kai all but sighed at the fingers stroking his hair, feeling warmth and safety in the form of a comfortable weight settling into his heaving chest. he dazedly wondered if he’d be allowed to just lay in shingo’s lap instead, yearning for more, and feeling like he’s at the brink of death he thought he might as well do it. the other wouldn’t have the heart to shove him off under such circumstances, would he ? and well, if he did, it wasn’t like he had a fuck to give, intimate as it would turn out to be. there was a childishness in his every thought and action, something he wasn’t allowed to do since he left home.

kai closed his eyes as fingers ran through his hair, nuzzling into the pillow to make up for the lack of skin contact. it honestly wasn’t enough, but he didn’t want to appear needy, though he wanted to just say “ so what ? ” in reply to the accusation.

his reply came out a short, incoherent mumble, followed by what sounded so close to a whine into the pillow as he buried his face deeper into it, irrationally irritated when the touch left him.

at this point he really wasn’t caring about much else other than shingo’s reassuring contact no matter how he dealt it, already truly out of it, unconsciously shifting closer to where the other sat on the bed. his eyelids were heavy, but he was trying his best not to fall asleep, lest he woke up alone again.

The cat made himself comfortable quickly, settling in next to the other sitting up slightly. His lap was open, almost offering itself to Kai, as if it was trying to say ‘I’d much more comfortable than those pillows’. But of course, no part of Shingo could be so honest, so vulnerable. Instead he busied himself with the simple task of straightening the other’s hair. Unusually gentle fingers stroking a few frizzy strands back down into place, tucking them behind a ear.
