!” ”She’s really here!”
The group talks excitedly and surrounds you like a mob.
Flabbergasted, you awkwardly reciprocate the hug and helplessly stumble backwards into the house.
“We’ve heard so much!” The girl pulls back and smiles at you. Her energy and blonde hair reminds you of a golden retriever. “I’m Jessica.”
“Seriously?“ Caleb emerges from the kitchen with a slightly annoyed expression.
“Caleb!” The group greets him excitedly.
“Didn’t I tell you guys not to come over?” Caleb huffs, a flipper in one hand.
He gives you a glance that asks if you’re okay with this.
You gesture with your hand and make an expression that it’s completely fine and he doesn’t need to worry.
“Come on dude,” a guy heads over to him and hands him a bottle of wine. “You seriously expected us to listen?”
Relax- he tells a protesting Caleb, and turns him around to take him back to the kitchen.
A few others follow suit.
You’re left facing Jessica and a tall guy with black hair. His clean cut and stoic demeanor leaves an impression.
“We’re close friends of Caleb.” Jessica explains as a matter of fact after looking at your dumbfounded expression. “This is Zayne. He’s my cousin.”
“Hey. Nice to meet you.” Zayne says. His yellow eyes look down at you.
“Hey, I’m Y/N.” You answer back while shaking his hand.
“Caleb wouldn’t shut up about you coming to California. Naturally, we became invested as well. We were so excited. Then he tells us last minute that we can’t meet you? Like what’s up with that?” Jessica explains while rolling her eyes.
The three of you head to the kitchen.
You thank Zayne as he hands you a bottle of whiskey. You place it on the kitchen counter top.
You laugh at Jessica’s annoyed expression. “I guess he can be a little cryptic sometimes.”
“More like self centered.” Jessica scoffs.
“How did you guys meet Caleb?” You ask.
“Ethan, the guy over there-” Jessica points to a red haired guy talking excitedly to Caleb. “and I are in the same major as Caleb. We started having a movie night here at Caleb’s every other Friday. Ethan brought his flat mates,” she points to two girls and a guy talking in the kitchen corner, “and I brought Zayne… and it kinda became a weird mix.”
It feels weird to listen about a part of Caleb’s life that you didn’t know about. You guess he didn’t tell you completely everything.
Why didn’t he tell you everything?
“Sounds cool. Can I join next time?” You ask.
“Of course!” She answers like it’s the greatest thing she ever heard.
“I mean, you live here.” Zayne chuckles. “It’d be weird if you didn’t join.”
“Yeah, that’s why it’s so weird Caleb wanted to hide you for himself. Like, what?” Jessica says.
“What did I do?” Jessica jumps at Caleb’s sudden intrusion. Caleb stands next to her and stares at her accusingly with a playful smirk.
Jessica laughs awkwardly. “We were just talking about how great of a friend you are! Caleb.”
You notice that Jessica’s face is a notch redder. She tucks a strand of hair behind her ear and smoothens out her ends.
“Yeah. sure.” Caleb answers. He briefly glances at Zayne, then at you before looking away. “Anyway, there’s not enough food for all of us, so I’m thinking about ordering pizza. Sound good?”
“Sounds perfect!” Jessica answers.
“Good.” Caleb answers. As he’s walking away to call the pizza place, Zayne joins him and murmurs that he’ll pay for the food. Caleb politely declines, but Zayne seems insistent.
You watch them move to the living room.
“Zayne should pay. He’s a popular psychiatrist. Makes more money in a single day than all of our yearly income.” Jessica explains to you.
“Oh really? How old is he? He looks too young to be a psychiatrist.”
Jessica laughs. “He’s 28. He’ll be happy if you tell him that.”
Another thing Caleb didn’t tell you.
Because you moved here for university, you had to find a new psychiatrist. You had asked Caleb if he knew any in the area. He had said no. Was it because Zayne was too popular to book anyway?
You decide to ask Zayne if he can squeeze in another reservation.
In the mean while, you follow Jessica’s lead to become familiar with the rest of Caleb’s friends.
You get caught up in their energy and end up drinking for the first time.
“Come on Caleb, you know how college is. She’s gonna end up drinking anyway sooner or later. It’s better she does it in front of you, and in your house.”
