yeah I was saying that the Russian scanlation translates to what the English scanlation says and the official Russian version translates to the what the official English version says, and that’s strange to me because you’d think all four versions would be translating directly from Japanese. I suggested the original could have been like the line that the cult member says, because he doesn’t literally say anything about “loving” ciel in the raws. I’m curious about “past and present intertwine” verses “past and present, passing each other” translations because of this:

I’ve found someone who provided the statue instruction booklet for me! @akailycoris did you mind if I just posted them? I had them in a thread on my server already, at least. The retranslation I’ve been making with people has been unfinished for months out of sheer laziness (and migraines) on my part. Though, it’s also because I wanted the official fonts that the translations use 🧐 I need Undertaker’s creepy-crawly text style. If anybody knows where I can download them, please let me know!

As for the magazine versions, the digital issues can be downloaded on DL-RAW and Bszip, and some of the older ones can still be bought in second-hand Japanese stores or by using a proxy service. I can't afford any of it myself, but I'd be glad to help if you need someone to look it up in Japanese.

As for serialized content, a couple that I’m interested in that immediately come to mind is chapter 35, 36, the akuma 6, 145, and 151.

145 seems to start with “Sebastian and company, arrested” and end with only Sebastian as the one choosing to escape. In my server I talk to myself a lot, so I can look back to see a couple of the specific chapter covers I was curious about and haven’t been able to find yet:

It seems that the official Russian title page translations have been successfully archived on their fandom wikia, so I can occasionally find them through yandex and compare, the above ⬆️ is google’s translation of the Russian version I’m interested in 119 a lot because the Russian scanlation and official translation seems to have the same weird discrepancy between them? (Official translations have the title translated too, scanlations only translate the caption)

I’m suspecting 119 may be using a phrase similar to what that one cultist told Kelvin? If so, it’s another unfortunate parallel for Sebastian, isn’t it? lol

Thank you so much!!!!! You mean translate the whole thing? I wouldn’t be able to give any better a reading than you could get from Google Translate and an LLM yourself, I just crop and flip and scan with the camera function until I’ve stitched the text together correctly 🥲

The pages describing the process is written in flattering third person, so i suppose it must have been Kuma writing those parts? And then there are a couple of notes here and there from Yana. The pins represent the arcs so far and she says Sebastian’s special outfits are always difficult because his black tailcoat is a given, so she has to figure it out in the details.

The interview with Ono is basically the same as it always has been: he was amazed that they would give a role like Sebastian to me when I was so inexperienced, he was directed to be completely inhuman and never falter in doing so (with one example being how he was told that Sebastian doesn’t need to breathe), to always maintain that same elegant composure. The tidbit I posted before was actually something new to me lol but this was several years ago now, in his interviews from the recent anime seasons he’s finally started saying that Sebastian’s delivery is supposed to be changing from that totally non human characterization. Though, he really first started saying that in the movie interviews because Sebastian got seriously hurt for the first time. Here’s Yana message at the end:

I haven’t run this by anybody yet, for the record— just wrote what seemed to be most accurate after interrogating the machine a bit. It echos sentiments I feel like we’re very familiar with outside of the main text itself, like the Public School Arc’s ED lyrics for instance.
