The Golden Hour

Emmy: Kyson. I feel like you don't really know the definition of the word DYING if you're asking that!

Emmy: I've seen my schedule for tomorrow and I'm already dying.

Ken: So does that mean I get what I want?

Ken: But seeing you would be so much cuter.

Emmy: Oooooo, your treat? Really?? This is new.

McCartney: Ooooooohhh.. what're my options?! Is it limitless?

Ken: I'm not all that hungry but I'll join you where you go.

“Can’t say I’m surprised.” Gemma laughed. “I do think those pyjamas would’ve been much more comfortable. I did see someone in a onesie, and I have to be honest, that does sound quite appealing at this point.”

“Well I’m sure that you’d be much warmer in a onesie, but I for one am appreciating what you have on now. So know that the pain is worth it.”

“Uhm, well I can see why it’s not exactly an ice-breaker conversation that you’d want to start out with.” Emmy tried to make it sound light hearted as she furrowed a brow at him. “So like – what did you do exactly?”

“Yeah it tends to be a little bit of a turn off.” Kyson chuckled. “You know.. made a few phone calls, signed a few papers. Nothing earth shattering, I wasn’t running it by any means, but nothing good.”

“I don’t know,” she gave a shrug. “I think a planned event has its time or place. What is it that you don’t like?”

“I just am not much of a planned game or a theme type guy. I love a party but more of a casual thing you know? Themes remind me of college.”

“I know it is. But hey, I guess a party like this would have much lower attendance if we were all expected to wear the pyjama’s we’d wear back then.”

“Oh absolutely. I think some people would have gotten so into it but overall everyone would have been annoyed. I like this attire much more.”

“To be fair, I didn’t expect lingerie and alcohol at a primary school sleepover kind of vibe, but I couldn’t imagine a game like this at one of those either.”

“Mm you know what that’s a good point? I hadn’t exactly thought of that but you are obviously correct.” 

“Seriously? You just hang around and talk to people at these things? Do you really expect me to believe that?” Liz questioned immediately. She definitely wasn’t buying what Kyson was saying. “Come on now – I know for a fact that you have a little party animal in ya. There’s no way you won’t be getting loose tonight.”

Kyson laughed. “I guess not. I’m just saying I’m more of a club or friends party type of guy. These put on get togethers feel strange to me. But youre right. I’m sure I actually will, just need some more liquor in the system and maybe a less cringey game.”

“That’s all? I thought that was a game in college, not slumber parties. Once again American media has betrayed me tonight.”

“Well you’re right. I just think this slumber party has a bit more of a college party twist on it.” 

“You what?” Emmy’s face fell for a second, trying to figure out if he were kidding or not before she realized. “You – what? Seriously? I had no idea.” 

Kyson smirked at her reaction. He should really tell people more often, the reactions never get old. “Yeah well it’s not usually my go to when I tell people about myself is it?” He chuckled and took a sip of his beer. “Got wrapped up in some white collar thing straight out of college. Nothing big -well as far as I was concerned- but still illegal apparently.” 

“I would like it a lot. But so would other women.” She rose her brow. “Oh hot, huh? Well do it and you can see how hot I can be.”

“I’m failing to see how that’s a problem.” Kyson raised an eyebrow and looked around. “I’ll take it up with my boss, see what I can do for you.”
