Equinox ball in the castle
Rukaâs heart was aching. Itâs been a while he was as anxious, nervous and upset the last time it ached like this, physically. If he wasnât standing in a line of vampires ready to enter the big ball room, heâd slam a toilet door after himself to burst out crying.
Instead he sucked in air through his nose and exhaled with his lips mildly pursed. The haori and the obi (belt) holding it together was tight. It highlighted his thin waist and Ruka had mixed feelings about his appearance. He looked stunning in his first formal clothing was made exclusively to him, stitch by stitch. Which he hated for the first time.
His back feeling stiff and straight like a column, Ruka turned his head to look at Cas stood by the opposite wall of the corridor, his fiancé too, waiting to enter the hall. The jewel stroked the side of his neck and his heart sunk again, realizing the meaningful, decorated chain across his face.
- Cas⊠- he whispered, knowing well he had his mateâs attention, feeling every cell, every atom of his energy touching his own, like they didnât stay a meter away but tightly side by side. Ruka reached his arm out, knowing if Caspar did the same they could exchange a brief hand-holding what he needed so much.
@umbra-est-magus
It was undeniable that Caspar was going to get stares, at least thatâs what he thought. While he was certain the other families knew about him, this was the first time theyâd be meeting him â a complete outsider who was intending to marry the second child of the Edora clan. He tried to make his peace with it by putting his anxiety aside and repeating what his friend Asylum had told him about eye contact, smiles, and greetings or laughing it off. Just the thought that he had a being so well versed in social affairs like Asylum lending him a bit of advice was surreal enough to make him want to laugh. Like there was a dirty little secret that was just his and Rukaâs that none of the other elders could touch or compare with perhaps. It kept his mind off of his anxiet, yet he could feel it rolling off of Ruka. Caspar knew the attire and jewel was to blame. Ruka tried so hard to be only a man, and nothing else, that having to walk around as an intersex vampire was far more than alien for his partner. The term âDysphoriaâ didnât do the feeling justice, since it was also their first formal social occassion on top of just gender identity anxiety. He immediately sense Ruka reaching for him, and he did the same, taking his partnerâs hand as best we could. Silently he told Ruka <Just remember what Asylum told me, we make eye contact and if they look away just laugh or smile, and if they donât look away we can introduce ourselves but I swear Iâm not leaving your side. I do want to try and say hi to your mom first. I trust Tatsuo. Heâs always been kind to us, and Iâd like to be equally as polite even if he has to be formal at the ball.> @kuromiyakun
Taking another self-calming breath through his nose, Ruka squeezed the hand in his hold lightly, with a smile. âI know.â - he thought to Cas, his voice and mind swirling around his partnerâs inside his head. The presence of the other was really reassuring and making Ruka to feel less stupid.
Gently a hand pressed against the back of his neck, warm fingers squeezing his muscle. Turning his head he faced Nikida, who left his place on the front of the line to show his support to Ruka, wordlessly. The sinlings exchanged a smile and one more with Razor, who looked back over his shoulder. The intersex vampire stood right in front of the second heir, his long hair falling free on his back. He wore elegant make-up and a very similar jewel to Rukaâs which looked stunning across his face.
Releasing Casâs hand when the double doors opened, light music became louder and the line of Edora family members moved ahead, led by the first heir. Ruka had to leave his fiancĂ© behind for some seconds, until Cas could enter the room too, walking in behind Amun. The elderly vampire in traditional red kimono, who looked no more than 30 in human standards was a far relative of the Edoras and one of the oldest vampires on Earth, led the Edoraâs personal guests into the ballroom.
@umbra-est-magus
The amount of social traditions he had to cram into his head the past few days while also juggling his own life with Ruka had kept him from being able to spend more time talking to his husband.
He was thankful enough to attend this ball. It spoke a lot and while not all the family may take him and his devotion to Ruka seriously he was going to prove them wrong. He waited for his turn to enter with slightly less patience than the elder leading them. Cas took his promise seriously and was thankful for the emotional connection shared with Ruka.
