Apologies for reaching out over this, but I think your "panda type" term might be better fit exclusive to Chinese Asians and those within that sphere. It feels very odd to call a term about an alter being originated from discrimination "panda type" when many Asians have no associations with pandas even stereotypically, let alone culturally. The term feels somewhat excluding towards non east Asians in general, but even as someone of east Asian descent (I am Japanese American), I would be deeply uncomfortable to have the racism towards me be associated with *pandas* which have no relevance to my personal culture nor how I have been discriminated against. This was also brought up to an Indonesian friend of mine who also shared similar discomfort at the associations. I don't think the intent was bad at all, but the term felt extremely generalizing for such a specific name and imagery.

when we coined this term, we originally were trying to come up with an animal that was common across all of asia/at least a majority of it, but upon a google search and several website checks it seemed there were none. we figured we would choose pandas because it's generally the first animal that comes to mind when asia is mentioned, and it worked out well because the chinese variant of the term is a red panda. because every asian culture is unique to itself, it's very hard to represent that all through one animal.
despite our intentions, if this term is unintentionally offensive, we can offer either a. coining an alternative with a suggestion pole, or b. simply deleting the term. we apologize to anyone in the asian community who felt this representation was inaccurate or excluding, and will consult with others when making similar terms in the future. thank you for the ask!

mogai, alterhumanity, and slurs.
iโve seen a lot of people within mogai, alterhuman, and similar communities be very casual with their usage of the word โmuttโ and i understand this is likely due to ignorance on the fact that it is in fact a racial slur.
how is it a slur? when used to refer specifically to humans or those in human bodies, it is used derogatorily specifically towards mixed race individuals. while yes it refers to a dog or any animal that is mixed breed iโm sure you can understand why it is offensive and a slur when used towards humans. it is dehumanizing and degrading mixed people, calling us animals.
i do not care if you are alterhuman or other kin or otherwise donโt identify as a human, including physically, i kindly ask you to please stop referring to yourself as a mutt; including names, pronouns, titles, what have you. unless you are a mixed race individual you cannot and should not be attempting to reclaim it or use it to refer to yourself.
i really wish this causal racism and normalization of a racial slur wasnโt so widespread and prevalent in these communities, that people were more knowledgeable on the fact it is a slur. please educate yourselves more, i understand not everyone may know it is a slur but upon learning so please do your own research and stop using it unless your mixed race- and even then understand other individuals may not be comfortable calling you a mutt.
tldr: mutt is a racial slur against mixed race individuals. unless you are bodily mixed race do not use it as names, pronouns, titles, etc etc any way to describe yourself. it is not for alter humans/non human individuals as a whole to reclaim, only to those bodily mixed race. please educate yourselves.

MOGAI ABCS: Day 3 - Culture

we are. so excited about this prompt, i'll& be real. for me in particular, our culture has been a huge journey, but it's inevitably something intrinsic to our identity. to start things off, nationally, we're canadian. we were raised in canada our whole life, and growing up next to the ocean definitely affects our collective attachment to it as well as our sharkkin identity, especially considering the body's dad would take us to visit his hometown, which is an area directly next to the ocean.
when it comes to our chinese identity, it has...been a long time coming. as a child, we struggled a lot with coming to terms the fact we're mixed. people- our parents included- seemed almost obsessed with trying to place us into some kind of explainable box, because "well you aren't really chinese, you're still part white" but also, "you aren't technically white, you're still part chinese". the words "part" really hurt us because if we aren't entirely one or the other, what even are we? and because we were surrounded by a mainly white dominated community, we naturally tried to assimilate ourselves with white people. we saw ourselves as white, but our peers didn't, especially not with how much racism we faced.
when we got into our teenage years up to now, we began to finally acknowledge our chinese heritage. these days, it affects many parts of our identity, mainly being what we seek in a relationship alongside our alterhumanity. for me especially, i'm a tiger because i'm chinese. tigers are significant in chinese culture, especially for feminine aligned beings, and we inherently associate that to my identity as a femme. i consider myself to be a descendant of tigers because of their connection to chinese ancestry, and similarly, my connection to lotuses is a result of their divine symbolisms in asian culture. as a nature eldritch (especially because i'm angel presenting), it's very relevant and important to my identity.

MOGAI ABCS: Day 2 - Body

wow ok this is going to be an interesting one. so first off, as host i guess it makes sense that i connect my identity to the most, especially when a majority of our rebels are either neutral on it or dysphoric because of our body type (excluding me and the two other mods on this blog, 90% of us are buff in some way and the body is. very much not!! sorry guys ๐).
for me, my body majorly impacts my presentation, especially my feminine presentation. i get a lot of euphoria from being a femme with body hair, and my body hair is really important to how i present myself as a girl. growing up, we faced a lot of misogyny and criticism for being a proudly hairy girl, to a point that we started to reject the euphoria we felt from our body hair. for a long time, we were incredibly insecure of our hands and legs as a result of our body hair, but we learned to embrace it slowly, and actually- the mogai community was a big part of this. i've learned to take pride in being an otter femme, and i'd honestly never want to go back. as you may or may not can tell we have coined a lot of presentation terms and it's mainly just because of how important our presentation (especially the fact we present alternatively) is to our identity. we have always been outwardly perceived as intimidating/strange overall due to the fact we're visibly alternative, and that's had a big impact on how we present ourselves physically as well as our transition goals. the more odd/nonhuman we present to society, the more euphoric and affirmed we feel in our physical identity as a collective.
