I read a kyoru fanfic titled "Precious little moments in time" by onigiricat4ever yesterday, and the latest chapter was where Tohru gave Kyo a cap. I was curious on how he would look like wearing one, so I drew him.

Tohru is beside him but she's too rough to show here so I cropped her out, sorry Tohru hunny.

I’m not through Fruits Baskets yet (slowly doling out season 3 to myself like little treats) but the dichotomy between Akito’s belief that she is owed the zodiacs’ love and devotion, that they are hers and hers alone, and Tohru’s unwavering and unconditional love and support for every member of the Zodiac she’s met is fascinating.

Akito is set up to fail, between being told she was born to be loved and the abuses her mother committed. She doesn’t have the tools to create natural and reciprocal bonds with anyone. But Tohru, even with all of the losses she’s suffered, has been raised to love and be loved. Her mother poured love and devotion into her, unconditionally, and that gives Tohru the ability to pass that on to the people she meets.

And most of the people she meets reflect that love and devotion back to her. She heals them, because she lets them be themselves and accepts all parts of them.
