Hi Yuka! I was just curious but what would you describe your favorite kind of tops? I kinda see a pattern for some of your favorite tops but sometimes I am like hmmm (also do you still like some of your ships reverse because I do know your current ships you became allergic to the reverse are there still ships you honestly don't mind at all)

From observation they seem to all be pretty boys/bishounen who have an undertone of Very Boyish/Manly (in the 男前 sense). I really love this gap moe, it's my favorite thing. I love when They appear "beautiful" but are actually all rabid dogs/wolves inside. I also like when they're mildly toxic lol (help)

I know it's a popular preference to designate the "troubled, traumatized and depressed" character as the 受け/bottom because they're deserving of love, but to me the 萌え/appeal of this kind of character is that they allow themselves to be vulnerable so that THEY can love and be healed by the love of another. It tugs at my heart when they hate the other or feel resentment, bc they're in denial that the one that can help them is the very person they're reluctant to accept anything from and seeing them struggle to navigate the relationship is endearing.
cuz then you get those tsundere moe moments or even possessiveness where they go "I know them the best/you don't know them like I do" I think I generally just love the trope of char A being super bitter/salty being saved by char B and learning how to love char B "right" bfhfjd like ofc it depends on nuance as well but I'm just having these BL thoughts while trying to sleep-
Tldr I rly like the trope of the troubled top who hates their bttm but is forced to face that the bttm heals them. So they learn to navigate their toxicity to love their bttm "right" & give them love even if it's utterly clumsy. They may hurt them, but they're trying and learning

I have two types of coffee I like:

In terms of ships that I don't mind reverse of...
Honestly it's a spectrum, I have a varying degree of tolerance for each ship I like...
On my profcard I have written "Even though I have a preference for top/bottom, I am okay with seeing the reverse lane if it fits with my personal interpretation. Saying this though, I definitely cannot see Goro Akechi as anything other than a top. I avoid content that depicts him as submissive, I'm really sorry it's just not my taste."
Which is the honest truth.
The thing is, after I've had my taste testing from the two buffets (which can take up to a couple months to a whole year of fence sitting and even 10s of thousands of yen buying doujin of reverse lane) I end up becoming a 左固定 "Fixed Top" shipper for some of them... solely as you have described, I become "allergic".
I've done this with almost all my main ships, such as ニキ燐/nikirin (ensemble stars) and カヴェアル/kavetham (genshin) of which I own at least 30k yen worth of reverse lane doujin.) For akeshu specifically, I only had to dip my toes into fandom and read fics for me to fall down to my knees and cry a little because the キャラ崩壊 (OOC) is too much for me... (based on my own interpretation)

I'm a turtle+frog mixture until proven otherwise, to which I end up becoming a slug... but I cannot relate to or see snake fujo actually... My tops can only top, but my bottoms can be top, bottom, left, right, upside down or upright and I'd eat them.
For specifically ships I can do reversible:
Only seek out when I feel like it but don't like to be jump scared by:
Haikaveh (I still buy doujin and look at fanart only from select artists)
Rinniki (same as above)
Don't mind seeing on TL at all:
Ratiorine (tbh I'm Avenpaz but yeah idm seeing this bc I don't have strong feelings)

All ships in Detective Conan (all my fav ships are hetero LOL)
I think generally the ships I don't feel too "strongly" about I'm able to eat all the content because I don't have too clear an idea of my own interpretation so I enjoy everyone else's interpretation if this makes sense.
Anyway if you read all this thank you for reading and I totally get if it makes absolutely no sense.

Update: Btw I don't primarily think of my ships as sexual, so honestly all of this is based on Vibe and Heart. I genuinely think of it as who is the "initiator" and who is the "receiver"

Going on a tangent on the last reblog but don't wanna take over someone else's post: I really enjoy Goro being boring tbh, him eating because he has to, not having any favorite shows, him scrolling social media like a boring teenager (him having reddit is really funny on this part). He likes eating snacks while he works.
He reads classics because they make him sound smart, he exercises to keep fit, he listens to jazz because it calms him down but he doesn't dislike any particular music either, he watches the news and reads about the latest gossip for smalltalk, keeps an eye on sports for the same reason, goes to cafés to have something to post about, enjoys all sorts of games from board games to card games to arcade games to bets and competitions, puzzle games, possibly video games if it weren't that they don't fit with his public image and he doesn't have time for it either. He doodles in class or when he does crosswords but tries to keep them neutral when in public, might've been even more artistic as a kid (graffiti artist akechi lives in my heart) but doesn't have time for that now.
He finds excitement in discovering new places and learning new things, makes time for that because it's also a productive use of time (cultivating his image + general curiosity). He may be a fake detective who hates the system but he's still interested in how it works and likes cracking real cases. Likes helping people casually, mostly elderly and animals but is nice to kids too (if in a bad mood and without consequences he might tell them to scram if they bother him lmao). He dabbles in makeup and hair care because his agents want him to, they mostly do it for him but he doesn't mind doing it himself. They give him good recommendations and he does ads on the side. He likes good colognes and vintage clothes but doesn't mind hoodies either.
Idk smth about how mundane and boring it sounds compels me, that he does and becomes good at all sorts of hobbies, that most things come back to his image, and he may hate that he *has* to do it but I don't think he hates the activities themselves, there's something really special to me that hes a boring kid in contrast to everything that makes him different and special. He's still figuring things out!! Also it's hard to find a passion when destroying his father is on his mind rent free lmao