Once he was inside Cas knew exactly where his partner was waiting for him. Once he was able to rejoin Ruka he took his partnerâs hand to hold.
Softly in a whisper he asked, âAnything else we have to formally do like greetings or do we get to mingle freely?â
He just wanted to skip to the part where he could talk to Tatsuo or Oxana to get the evening going smoothly but he knew formal affairs had their own structure of events to adhere to.
@kuromiyakun
- No, I donât know. - Ruka shook his head a little, his stomach aching from nervousness as the jewel swung lightly on both sides of his jaw. - I feel like a fucking cow, labeled. - the second heir gritted his teeth, adjusting the front of his kimono once more, trying to suppress his emotions.
When the farther double door of the ballroom opened and he noticed the snow white kimonos he moaned out loud with a tiny jerk of his upper lip. The Kitaos gracefully entered, his mother on the front, followed by his elder son.
Rukaâs spine squirmed under the luxurious material of his kimono and goosebumps ran up on his arms, mostly from feeling the aversion of Nikida and his father who both stood not too far from him. The only one should feel most irked, the kingâs dragon companion smiled the lightest on the newly entering guests, straight at the vampire his mate cheated him with, on the front.
Nikida gazed back at Ruka, who swallowed dryly from what he saw in the first heirâs eyes. His elder sibling tried to seek his feelings out for seeming his mother. The one for everyone else was an enemy.
- Enjoying the party? - Ruka heard from behind himself. Jumping a bit, he squeezed Casâ hand reflexively until he realized who spoke to him.
- Colonel. Very not. - he peeked back over his shoulder, recognizing the black,-purple uniformed kimono the warrior wore, always.
@umbra-est-magus
Caspar thought to Ruka rather than replying aloud, <âDonât make me channel my inner Asylum and point out youâre far hotter than any cow could ever be, so you should use the word âQueenâ or âPrincessâ to give yourself some credit.â> He knew the jewel bothered Ruka and that the word âbotheredâ was a polite term that didnât fit how ugly the feeling was crawling under Rukaâs skin. While he viewed Ruka, as âmaleâ in terms of identity heâd never not been aware of the intersex biology, and that by him ignoring it he had allowed them both to just live in a half-fantasy that it could be ignored altogether. Until social customs like this came up. Cas squeezed Rukaâs hand happy to hear Daiji checking in on Ruka. The Colonel knew Ruka well enough that Ruka was always managed to feel better around their instructor, and more open. He also chimed in, âI donât want to leave your side, but I think if I can get this party started if I say hi to your mother. Itâll be fun, just like our friend suggested.â Caspar tilted his head with a large smile, knowing full well he was going to make everyone stare at *him* rather than his partner, then put Asylumâs advice to work for his partnerâs benefit, so less attention was on his partner⊠at least in regards to the jewel. Instead theyâd be judging the fiance or political situation.  @kuromiyakun
Hearing the word princess and queen made Rukaâs eyes to move at Caspar, suddenly feeling flattered, in the depth of his look, dirty promises.
âSkip courting or else⊠Iâll drag you out of here.â - he thought to his partner with a tiny, lopsided smile.
- Sure, go. - the second heir nod, pulling his hand gently back. Non-verbal communication was considered rude in the presence of someone who understood them. Daiji could as well feel the remark of Caspar and the reaction it had on Ruka being called a queen. - Later Iâll greet him too. - he added, pulling his fingers through his kimono again, looking a bit nervous.
Peeking towards his mother he frowned, narrowing his eyes to focus more on his appearance, noticing a thin, elegant jewel across his face, very similar to his own. - Or you know what? Let me come with you. - he reached after his partner.
