βPink is your favorite color huh?β
βIβm guessing your favorite color is pink!β
βWoah..pink is your favorite color I guessβ
People love to point out that I wear a lot of pink in my daily looks. People who have only barely just seen and experienced my existence, people who work with me and see me daily love to point this out. I donβt see that they are so well intentioned about it so I just say yes and move along. Sometimes itβs a micro aggression. Sometimes I can tell theyβre just bored and trying to make small talk.
The sky is blue nearly everyday on clear days..yet do we pause and speak to the sky and say hey! You must really love blue! Yes I know not the most direct example but the point is, you see how you let the sky be blue, you accept it, itβs color is soothing, let me be too!
I mean, I donβt feel the need to comment on someone who only wears loose clothing or only wears black. Do you boo! Iβd rather engage in a conversation about concepts, world events, social issues, community events, dreams (literally whatever did you dream of last night??) and feelings..
Honestly, Iβm bored with their pink callouts as much as they might be annoyed or weirded out by my love of pink. What happened to appreciating people for their signature look or hobbies?
And this is why I love the trending collective appreciation for whimsy. We need softness and lightheartedness more than ever these days. Pink is that color for this intention. Itβs a lifestyle as much as it is a design language.
Also some people use fashion very intentionally and as an equal parts manifestation tool.
Maybe some people just slap on things they like with a basic intention like βfancyβ or βworkβ outfit. Maybe some people overthink their outfit and consider what others might think to the point of self limitation and in a way self sabotage.
Personally Iβve allowed myself the liberation of loving what I love. Iβve allowed myself the creative development of learning to see my body as is and celebrating it through specific silhouettes. Iβve allowed myself to dream and follow those dreams by dressing for the roles I was born to embody.
And yet all of it is still very intuitive!
I probably look like I think so hard about my daily outfits but girlβ¦ I donβt. I feel them. I only gather pieces that I love and will enjoy styling, sometimes theyβre on trend sometimes theyβre so not. And what I find no longer speaks to my essences, I let go with love and resell to someone who will find more joy in resonating with them and styling them.
Loving the process of intuitive and emotionally charged dressing..
I hope you enjoy my digital lookbook/concept book as much as I do. Stay true darlings!!
