I created this image using an application on my Ipad called "Paper". Using a stylus pen I draw up one of the images for my Pecha Kucha presentation. This image was about how without emotion our creative flow would become obsolete therefore creative innovation (such as innovation in technology) would become redundant.
The first at home experiment I did at home after the first couple of classes. This was when I was thinking of documenting the marks outside my bedroom window. Two of the most prevalent marks were the autumn leaves scattered in my driveway and on the main road opposite my house. I combined the two ideas to create this image - I attempted to make a stencil of a car in one of the leaves.
REPOST of one of my potential pages for the mark making assessment. This was three photos taken to explore the repetition of marks on the walls of the squash court. I have taken each photos from a further away distance to properly illustrate the effects of the marks on the walls.
Repost of one of my earlier images when I was doing my mark making assessment. I have chosen this as one of my 10 images because it captures the essence of me at work. It is one of my most creative endeavors throughout this class as I never would've thought to document this particular element of the squash court in such an unusual way.

Made a gif of my pattern design process! Although I don't have photoshop I found a way around it in terms of making my images into a gif. This gif is made to demonstrate my experimental process. First I drew a simple patter, pencil on paper, then took a photo of it and edited it on my computer. I cropped the image and pasted it several times to create repetition. I then edited the colouring for more pop arty effect.
Edited my facourite page from my first assessment "mark making". It was a collage of photos of human movement during a game of squash with my quick freehand drawings of movement over the top. I edited the contrast and saturation to create an almost surreal image which looks a bit like a whole load of ghost like figures jumping and prancing around.
ALSO as I was flicking food colour onto the serviette it landed on other serviettes and I chopped them up and stuck them on paper... Interesting I guess!?
END RESULT! I ended up putting a wet, colourful serviette (damp with food colouring and water) onto a piece of paper and this is the result. Lighter colours more pastely tones. Fun experimentation :)
Last weekend I was sitting on my floor drawing and about to watercolour paint it then my shitty cat knocked over my water pot and muddled up my paints and got the carpet wet etc etc documented in the first photo THEN i got inspired and thought hmmm water... paint... colour running... dye... food dye?? paper... tissues... serviettes... yeah yadda yadda thought process and ideas were actualized as seen in the following images where i let foodcolour + water run onto a serviette very colourful

experimenting with repetition and editing on the computer (something I never do) loving the results! First I did the old pencil to paper and drew up a little pattern. I cropped it on the computer and copied and pasted the image a couple of times to form a square of the same pattern. The I made the squares smaller and more of them and changed the contrast, saturation and colouring.
Drew and painted whatever using pencil and watercolours. I took a picture of it then put it on my computer and played around with editing on the eally love the end result. Just a simple click of changing the contrast and clicking "negative" and the image is so much more interesting.
Antoni Tàpies - La substance et les accidents
Came home from class today and started doodling in my note pad and kinda realised I was actually really inspired by the sporadic and "accidental" nature of Tapies work so I sat down and let my self go on the paper and came up with a load of shit but its so different to what I'm used to doodlining so it was refreshing to try something different/new in the comfort of my own space and not at cofa.
so I drew a little bit first then added water colours wherever, I had no particular method I was just adding colour anywhere and everywhere.
but the colours I used were kinda super dull and the picture didn't really convey excitement and playful experimentation so I edited the contrast/brightness/saturation and all that other stuff to get the image to look more vibrant
This series of drawings is drawn with my opposite drawing hand. I've chosen this because I like the simplicity and character. Drawing with my opposite hand as part of learning to fail was both enlightening and challenging.
FAILURE
Today we are learning to be successful with mistakes and setting ourselves up to fail... I've brain stormed a bit and have decided I want to attempt a bit of portraiture with my opposite drawing hand. I draw portraits all the time with the left hand and often fret for ages about getting the shading/proportions correct. So today I took a different approach and a drew a few portraits with my RIGHT hand and to be honest, I quite liked how the proportions and shading were completely off but it was fun to draw knowing that its gonna turn out shit anyway. Even though the end results were all wrong in terms of "photo realism" or whatever you call it when the drawing looks like the picture, the failure was actually a success in that I learned to be more free with my style of drawing
