“There are things in the world that are much scarier than the thought of walking alone through your life. There is the thought of the world you know stopping because the beating in your chest has halted. The undying fear of not being “enough” which is something so many people seem to be afraid of. Yes the thought of not once having someone to love, to care for, and to share your life with, is quite scary. Not everyone gets the first pick, and by the time they go to grab a number, the roll is empty. But there are people who get the number, maybe they didn’t get the first pick but it doesn’t change how they feel as if they had. With much feeling, I am one of those people, the one who eagerly waited to finally get a number that didn’t make my heart shrivel up. I vowed to myself, when I finally got the number that is your heart, that I’d give you my life. I cannot promise to be perfect, in fact no one can. I cannot promise that I will always have the words to make your heart feel lighter. The things I can promise, is that I will not only be with you when the days are amazingly bright, but I will also be there when it seems nothing can get any darker.