They convince a frustrated Caleb who’s almost about to go into a fit and confiscate your cranberry vodka mixed drink.
“Who knew he’d be such a buzzkill?” One of his friends secretly snickers and whispers into your ear.
As the night goes on, you realize that maybe Caleb was right.
You seemed like you could hold your alcohol. Heck, maybe even a better drinker than Caleb. You dared him to a drinking contest, to much of the glee of his friends. He declined but you drank on anyway. Turns out, you were the type to get secretly, severely drunk.
Before you realize it, you’re laughing and dancing and shouting slurred words.
Then you realize you’re leaning on Caleb as the world spins around you. The chatter of people around you seem distant and incomprehensible.
The next time you come to your senses, you’re being carried by Caleb somewhere. His warmth feels nice. You decide to keep up the sleeping act. You’re too tired to make a move anyway. You lie limp as he carefully lays you down on a bed-your bed. The surroundings seem quiet. Everyone must’ve gone home.
You hear his clothes rustle as he clears strands of hair off of your face. His touch is gentle.
Then he goes weirdly still. Or, that’s what you think because you don’t hear anything. Not even a faint breath.
It goes on for some time. You’re about to open your eyes to check what he’s doing, when you hear him finally move away from you.
He gently grabs your ankle and takes off your shoes. He stops just as he’s about to peel your socks off, as if he’s contemplating whether he should, and decides to go through with it.
He carefully rolls your socks off, sliding his calloused hands down your calves to your ankle. The way his entire hand covers your calves almost feels like a caress.
After he’s done with the second foot, he goes silent.
You think he’s going to get up and leave.
Instead, he grabs your left ankle slowly and carefully, like he’s afraid you might wake up.
You feel something against the top of your left foot. You wonder what it is until you feel strands of hair surround it.
It’s his forehead.
What is he doing? Why is he pressing his forehead against your foot? Sure you normally pride yourself in having feet that don’t stink, but still it mortifies you that he would do such a thing.
Then you feel it.
A long, warm, shaky breath on your toes.
It’s enough to make your head go blank.
Then you feel another, and another, until his breathing becomes loud and heavy and fills the room.
You hear him rustle, his head and hand still on your feet. You hear a zipper, fabric sliding down, and then a steady, repetitive sound along his gasps and suppressed moans.
It makes your body feel the same way you felt yesterday night. You feel hot, dizzy, and breathless. You don’t know what to quite name this feeling. You haven’t really felt like this your whole life.
It doesn’t last long.
With a low, quiet moan, Caleb goes silent.
After a few seconds you hear the rustling of his clothes and a zip going up again. He leaves the room in such a hurry that after he shuts the door, silence engulfs the room and you wonder if he really was in here at all.
Whether that really did just happen or you were imagining things.
Suddenly you feel very tired. You really don’t want to think about it now.
You decide to welcome the alcohol-induced sleep and fall into slumber.
The you of tomorrow will handle whatever this... was.
Wanted to post this on ao3 but apparently I have to wait a week to make an account :(

Chapter 1
You’re beaming with excitement as you push your luggage cart through the busy airport halls.
Oh, it’s been so long since you last saw him.
Well, the constant texting and facetiming doesn’t count. It just doesn’t feel the same.
It’s been two years but it feels like it’s been ten.
You can’t help but pick up your pace as you reach the gates, your black sneakers squeaking with each step.
The doors of the gate slide open and your eyes effortlessly lock on straight to a pair of purple ones.
The ones that remind you of amethyst, clear and bright. They light up as they see you, as if the jewel caught sunlight on a warm spring morning.
As you move towards him, he does too, and the background becomes only a blur around his vibrant figure.
“Caleb!”
You shout as you fling yourself into his arms.
You feel his arms wrap around your waist, pulling you into a tight embrace.
He smells just like you remember - a mix of mint and wooden musk - his signature cologne.
As you bury yourself in his shoulder you hear him chuckle. A large hand comes up to caress back of your head.
“Pipsqueak.” He greets you endearingly. “You seem overly energetic for someone who flew over here 4 in the morning.”
You look up to meet his warm gaze. His lips are upturned into a smirk.
“You know how I get on planes. I slept like a baby-”
As you talk you notice his features for the first time. You note that he’s different from the last time you saw him. His face is a bit sharper. His skin is a bit darker… but more importantly he’s overall just… bigger. Way bigger.
