Bassoon Buffoon

I’ve really been wanting to update my blog into a more art-based blog recently. I’ve been drawing as a hobby for years on years, but for the longest time it’s been something I’ve done passively, and I haven’t really thought that much into the nature of my artstyle and elements of the like. Recently, however, I had a breakthrough with my style and I’m beginning to genuinely care deeply about my artwork again. Keeping most of my older posts up (at least for now), but I’m going to try to use this blog as a means to share my content as well as gauge my progress with it.

That being said, I absolutely adore Mr. Big from Zootopia so take this recent piece I did of him as style practice just so this isn’t all just me rambling.

So like,, I’d been saving up for this Mr. Big pin I found from an eBay seller, and it wad definitely one of the more expensive pins I’ve bought (which for my standards really isn’t that much, it was under 100 dollars). And I didn’t really… question why the thing was so expensive, my tiny collector brain just went ”pretty shrew go brrrr” and was totally content with buying with because it was pretty.

Anyways I read into it out of curiosity (which, for context, this is the Walt Disney Imagineering Adorbs Mr. Big pin), mostly because I didn’t know what Walt Disney Imagineering (WDI) meant, as although I collect Disney pins, I’ve never been to the parks and I do not trade them, but APPARANTLY WDI pins are EXCLUSIVE TO CAST MEMBERS ONLY AND THIS ONE IS AN LE 200. WHICH IS REALLY COOL. I BEAR THE FORBIDDEN BIG.

Anyways, it’s exclusive to Disney Japan, but I managed to find an eBay seller who shipped internationally and honestly all the extra and double shifts I pulled at work were totally worth it to be able to buy it because it’s a gem.

I’m really really happy with the release of a new Jumba, and I think this is a detail only I’d notice, but I’m SO HAPPY they included the little floppy ears. Here’s what he looks like compared to original Jumba. He has a softer color scheme, has the little ears, and is a bit fluffier:

Also, unrelated to the obligatory Jumba stuff that’s to expect of a Jumba collector, but I’m also overjoyed they gave us a tsum tsum of NANI. We’ve never seen one of her until this point and I’m so glad she finally got the recognition because she’s a very important member of the family.

A good while ago, I bought this very beautiful Jumba stuffie off an online seller. I’ve never seen him in anyone’s collection, and I can’t find any information regarding where he was originally sold, if he was from a specific plush collection, etc.

I’m posting about him because I want to know if anyone in the Lilo & Stitch/Disney collectors’ community knows anything about him. The most I know about him is that he was a Japanese release and my best guess was that he was an older plush released at Tokyo Disney resort at some point due to this emblem on his hang tag:

If anyone knows anything about him or knows where I can find anything about him, or has a plush that may have been released with him, please let me know! I love him and he’s a very unique Jumba stuffie but I know close to nothing about his release.

Despite being a pretty hardcore Jumba collector, I actually haven’t posted any about my collection?

Anyways, I have this very beautiful SEGA Jumba stuffie, who’s actually based on Jumba’s traditional outfit in the second season (I believe) theme song in the Stitch! anime!

I actually wanted to post about him just because I was curious if any other L&S/Disney collectors knew anything about him. I’ve gathered from doing a bit of my own reading that he’s from SEGA’s Fun Fan Amuse Prize Collection (as pictured on his hang tag below), which was a collection of officially licensed Disney stuffies, albeit lower quality than something you’d buy at the parks, used as arcade prizes!
