consent is really really fucking crucial in every relationship (obvs) but i feel like it gets left behind in relationships where one partner is asexual a large percentage of the time. i mean i feel like there's this assumption that sex is consensual as long as the ace person says “yes” regardless of interpersonal coercion within the relationship. a lot of the time there's this crushing amount of pressure placed on asexual people in relationships to fuck their partners even if they don't want to, bc the idea that in order to keep the relationship going, sex has to be a very huge and important part of it. this kind of shit permeates so so many so called "safe spaces". and fuck, don't even get me started on the fact that a lot of the time the idea that asexuals have to "compromise" almost always comes frm male partners