“Woah, Caleb.” You can’t help but step back and stare at him up and down. “Been hitting the gym?”
He seems amused at your blatant gawking. He takes a step back, as if to give you a better view.
“Like what you see?”
For some reason, you’re annoyed by his confidence.
“I mean, isn’t your shirt just a bit too tight?”
“I feel harassed by that statement.”
“Your boobs are bigger than mine.”
“And you won’t just stop, won’t you?”
He locks you in a head lock and ruffles your hair forcefully.
“Hey!” You push his playful arms away, which turn into a tangle of arms and hands fighting for dominance.
“Okay, okay. My bad.” Caleb says. His large hands grab both of yours. His hands are hot and brittle with calluses. He’s grinning from ear to ear. “Come on, let’s go. The car’s this way.”
He grabs the cart and pushes it forward. You follow beside him, tailing and chatting like a toddler chasing a parent.
On the way home, the two of you talk about everything and anything.
Catch up, about mom and dad, about Berk university, about Caleb’s apartment which will be your new home, about upcoming NBA matches…
You open the window and feel the breeze through your long chestnut hair, as Caleb’s favorite rockband plays in the background, a must-play for any roadtrip.
You feel a deep sense of fullness. You realize more than ever - Caleb is your other half and there’s no denying it.
“I feel like I’m finally home.” You say, as the car slows down as it enters the parking lot.
You lean your head back and look at Caleb. He smiles refreshingly and nods. He knows exactly what you mean.
“Me too, pipsqueak. Me too.”
After parking the car, the two of you head up to the sixth floor of the apartment complex, pulling heavy luggage on both hands.
You rest on one of the big luggage bags as you ride the elevator up. You push on the seams that are about to burst open. Must’ve squeezed in too many clothes.
You raise your head only to meet Caleb’s eyes.
“…What?”
You raise an eyebrow at his gaze.
“…Nothing.”
He turns his head and clears his throat.
Suddenly you turn self conscious.
Why was he staring?
“Did I gain weight?”
“What? No.”
Caleb denies it like you said something crazy.
“Do I stink? I’ve had a long day.”
“No. You don’t stink.”
Caleb chuckles as the elevator door dings open.
“Do my clothes look too hobo?”
You tail behind him through the hallway.
“Pipsqueak. They look fine.” He shakes his head as he unlocks the door to his apartment. “They suit you, even.”
He pulls the luggage inside and holds the door for you to enter.
“Come on.”
You decide to let it go. You glance at him for a second before you pass him into the apartment.
It’s more spacious than you imagined.
A black sofa rests against the wall in the living room, coupled with a large TV. On the right side is the kitchen and dining area. On the left side there are three doors, two which turn out to be a bedroom and the other a shared bathroom.
“Nice place, Caleb! Didn’t know you had an eye for interior design?”
You express your awe as you explore the place. Everything is cut clean and modern, just like Caleb’s meticulous personality.
It almost seems too clean, and a little less homey.
“Well, I did put in a lot of effort knowing you’d live here one day, too.”
“Is this your room?”
You point to a bedroom that seems occupied. There’s a navy blue queen bed in the center of the room. A laptop rests on top of an otherwise clear, glass desk. A clothes rack hangs his favorite jacket from highschool and a simple baseball cap.
Talk about minimal.
“Yeah.” Caleb pushes your luggage into the room directly next to his. “And this is yours.”
You follow him to your room which is almost identical to his, except for the fact that your sheets are baby blue. Your favorite color.
“Do you want to unpack now? Or do you wanna have dinner first?”
You look back at him leaning by the doorframe.
“I cooked your favorite.” He smiles warmly.
“Caleb’s special mac and cheese?” You ask excitedly.
“Yes-“
Before he can finish, you fling yourself at him once more.
“You’re the best!”
You exclaim as you sense his body stiffen in surprise. You also sense it relax and melt into your hug.
Just as his hands find their way onto your back, you pull back and turn around to open your luggage.
“Can I shower first, then eat? I feel kinda gross.”
You ask as you begin to rummage through your clothes.
“Sure.” Caleb stands still and watches you for a brief moment, before heading to the kitchen. “…Take your time.”

