畢了 [bì le] i’d interpret it as something closer to “completed,” “finished,” or “brought to its conclusion.”

it’s not a very common everyday expression in modern mandarin i guess and feels somewhat literary. depending on the context, it could refer to a task, duty, promise, process, or even a fate that has finally been fulfilled or concluded. and yeah, you’re right! because of that, as a chapter title, i’d read it more as “completion” or “conclusion” rather than “fulfilling” in the english sense

This is going to be a ‘delete-later post’ because it belongs to a longer post, but @abybweisse you noted the mouth on his stomach as odd, and I didn’t pay much mind to it because we already knew he had mouths and his body is fluid. However, I thought about something now which I don’t know what to make of. Under my “Sebastian’s preferences” retranslations, I was telling you how words that usually translate to “eat” are actually words that usually only mean taking something into the mouth, and there seems to be some distinction between that and “in the stomach”. Such as