@umbra-est-magus
Caspar hadnât really started to walk away, so he simply turned to reach out for Rukaâs hand. He was only considering going on his own because Daiji was standing with Ruka, since he had made the promise to Ruka that he wouldnât leave his side. Daiji was the one person Cas could see, that Ruka was comfortable enough around that he was the safest person Ruka could ever be with in a ball like this. Probably more than Cas himself, given that the elder had experience and skills with these things that Cas didnât. As he grasped Rukaâs hand, he took a moment to tell Daiji. âThank you Colonel, Would you mind if we continue chatting later after we greet Kitao-san and some of the other guests?â Caspar was guessing that Ruka might get overwhelmed, but didnât know how to be direct and ask for help. That he simply wanted to drag Ruka out of a situation if it got too complicated by heading to Daiji rather than just Oxana, given that Ruka had such confidence and trust in the Colonel. Caspar felt the depth of his inexperience and almost sighed, knowing he hadnât a clue on how to ask Daiji directly for anything. @kuromiyakun
Tasuo sensed the attention of his youngest son and his eyes found Ruka and Caspar about to approach him. Straightening his back a small smile appeared in the corner of his lips, arching his brows in interest.
Rukaâs face jerked into a reluctant grimace for a moment was noticed by only those knew him well-enough. Of course Daiji as a psychic couldnât miss it either, and gazed the back of the second heir for a moment, understanding where his discomfort is coming from before nodding towards Caspar, appreciating the apology.Â
Squeezing his fiancĂ©âs hand Ruka inhaled slowly through his nose as he stopped in front of his mother. Not expecting the move, his eyes jumped on Tasuoâs outreached right hand. It wasnât the usual formal way of greeting, rather a warm gentle invite to hold hands for a moment like close relatives do.
And Ruka before he could understand, squeezed the fragile looking hand of his mother, smiling from the warmth he noticed in his eyes.
- Good to see you, son. - he mouthed, earning a hard sigh from his elder son stood behind him. - And you too, Caspar. - he nod with a small smile.

((Cas would have contacted Asylum before Christmas since they had plans to get together with them around that time (roughly))) A few days after they returned and Caspar got the news about the ball, he knew that it would be impossible to judge just how long some of the lingering problems would take to resolve. Catching up with everything the ball preparations were eating up their time, which meant no time for anything else including reviewing the marriage contract in enough detail he felt comfortable with it. That he wanted to resolve as well, before continuing with his travels if they were able to continue traveling. He decided it would be best to call Asylum and let him know what was going on. He waited for either the answering machine or Asylum to pick up. âHeyah, howâs my favorite blonde doing?â He asked as an opener⊠@kuromiyakun
- Honey, donât be silly. Whatever you try to make them believe you are someone else, is totally in vain. If you play a role it will always be trashy, because we canât be other than who we are. You are loved for you and if you change, you loose that. What is the reason then? - he stood, walking back and forth slowly, with a frown. - You are a noble man. Traits make a nobleman, not a certain behavior. You are loyal, honest, fair and just, it doesnât matter how well you bow or how much you know their culture.
Coughing he laughed out. - What? An âI have a vaginaâ jewel? I hope so much, this is just a joke. If not, Ruka will surely feel miserable the whole night, how his father can make him to do this? Damn, intersex vampires are walking around with stuff like that advertising their fertility? This kinda turns me on, get me an invitation.
@umbra-est-magus
âI try,â he said with a smile. âItâs not always easy, well, itâs actually hard. That and Iâm a royal asshole to the people I donât like. Iâll keep what you said in mind.â Caspar started laughing loudly too, Asylumâs reaction was priceless. âYeah, itâs real, but didnât you just mention Oxana will roast you to a crisp if you show up and cause problems? We canât have you looking balder than a Nosferatu, it doesnât suit your charm. The best I can do is take a photo. I want one for myself anyways, because yeah, it looks good on him even if the purpose is ridiculous. Iâd like it more if it wasnât a vagina badge.â âItâs really only the unmarried ones that wear it, since weâre not technically married yet. One reason Iâm kicking myself for not thinking about the contract sooner, but weâll be fine. Your advice is priceless.â âAlso buys me more time to get your gift finished. Itâs nothing too fancy, Iâm just picky on your behalf since itâs customized a bit.â @kuromiyakun
- Oh, I cause no troubles, Iâll just lead some out of the hall by their jewels to⊠you know, investigate if they are wearing it rightfully. - he pressed the tip of his tongue against his upper teeth, smirking.
