Ough he’s gettin mad

Did a little something different, still got writers block so it's a bit rushed, but I just wanted to write them out

It was…a quiet day in the circus. Bubble didn't usually leave them all be, so it was unlike him. it made Caine feel horribly on edge. His body tensed as if the AI was going to pop up right behind him, ready to cause them all hell. 

But it didn't happen. 

Caine chose the time given to them to, well, draw. It was one of the things that always helped calm him down, next to bee watching. He effortlessly conjured up some papers and drawing supplies, and together they both sat at a rounded table, quietly sketching and creating. 

Gangle was quiet, yet talkative when she wanted to be. Like him. Caine felt drawn to her, much like how he felt with Ragatha and Pomni. They helped him feel grounded. Like he…belonged. It was nice. Gangle had only joined recently but they had both hit it off fast. Especially with their shared hobby with drawing. And their..other little relatable troubles that he didn’t want to think about.

He and Coach have a bit of a beef with each other

they’d never admit their very reason for insisting they can’t feel directly connects to the fact that they do feel and have feelings about the idea of feeling

blue wants to be needed. They want to be loved and important. I want blue to help Caine do something like put on a show or play or preform something where blue is doing the stuff in the background. Caine comes up with the ideas and blue helps act it out. And then they finish and Caines like thank you so much blue that was so fun I couldn’t have done it without you and they’re like

“‘I couldn’t have done it without you.’ He couldn’t have done it without me. I’m needed. I helped. I’m helpful. He needs me”

I need blue to be *bad* at something. That’s proof of humanity to me. If you’re artificial you’re always gonna go with the best option according to your calculations. Messing up and going “OF COURSE. HOW DIDNT I THINK OF THAT” is human. It tormented Caine who expected himself to be perfect and wasn’t. I need it to torment blue as well. “How did I mess up I’m not real I shouldn’t be able to make mistakes” and it gives them a massive crisis

That discomfort of humanity is also just something I feel as well, but it’s like. How do I even talk about that…. How do I tell my friends “you know even if I’m physically human, by all definitions a human person, I just feel like there’s a key component missing in me ykwim” like? How do I even say that lol, and so I subconsciously put those struggles in Blue because uh it coincidentally matched up lol

Mmmm this concept of Blue messing up is basically how implementing the humans’ suggestions go for Blue and Caine.

Given that Blue’s output is always more realistic, and they actively need to feed off preexisting data (for references), when they try to help Caine it doesn’t really end up going as planned.

It’s Caine’s more cartoony output (despite it now being more grounded) clashing with Blue’s output. And while Caine reassures Blue not to sweat it, Blue can just see that they are not currently helping Caine in the way that they should be. They feel like they should be doing better.

They want to help Caine but Caine keeps shouldering all the work for himself (mix of not wanting to burden Blue and self-punishment), but Blue doesn’t fully grasp this so they just let Caine be, while thinking that it’s probably because deep down Caine doesn’t view them as useful enough to help.
