"are you sure you're a man? Maybe you're just a tomboy... Or maybe just nonbinary?"

"But you were so feminine as a kid, and you sometimes wear skirts and makeup without being forced to though. Are you sure it's your gender you're uncomfortable about?"

"But, this trans guy I know said he knew since he was a baby. You only started to feel this way a few years ago. Are you sure you're not just influenced by social media?"

Yes. I'm sure. I'm a man. A genderqueer man. A man who sometimes plays dress up. An effeminate man, sure, I'll give you that. A man who has worn fem clothes to convince himself he isn't a man. A man who genuinely feels like ripping his face off when he looks in the mirror. A man who's tired. A man who's angry. Let me be the man I am.

No one questioned anything when I said I liked women. Nobody asked me hundreds of questions to make sure I knew what it all meant. No one made me justify myself.