âThe idea amuses me.â - Promise giggled inside his head.
- They didnât attract your attention to the contract, deliberately, I assume. They wanted to earn time. To see if you fit, but you will not and they soon will understand and let you be. Trust me. - he smiled.
@umbra-est-magus
Cas snickered, âIâm sure youâll do a thorough job checking. Though I might have to politely intervene if their name is Razor because Iâd hate to see you lose your hair.â He had to tease him. Razor could handle themselves and was free to make their own choices but he could also easily see Kassara disapproving outright if Asylum got remotely close to any of his family. He also trusted that Asylum wouldnât drag Ruka off either.
âThe rest is at your mercy,â he continued to joke.
âI do, I do. I appreciate the advice. Since weâll be here for awhile, anything I can send you from Tokyo youâve been missing? Or tea for your brother?â
@kuromiyakun
- I know Razor and I wouldnât want to mess with him. - Asylum chuckled, sticking his tongue out as he picked a watch up in the store. - Oh, yeah, it would be a cute gag but you know, honestly⊠- he raised the watch higher to check the little diamonds on the face of the watch. - nowadays I mess around with one particular Lord, only. And heâd burn my hair down sooner than Ox, if I fucked a bunch of vampires. - he laughed, airily.
- If you insist, send me sweets from over there. I miss those. All kinds.
@umbra-est-magus
âI hope that continues to work out for you,â Cas said not knowing what the right words of encouragement were. He had faith that Asylum could make it work, and at least that he deserved to have some happiness in his life. Cas had no problem with the world being a mixed bag of good and bad, though he wished at times that he wasnât always feeling the pull to the problem-side of it. âI remember how much Ruka and I fought in the beginning since we had some pretty skewed or painful trauma that kept us from knowing how to talk to people without it turning into a messy situation. With his telekensis reacting to his emotional distress, we had to clean up a lot of broken glass for awhile. Hopefully you donât have to have that kind of ugly learning curve to work out. But all the work was worth it.â  âI can count on one hand or so the number of people Iâm comfortable being myself around, you and Ruka are two of those people.â @kuromiyakun
- Oh, darling. Itâs only question of time, no one stands me on a long run. - he grunted with a hint of a chuckle, but in the end his own words felt like swallowing poison.
âThatâs rightâ - Promise confirmed as he swirled around inside the angelâs mind like an eel.
- Anyway, I can see the trauma-reflex, but you are not as one dimensional as you think. But not a victim either, so donât let them toying with you ever again. - He turned around lightly, to invite the shop assistant closer, pointing at the watch he checked seconds ago.
- You are a sweet talker, my little bloodsucker. Just donât get too comfortable. In the end, youâll find yourself bitten in the ass. - the Lord of Promiscuity smirked, however touched by the compliment deep inside.
