Gentleman for Christ

It’s been awhile since I’ve posted anything relevant on this Tumblr. I’ve uploaded pictures and crap like that. Nothing relevant though. So this is a big deal for me.

I’m scared. I start a new Job this week. I’m scared. I’ve been working for one company for nearly 5 years. I made friends. I met great people. Shoot my dad works there. It’s like 15 minutes from where I live. “Why start a new Job then Guijone?” I’m sure you’re asking. The answer to that is “I can’t wait anymore”. I can’t be a temp anymore. I can’t hope and wish that I’ll be hired someday. I’m getting older and not moving forward. So I’m leaving to start at a new place.

So why am I scared? I’m starting at a new place. No one knows me. I have no identity. I have no safety net. I’m no one. It scares me. Not scared cause I’m no one. Scared cause for the first time i have on one to watch my back. It’s the first time where I’m gonna be responsible for everything that I do. This is the point where I have to give up all these fears I have to God. I’m trusting in him because he gave me this Job. I’m trusting Him cause he gave me an opportunity. 

This is a blessing. Yet I feel like how I felt my first day of Kindergarten. When my dad dropped me off to school for the first time I was so scared of everything around me. Everything was new and unfamiliar. Everything was foreign and scary. I wanted to sit in a corner and just cry and wait for my dad to come get me. I remember him saying “I’m gonna be behind those gates. I’ll be here when school is done”. 

With all this scared feelings and nervousness comes the positive side. It’s a new start. Its a New Day Yes it is! There is a new chance to introduce myself to new people. People can get to know me as “Guijone” and not “Rene’s Son”. 

Guys I’m gonna take the positive road. I’m going to work my hardest and do my best. I guess the point I’m trying to make is

Even though things in this life scares us. The future is unknown. We have to get scared in order to get ready. We have to face the negative head on so we can see the positive in front of us. Its a New Day. Its a New Start.
