ever since she was a child, marie has wanted to be just like her mother. she used to be glued to her side for most of her younger years, imitating her behaviors and hanging on to every single word she ever said. as she got older and her mother started doing more of her own thing and leaving marie and siblings to fend for themselves more, she felt lost, but she always kept a brave face on, doing as she thought her mother would. every single thing she does is because she wants her mother’s approval or attention.
she used to be closer to her brothers, and for the most part she still is with toulouse. toulouse basically filled in the spot her father had, not that she even remembered him. she doesn’t even know really if he was around when she was born. her relationship with berli went down the gutter the moment he started shutting them all out (but that is the evermore issues). she still tries to this day to get him to open up, go to therapy, and things like that but he always rejects her.
her mother did give her vocal lessons growing up, but marie had never been the best at singing. her first real talent was ballet. she remembers the day her mother let her sign up; she felt like she had found her passion. ballet was everything to her for a long time but once her family stopped coming to recitals and the pressure of being perfect started to get to her, she stopped doing it. she got her first modeling job not super long after and she hasn’t danced much since. she only every really puts on her ballet shoes when she needs to get rid of some pent up feelings.
marie has always been about luxury and living that kind of lifestyle. she always wore designer clothes and was interested in fashion. she had a countdown on her calendar for fashion week every single year and being able to fly to nyc and spend a few weeks to a month in the city was her faovrite thing to do. paris was her home and her number one, but nyc was her second home.
she didn’t start modeling until she was about thirteen. she knows that was a dangerously young age to get into the industry, but she had the look and she had the connections. the industry is cruel and it consumed marie. she was failing school because of it, which did not go well by her mother and she was constantly under extreme pressure to not be left behind. as far as marie was concerned she was grown already even though she was very much still a child. as she went through puberty and all of that, there was more pressure on her appearance than ever and she ended up developing an eating disorder. she would never admit it, but the twoish years she had before evermore with her modeling career were probably the worse her mental health had ever been in. not that she let anyone in her family know about it. ever.
she was fifteen when she woke up in evermore with her family and it was a lot. she hated being stuck more than anything but what made it worse was that her family was basically falling apart. berli was going through so much and her mother was more worried about getting herself established in evermore, so toulouse and marie were picking up the pieces as things progressed. she managed to graduate high school at least now that she wasn’t modeling as much and her health improved slightly despite battling her ed on and off without anyone knowing.
the only thing that helps her get by in evermore are her friends. she luckily is able to make them easy, despite her snooty and uptight exterior. she can’t stand the fact that she grew into adulthood in evermore and wasn’t able to party and be a wild child in the heart of nyc like she used to dream about, but it was what it was. she tries her best to make the most of the party scene here, but she really won’t do much beyond drinking. she had tried coke once and decided never again. she is very big fan of champagne though.
her social media following started before evermore and blew up right before she ended up there. for a good amount of years she was able to bullshit her way into keeping a mass following, but she knows the people are getting bored. she keeps up with all of the trends and updates her accounts multiple times a day, but she knows she needs to start doing more.
when it comes to her personal style, designer brands are easily her favorite and almost all she wears. when it comes to styling her clothes she takes inspiration from both parisian influences and nyc influences. she likes to alternate, but she will always look like she is dressed to the tens. even if she isn’t wearing any pink she always makes sure to accent her outfit with it, because pink is her signature color. rose gold, even. makeup wise she always has her signature red lips and her nails are always looking freshly done. her biggest fear is coming off as a nine or below.
what is her biggest weakness? purses/handbags/clutches. her collection is so large she needed an entire closet dedicated to her designer bags. she is an impulse shopper to her core and nothing cheers her up more than a new handbag or clutch. she already has a large vanity and closet but when she falls out of love with clothes she tends to donate them or give them to her friends. she cleans her closest out every three months.
she honestly has no idea what she is doing most of the time. she is trying to figure out her purpose, aside from being cute and rich. part of her wants to apply for college and maybe have her elle woods era (she is a big fan) but she is constantly wondering if she is smart enough to go back to school. she has always lived her life as being someone else’s muse....but she wonders if she can be her own muse?
a random fact but she is an awful swimmer. in fact, she can barely swim. during the summer you will see her lounging by the pool in a designer bikini but you will never ever see her actually get into the water.
her track record with relationships is....fairly awful. her daddy issues seem to always come out when she is going after guys and she’s only ever almost dated a girl once. she is still figuring out her sexuality and what it means to her. she knows she is attracted to pretty people and she leaves it at that. after a few failed relationships though she is just trying to focus on herself and stay single. of course she wants a grand romance; who wouldn’t? she just knows that she has her life ahead of her and when it is meant to happen, it will.
marie cannot keep a secret to save her life. once she gets talking things just kinda start to slip out. she is a rather honest person, too honest on most days even. as much as she tries to fabricate that her life is going great she really does try to keep it as authentic as she can without concerning others.
she is fluent in french, obviously, since she grew up in paris. for the sake of not explaining herself she normally keeps the french with speaking to her family but when she is really upset or really moved by something, it will slip out without her even realizing it.
at this point the only way marie is going to start talking about her issues is if her entire family can agree to group therapy. she is too nervous to try and go alone, and she thinks the bonfamille’s can afford a session or ten. doing it together feels like the best way to do it. she is constantly trying to bring it up, but it normally falls on deaf ears.
she will be the first one to talk shit about her family but if anyone else talks shit about her family she is the first to throw a punch. her brothers taught her how to fight and because she is a lady, she seldom uses those skills. that does not mean she won’t defend her family with everything she has.
she has herself a white persian kitten named genevieve. she named her that because she has always been in love with the name and had wished that was her name when she was a kid. silly, but she still thinks it is so beautiful.
this girl is a libra if there ever was one. a libra sun, libra moon, and a leo rising. very dramatic, very determined to live a rich life. cannot make a single choice to save her life. full of herself despite being incredibly insecure.