@umbra-est-magus
âIf you need a break periodically, come visit. Sometimes we all need a second to get our head together or just before things get overwhelming. Itâs not like Ruka and I didnât have our fights.â He knew that it wasnât safe to suggest this, but if he didnât trust in Asylum he shouldnât be talking to him. He wanted to show Asylum as much trust as he thought the angel deserved. Asylum fought to get this far, and Caspar felt like he should be given a chance to keep fighting to go further. How could he help Asylum keep going if he wasnât there for him which only served to prove Promiscuity as being right when the demon wasnât. Not all the time. Caspar desperately still hoped he could be the exception to the nature in most living creatures that made Asylum seem so depressed at times. âIâm glad you think so,â he chimed in as Asylum spoke about him not being a victim. He appreciated the support. He didnât feel in control, and it was like he was constantly feeling too vulnerable these days. Caspar laughed, âIâm twice as likely to get my ass kicked that bitten with the way I think and act, but I also think Iâve gotten so used to it that I forget itâs supposed to be a punishment.â @kuromiyakun
- Oh, maybe I will. - he shrugged with a cheeky smile to the invitation. - You know, I work hard, night and day, I deserve a holiday. - he grunted not too elegantly, with a hint of a giggle. - Well, if my jailer and my lover allows me to leave alone.
- Noble vampires will keep on kicking your ass for an awful long time, do not mind it a bit. Itâs to hammer you into the line of identical nails. They tolerate no differences, so not woke. - he complained, as he walked up to the cashier and paid for his watch and cashmere shawl.

I broke Banshee!
It happened in a friction of a moment. In one second Banshee was scolding him for coming home drunk and in the next, he collapsed, lying stiff and motionless on his back in the last three minutes while Mason, completely sobered from shock, tried to shake the Nosferatu up.
Struggling to remember, he was almost sure Ban grabbed his wrist kind of rough then all Mason saw was a blinding white light and when he opened his eyes, his friend was lying on the ground, his arms beside his body, straight and stiff like a coffin nail, his eyes rolled back.
Pulling out his phone the young vampire hastily looked for the only phone number he could call in a situation like this: Caspar. Turning the speaker on, he put the cellphone down with shaking hand, to the chair as he set on his heels, on the floor, beside Banshee, chanting:
- Pick it up. Pick it up. Pick it up.
@umbra-est-magusâ
âWhat do you mean fried?â - Ruka thought back, opening his eyes again. - âOh damn, no. Daiji once did that to my brain, it shut down. If wasnât my healing ability, we wouldnât talk today. I donât know anyone there could help.â - the young vampire set up with a grimace, feeling sorry for Mason. He probably just killed or crippled his best friend.
Mason moaned on a high, suffering tone, trying to think rational about anyone could help. Ban avoided other Nosferatu, however⊠- Hopper! - he said in the end. - He is a Nosferatu⊠an info dealer, he is researching vampire weaknesses. And⊠Polona, she is a faeling is about 200 something years old, I donât know about her. - he moaned again, unsure about her expertise. - I could ask Sahara, she is from a noble local family, she knows vampire magic but doesnât know about my ability, I didnât trust herâŠ
@umbra-est-magus
Cas fliniched as he counted through all the option adding his own, knowing damn well that a certain friend of his flew by New York on a regular basis through his dozens of trips around hospitals in the Northern end of the East Coast. He didnât really feel like Mason was up for meeting the vampire-ass-stomping level of a supernatural but Banshee didnât deserve to die just because Mason was a baby who didnât know his own strength or respect it enough to keep himself in check. Caspar sent to Ruka, <âI know *one* person who could make it there ⊠like in minutes if he damn well felt like it just with a photo, that can pull Banshee out of it. If Masao isnât actually in a visit or surgery with one of his patients right nowâŠ. since he is a practicing medical Dr for humans ⊠â> He let out a sigh that even Mason could hear, âDonât talk to someone you donât trust. Rule out that Sahara for now, because chances are she knows less than the one person I can send your way who also can heal vampires as heâs literally a vampire and human doctor. Heâs the only reason Iâm still around because I damn near got myself kid when I was pretty much a vampire baby several times overâŠ.â @kuromiyakun
Ruka bared his teeth and pulled his chin back, recalling Masao. - Okay⊠- he murmured with a hint of uncertainty. - âŠif you think heâd jump in only because you ask him.
