so, rewind to just before atsumu stepped into the gym to surprise his boyfriend. the boyfriend who he hasn't seen in two months. the love of his life…

… who has someone else pining after him.

kiyoomi's private enough about his personal life, but he's mentioned his boyfriend from time to time.

'He lives in Osaka.' 'He plays on a professional team.' 'We've been dating for… two years? I guess.'

this guy, a fellow wing spiker on the team, has been crushing on kiyoomi since day 1.

and you know what??? this mysterious boyfriend aint shit. honestly does he even exist?!!!?!

omi never posts about him, omi probably gets out of things by saying that he has to 'spend the weekend' with his boyfriend, and being all the way in osaka???????

omi deserves someone who is in tokyo. on the same campus. not some long distance bullshit.

so wing spiker-chan has asked omi for tutoring. they study together sometimes. he'll see kiyoomi with his other friends and just say hey!!!! :)

and ya know all the time they spend during practice and playing uni vb games.

he's WAYYYYY better at this boyfriend thing already!! just has to show he's PRESENT. and will be there for kiyoomi. he's also like, really good at spiking and they're a killer duo together.

and it doesn't escape his notice that kiyoomi hasn't noticed the boyfriend in a awhile……… maybe they broke up…… oh that would be fantastic.

he could make his move. shoot his shot. serve that ace. omi will be his!!!

and it's like a thursday before a game tomorrow so everyone is focused and spiker-chan WILL ask kiyoomi out for dinner after this.

then invite him back to his place and well… whatever happens from there-

'Is that Miya Atsumu?'

a teammate whispers as kiyoomi is sitting on the bench rn and oh my god that IS miya atsumu. sneaking up behind him. are they friends? since when did those two-

'Atsumu?!'

kiyoomi nearly yelps as atsumu gives him a wet kiss on his cheek, then turns to see that smug smile back at him. kiyoomi takes atsumu by the shirt to capture his lips in a needy, possessive kiss, ignoring everyone else watching.

and also breaks spiker-chan's heart, oops.

'You still gonna ask him out?'

their cheeky setter asks, as if he's really trying to hold back his laugh.

spiker-chan is having a whole mental break while atsumu is seconds from groping kiyoomi's ass.

'Okay you two, either you both get on the court or you leave my spiker alone, Miya.'

their coach broke up the lovebirds and omi was blushing like crazy.

setter-kun is ABSOLUTELYYYY willing to sit out. further torturing spiker-chan when he sees first hand just how much chemistry these two have when atsumu tosses to omi.

omi's friends were obviously very concerned for his well being.

miya atsumu had a bad reputation for a reason.

he was always fighting someone at their school or some other one, he loudly disrespected the teachers, he would extort the first years for their cash, and he stole a car!! and crashed it into a tree!!

there wasn't any proof of that last one, but he never denied it either.

his poor twin would get so many questions that he just started telling people to fuck off by their third year. he wasn't involved in all of that… but he sure knew the entire gang thanks to atsumu.

omi wouldn't ever consider himself friends with atsumu, they did have the same classes for three years straight and every once in a while got stuck on a group project together, but that's as far as their relationship went.

omi's /personal/ opinion is that he had better to worry about than whoever atsumu is getting into a brawl with or.. whatever school they're beefing with.

he's too smart, rich, and pretty to care about petty high school matters when he needed to study to get into a good uni.

things only shifted when omi began dating terushima since they met through motoya and he was nice enough. if not a little pushy, but he was hot and omi was weak for blonds….

he used to go to johzenji but transferred here once his parents moved.

omi was totally clueless about the violent history between teru and atsumu so he just went on about his own business while terushima was being crazyyy smug and annoying about dating omi.

atsumu couldn't do a thing about it either.

like how did terushima even know atsumu was crushing??? he wasnt that obvious.. probably. not like he stalked omi on his way home and kept assholes from trying to mug him or whatever. AND he didnt yap all day about his sweet omi-kun to his friends…..

but atsumu needed one reason. a single chance.

omi accidentally gave him one when they were in the library and terushima thought it was a brilliant idea to pull omi into a quiet corner to try making out with him.

and maybe a little more when his hands were wandering. omi said no and terushima was about to take that as a challenge when atsumu yanked him back by the collar and oops, his ass met the floor.

'He said no, ya bastard.'

omi was more surprised that atsumu knew where the library was in the first place, but i guess he never fails the exams….

'I had it handled, Miya.'

'I'm just doin' it faster with more efficiency, babe.'

omi just rolled his eyes and left, not caring if his boyfriend followed or not.

it was better not to provoke someone as troublesome as atsumu. but that boy wound up in his face everyday after that?? it's enough they had the same class, but why was atsumu going out of his way to sit next to him now??

not like the teachers would say anything, they were too scared of him.

ofc terushima got more annoying too, throwing a jealous fit whenever atsumu looked in omi's direction. blowing up omi's phone. trying more to push omi into sexual shit.

omi got sick of it pretty quick and dumped him a few weeks after the library thing. and ofc atsumu was there to 'console' him… with a stolen pair of car keys.

'Come on, just one more fuck you to that prick.'

that was one joyride omi would never forget in his life.

terushima drove a flashy sportscar that probably cost more than atsumu's entire life, but seeing omi so giggly and happy as they sped down the highway was sooooo worth it.

omi suggested driving it off a cliff and atsumu was SO DOWN.

it was less of a cliff and more like steep incline, but the car got fucked up either way as they watched.

atsumu was such a bad influence… omi kinda wanted to kiss him.

and that's why his friends were questioning him…………

but they shut up real quick when atsumu strolled over to their table, eyes only on omi.

'Wanna go eat on the roof?'

the scandalized gasps when omi said yes and took atsumu's hand.