After dinner, dishes, and a whole lot of unpacking, you finally get the chance to wind down on the living room sofa.
A random netflix show is playing on the TV, but neither of you are really watching.
“So, did you check what time orientation starts tomorrow?” Caleb asks as you plop down beside him on the sofa.
“Yeah. Three in the afternoon.”
You adjust your posture to lay your head in his lap. You reply to piled up messages on your phone while facing the TV.
Instead of complaining, he hums and starts playing with your hair.
“I’ll drive you to campus.”
He says, his voice a bit quieter.
“That’d be great. What are your plans for tomorrow?”
“I’ve got basketball practice tomorrow afternoon. But besides that, not much.” He gently brushes loose strands of hair on your face and tucks it behind your ear.
“How about we go early to campus tomorrow and I’ll show you around? We can have lunch too.”
He offers. He’s stroking through your hair now. His fingers lightly brush the sides of your neck.
“Sounds good.”
You answer half-heartedly. Wait, what did he just say? You’re too distracted texting, and you’re terrible at multitasking.
“Hey.” Caleb pinches your ear. “Did you hear what I just said?”
“Huh?”
Annoyed at the fact that you’re still distracted, Caleb leans forward and snatches your phone.
“Hey!”
You try to snatch it back but fail miserably. He holds both of your hands in a tight grip while he uses his other free hand to look at your phone.
“Hmm.” He says in amusement. “You still talk to Lucas?”
You slide your hands out of his loosened grip and answer.
“I mean, we’ve been in the same friend group since 9th grade.”
“Yeah but didn’t you guys drift apart?”
Well, yeah. You had tried to keep a distance from him ever since he confessed to you at the end of 11th grade. But you didn’t tell Caleb that.
“How did you know that?”
You ask him while warily eyeing his hand movements. It looks as if he’s about to-
“Caleb!”
You plunge yourself onto him as he attempts to message something to Lucas.
You don’t know what he’s typing but knowing Caleb, it’s gotta be something embarrassing or at least something worth a hundred apologies to Lucas.
He stretches his torso and raises his hand out of your reach. As a result both of you topple over on the couch. You flop over him and try to wrench the phone out of his hands. However the difference in size and strength is too big for it to be a real fight.
He ends up buckling you tight to his side with one arm wrapping around your waist, while the other hand holds your phone up like a trophy. You don’t like his villainous grin as he adjusts his grip to make it easier for him to type with his one hand.
You attempt to reach at it again with your free arm. But your lunge misses and you end up plopping on top of his torso, with his arm still around your waist.
A small grunt escapes his mouth as you plop onto him. Must’ve kinda hurt. But that’s what he gets for being an asshole.
Just as you grip the side of the sofa to get off of him, you stop as you feel his breath on your ear.
His breathing sounds… labored.
Surely, you’re not that heavy, right? You’re about to complain when you suddenly become aware of something pressing against your thigh.
Something hard. and long.
Isn’t he wearing sweatpants?
Surely it’s not what you think it is.
You impulsively graze your thigh against it, as if doing so will tell you what it really is.
A slight groan escapes Caleb’s mouth.
Heat rapidly pools in your lower stomach.
You rapidly scurry off of him and sit at an empty spot on the couch.
You don’t know what feels hotter. Your body or your face.
You stare at a random place on the wall as you watch from the corner of your eye Caleb slowly sitting up and fixing his disheveled hair and clothes.
You can’t help but sneak a peak.
Your insides jump as you immediately lock eyes with his. His that are a bit calmer, and a bit darker than usual.
He holds your gaze, but you don’t really want to understand the meaning behind it.
You bolt up from the couch and tell him casually.
“Well, that was fun.” You laugh awkwardly. “I’m a bit tired from the travelling, so I think I’m gonna call it a day.”
You avoid the gaze that follows your restless movements while you make up an excuse.
“You should sleep early too, Caleb. Good night.”
Before he can respond, you hurry to your room and shut the door behind you.
You lean on the door and slide down helplessly, all strength leaving your body, leaving it feeling like jello.
You clench at your heart that seems to be racing at 180m/h.
You’re at a lost for words.
Did that really just happen? With Caleb? of all people? your step-brother?
You can still feel it pressing against your thigh.