- But how long will it take? - Mason asked, pressing the heel of his palm against his right eye. - I donât know how much time Banshee has. - he spoke, his voice getting hazy as he slowly gave up on hope. The Nosferatu stilled completely, the weird trembling was gone and his eyes were closed. It was impossible to tell if he was still in there, as unconscious a Nosferatu passed as a corpse, easily.
@umbra-est-magus
<Well, heâd consider it, and if I throw in a favor or two he wants, he will assuming he isnât busy with something he considers more pressing and that usually means some kidâs life over a vampireâs.> Cas explained to Ruka. The favor or two was to buy an expedited response and to compensate Masao for sticking his neck out on someone he didnât know. Even if they were friends, Masaoâs professional work in a lot of ways did rate higher than a random Nosferatu, so he wouldnât blame him for wanting an incentive if he was already preoccupied. That, and Masao had the most absurd duality in that an innocent human child would get all of his attention and time for free, just for the sake of hope for a better future, while the most famous of supernatural creatures would have to pander their money and power to even get Masaoâs attention and keep it. âMason, do me a favor, or do the person whoâs going to come help Banshee a favor. If thereâs a room you can clear a good ten foot square in by moving some furniture around, do it. Clear out a ten foot area in the room then take a photo of it and send me the photo, and send me the address of your place even if it doesnât have a street address like the âthird house westâ from whatever cross streets youâre at is fine.â He didnât measure the value of things like money or power or authority quite the same as those in their own society did. He had uses for it, but he saw it through his own eyes for his own purposes. Caspar just also happened to share some of the same priorities and know that he could still pay his friend off for helping out with a few favors to get him over to Masonâs right away rather than a âfew minutes laterâ. Caspar told Ruka one of the major reasons why he thought of Masao while he sent a text message to the elder creature, <âHeâs the only supernatural I know that can -afford- to teleport to Masonâs doorstep and not bat an eye at the expense of it regardless of the time of day, and still heal Banshee just fine so⊠the cost is really how much energy he has to waste since thatâs major magick compared to just hopping a plane. Iâm just going to have to run a few errands for Masao in exchange to make up for the energy loss itâll take, but if we continue doing some traveling it would be more like a side trip wherever wereâ going. If anything Masao values efficiency as well especially if we hit up a few black markets on the way that Iâd likely want to visit myself anyways.> He wasnât lying. Chances are he could mention the black markets, and Masao would be more than willing to consider that a fair trade since he was way too public of a figure in human circles to often visit them himself. His fake human identity was very well known in the medical community which often had a wide overlap into the supernatural and even the black markets considering what organs and other things ended up for sale there. @kuromiyakun
- Okay. - Mason said on a hopeless voice. - Iâm hanging up, but please call me back as soon as you have news. - he asked, talking to his phoneâs dark screen. Shifting into a crouching position, after a moment of hesitation, scooped Ban up into his arms, standing with the tall Nosferatu in his hold with surprising ease.
Ban was completely limp by now and yet, holding his thin body wasnât a challenge at all. Taking him to his studio, the young vampire put him down on the armchair was reserved for the tattoo artistâs clients. With tight throat, on the verge of bursting out in tears, Mason went to the living room, quickly creating the required space by moving the furniture to under the walls.
[Cas] Iâm done.
He informed Cas in a text message, after collecting his phone from the kitchen and opened his camera to take a picture.
[Cas] I am sending the photo and the address in a sec.
In the meantime, Ruka woke finally and after rolling his shoulders a bit from stiffness, joined the side of Caspar with a worried face, waiting for the news.
