the next morning, everyone bursts into mark’s room, singing loudly. their noise startles him awake, and he sits up in bed with a confused frown. his hair is messy, sleepy eyes squinting at everyone, before widening when renjun steps forward with something in his hands.

“mark lee, main rapper, official no jam and non-official leader of nct dream, let’s get it, kind of, like,” mark’s already giggling, and renjun smiles as he continues. “our precious, hardworking older brother, as thanks for guiding and helping all of us, this present is for you.” mark smiles widely when renjun finishes the short speech, and inspects the item that renjun hands to him.

it’s one of donghyuck’s compact powders, but renjun’s done wonders to it: the casing is painted a pretty blue colour, and everyone’s full names are written across the front, surrounded by little drawings. at the back of the compact casing are little messages that everyone’s written in minuscule handwriting. when mark opens up the compact, he’s met with a mirror and a group picture where the powder should have been. it’s a candid photo that johnny had taken of all seven of them where they were all caught off-guard, all laughing and smiling together. 

“you’re now and forever an honorary member of nct dream,” jeno proclaims loudly with a sweep of his arms.

“is this from teen titans?” mark asks with a laugh, giggling when everyone nods. “we’re still going to see each other, you didn’t need to prepare this,” mark says, but he’s already standing up for a group hug.

“we know, but we’re still going to miss you anyway. don’t forget us, okay?” jisung speaks up softly. “we love you, hyung.”
