Hello all! 👋🏾 Call me Kyu (pronounced 'Q'). 🌸 I am a creative writer & novice animator in my mid 20s. My biggest dream is to bring my stories to life via animation, whether they are original or fan-made. I made this account hoping to make friends with artists & writers of many genres & formats! 🤗
And if it means anything, I'm a big fan of BTS, kdramas and too many anime series to name (The Apothecary Diaries, My Hero Academia, Demon Slayer, and Dandadan being my current faves lol). I've also studied Korean on & off for like six years, and trying to get back to it to it! 💪🏾😤

every once in a while i will feel a great pressure to exist, but then i just have to sit back and relax and remind myself 'oh wait, you already exist without even trying. GOOD JOB.' i think this realization can be a huge relief
Reminder to self: A file folder of outlines and character notes and half-written scenes is the equivalent of an artist’s sketchbook and holds just as much value to the creative process.
If a framed canvas isn’t the only worthwhile expression of visual art, then a fully edited and polished piece of significant length is not the only worthwhile expression of writing.
I only have 3.5 lines left to write before I'm done writing the OP for season 3 of 'Eyes of the Beholder'. My own lyrics comforted me as the waves of grief took me up & down upon losing my mom. And now it's called "Waves". 🌊

I actually got my grandma hooked on The Apothecary Diaries! 😂😂😭 We just finished watching both seasons a few days ago, and now we're watching the 1st episode over again lol.
If you ever find yourself thinking "oh, I can't write this Cool But Impractical thing into my story, it's just not realistic", here are a few perfectly realistic reasons why people and even whole cultures would rather do something in an impractical way rather than the sensible one:
weird flex
religious reasons
religious weird flex (someone decided that they are So Religious that they consider the practical method Sinful, and people got competitive about it)
tax reasons (some ruler put a tax on doing something the sensible way and people started doing the impractical alternative as a legal loophole)
someone wildly powerful and popular preferred doing it that way, and everyone adapted to it in order to look cool
someone wildly unpopular suggested doing the practical thing, and everyone went out of their way to avoid doing that in order to not look uncool
it just genuinely never occurred to them that there is a better alternative, and their current method has been honed to perfection/adapted to the infrastructure so deeply that at this point altering it wouldn't be sensible
I'm reading like three books at the same time right now btw (and lowkey might add a fourth lol). I've never read this many books at once and idk what's causing the sudden interest, but I'm enjoying myself! I'm currently reading:
'Me (Moth)' by Amber McBride - thought it'd be a good book to read as it's about grief, depression, and feeling lost (all three things I'm dealing with) + it's by my favorite author
'The Jesus Mysteries' by Timothy Freke & Peter Gandy - the 2nd book I've begun reading as a part of my deconstruction journey. So far, it's helped me realized I'm probably more so a Gnostic Christian these days, but the more I learn, the more uncertain I feel on what to believe altogether lol :')
'The Apothecary Diaries' light novel 5 by Natsu Hyuuga - I just finished rewatching the two seasons of the anime today and just couldn't help it! Four more months til season 3 comes out! 😩

1st writing update in a while: I've finally fully outlined EOTB ep 1! 🎉 All it took was really figuring out what Nakato's life consists of when she's "awake". Seems so simple now, but I had to really focus on the point of her "curse" to begin with. Now, I just have to figure out how things proceed in the Vintage kingdom.
Also, thinking of making EOTB into a light novel 1st. Between 'The Apothecary Diaries' and 'Young Apostles' by Anna Miriam Brown, I really think that format of writing is right up my alley if I were to ever tell a story outside of animation as planned.
um so quick question you do know that the world isn’t divided into People Blindly Accepting Of Gender Roles and Smart Trans Ppl. the world isn’t divided into People In Romantic Relationships and Single Aros. the world isn’t divided into People Who Socialize Easily and Oppressed Autistics. the world isn’t divided into Enlightened Queer People and Stupid Misogynists. like you are aware of this ? i hope you are aware of this
the thing about being "good with kids" is all it takes is literally just not trying to control and mould them with every interaction. it's just being a normal person and engaging with them through normal interactions like having conversations and playing games. it's just being genuine and friendly and not perceiving them as lumps of wet clay you are there to shape. "oh you're so good with kids" thanks it's because I think they are people

After a quiet fight with stage 4 colorectal cancer (as well as ESRD and other disabilities), my mother passed away yesterday (Monday). The waves of grief hit me differently every day. I'm okay one second, cracking up the next, and crying after that. I'm happy that's she's free and felt like she's sent me signs that she is, but I hate that she's gone and feel overwhelmed by all the changes.
I'm gonna be okay.... I just hate that that this process has only just begun. I wish it was over already.