@umbra-est-magus
Caspar knew that one phone call might not be enough, so he quickly put together a âget his attention planâ. He sent a text first, with a basic âemergencyâ line a friend of his needing help and that heâd pay anything if it came down to it, by himself. Then he called Masao, the briefest voice message, âItâs an emergency,â then he hung up and called again. He repeated it, then when he called the third time Masao picked up. Caspar had no idea what time it was there only that Banshee was in trouble. Masao spoke inquisitively, yet softly on the other end. Caspar never called like this unless it was a life and death situation and the vampire was severely panicked, âHow bad is it?â He told Masao, âA friend of mine, barely a kid of a vampire a year old, accidentally fried his mentorâs head with his psychic powers. Youâre the only one who can get there before the guy dies. I know itâs going to be hard, so just literally hand me a list of everything you think I can get for you and Iâll do it.â â⊠Letâs discuss the payment later. An emergency simply is, and I wonât know until afterwards how exacting the toll shall be.â Caspar let out a sigh, âI got the address and had him clear out a spot for you to teleport over. It shouldnât be too far⊠although I know itâll tax the limits.â The further out the more Masao would need to rely on his magical âbatteriesâ that he had charged for just such situations. Those were the genuine cost of all of this. That Masao was circumspectful enough to prepare ahead for severely powerful magic just in case his friends or himself was hurt or attacked â given that *some* of his work solicited envy and fear to warrant such defensive preparations. It also meant that Masao could heal nearly anything on a momentâs notice.â âHave you been there yourself?â Masao asked. âYes, should I just knock myself out so you can look?â Caspar was indirectly referring to Masaoâs ability to walk into dreams. It was the very magic that Masao had taught to Caspar, that Cas had used to look into Asylumâs head the one time. Though, he couldnât use it now, not unless he was in the same room with the person because of the changes to his tattoos that allowed him a greater access to the magic. He had those replaced with artistic ones courtesy of Banshee. Masao sighed, âNo need, I can do it while youâre awake still. Though warn your partner that you might be feeling the burden.â Caspar grimaced. Masao meant that he was basically going to hijack some of Casâs own internal energy to finish the spell, but it as worth the cost to get Masao there faster. Caspar turned to Ruka not looking very pleased, âI need to send Masao a mental image, but the connectionâs going to wipe me out without the tattoos I used to have, so if I pass out donât worry about it. It just means that Masaoâs on his way over to heal Banshee.â ((I can write more but ughs, back is bothering me and I need to get more ice. Itâs been hard to write because of the pain issues)) @kuromiyakun
The calls and the response after was promising in one hand, but not at all in the other. Cas had to promise to âpayâ Masao somehow and Ruka was almost certain they didnât talk about money but something way more valuable.
Crouching he looked up at his mate with unease, picturing the situation of Mason who was surely scared to death for his best friendâs life.
Standing he nod when Cas mentioned heâd pass out, ready to catch him. His fiancĂ© was obviously strong enough to endure a process of Masao but it wasnât reassuring enough for his worrying heart.
- Iâm here. - he ensured his partner and sighed, self-calming.
@umbra-est-magus
Joining Cas on the sofa, he lied down on his stomach, looking up at the dark haired vampire, smiling.
- Hey. Wanna take a bath with me? - asked, recalling the last time they relaxed in a hot tub of water. It was a while ago.
@umbra-est-magusâ
- I believe not only elders will be there. The Omura and Eiko family has heirs our age. Kinji and Lux. Iâm kind of curious about them. But Tora and Kouyou will be attending too, we can team up with them in a corner. - he grunted, amused.
- Oh, I like this idea too. Iâd do either this or Iâd go whisper something into my fatherâs ear, while gazing the one gave me the side-eye. Theyâd surely piss themselves. - he grinned, evilly.
@umbra-est-magus
Caspar laughed, âYeah, I think we can have fun with it. Honestly throwing the embarrassment back at them in an undisputable manner is fun. Hopefully we wonât have to.â âI guess I havenât been quite as curious, though Iâm more interested in their clanâs abilities or powers than anything. I hadnât gotten very far in learning about their history before we started traveling.â âWe can stay longer if you want to catch up on your combat training. Itâll give me time to review the contract. I want to sign it, but I want to try and approach this the right way. Like if I need to suggest changes or additions, and how to do it politely.â âWe can leave a divorce clause in since Iâm never leaving you, it doesnât bother me to have it in their if it makes your father happy. Though Iâd want to suggest changing it, in that if I do anything so horrible or treat you so poorly that you want to divorce me, I think *you* should get to say what I do and donât get at that point. If you want to make me pay for hurting you even. Iâd say make the clause even tougher, as long as you get to have a word in what happens.â @kuromiyakun
- Yes, I would like to hear about different kind of abilities and how they are under the leadership of Edora family. I am curious about their training and education too. Also, it would be nice to catch up with my training and classes, if you donât mind?
Leaning back in the tub, he put his arms up on the rim. - Letâs see the opening contract before discussing any divorce closure. But I donât mind it either.
@umbra-est-magus
âHonestly I think your father would breathe easier if we stuck around awhile. Plus I can harass Eriss so Oxana can get a break or help him with his research. I think it might help me figure out what else I can put my time into to stay awhile. Iâm just not ready to go full into being the royal-in-law yet. â
âWe can always try shorter trips abroad too where weâre just visiting for a week or two then coming back if we get burned out.â
@kuromiyakun
- Iâm glad you are not against it. And yeah⊠we can re-discuss if either of us burns out. - he shrugged, moving forward, sitting on his heels between Casâ legs. - Letâs get out of the tub. After the final adjustments your hakama arrived. I want to see what it looks on you. Would you put it on? - he smiled, tempting.
@umbra-est-magus
âIâm not against it, Iâm just not sure who I should be anymore besides your partner. Iâm trying to see if I can let go of the anger and rage that drove me to keep trying to learn more magic or get stronger, but ⊠I didnât realize that was really driving me to keep living for the longest time. Now I have you, I donât really need the rest of it, but I kind of built my whole life around the pursuit of kicking ass to the point Iâm not sure what to do when Iâm not trying to kick everyoneâs ass.â @kuromiyakun
- What do you mean? You donât know who you are or you donât know what to occupy yourself with? A job wonât define you and me either. - Ruka frowned with a smile, cocking his head. - Come on, as a hitman, street fighter, bodyguard, I built everything around kicking asses too but... - he shrugged with a sigh. - we both have other skills and connections. No? Or... what would root you to reality?

- They didnât attract your attention to the contract, deliberately, I assume. They wanted to earn time. To see if you fit, but you will not and they soon will understand and let you be. Trust me. - he smiled.

@kuromiyakun
- I know Razor and I wouldnât want to mess with him. - Asylum chuckled, sticking his tongue out as he picked a watch up in the store. - Oh, yeah, it would be a cute gag but you know, honestly... - he raised the watch higher to check the little diamonds on the face of the watch. - nowadays I mess around with one particular Lord, only. And heâd burn my hair down sooner than Ox, if I fucked a bunch of vampires. - he laughed, airily.
- If you insist, send me sweets from over there. I miss those. All kinds.
@umbra-est-magus
Joining Cas on the sofa, he lied down on his stomach, looking up at the dark haired vampire, smiling.
- Hey. Wanna take a bath with me? - asked, recalling the last time they relaxed in a hot tub of water. It was a while ago.
@umbra-est-magusâ
@umbra-est-magus
@umbra-est-magus
âHonestly I think your father would breathe easier if we stuck around awhile.
@kuromiyakun
- Iâm glad you are not against it. And yeah... we can re-discuss if either of us burns out. - he shrugged, moving forward, sitting on his heels between Casâ legs. - Letâs get out of the tub. After the final adjustments your hakama arrived. I want to see what it looks on you. Would you put it on? - he smiled, tempting.

Chaos for Christmas
@umbra-est-magus
âI try,â he said with a smile. âItâs not always easy, well, itâs actually hard.
- Oh, I cause no troubles, Iâll just lead some out of the hall by their jewels to... you know, investigate if they are wearing it rightfully. - he pressed the tip of his tongue against his upper teeth, smirking.
