Heartstopper is one of the very few good and happy gay stories out there. It doesn't rely on the whole ''being gay is tragic and someone dies''- storyline or that being gay is the whole personality so everything else is not important. The three seasons had so many happy moments und real connections between the characters. They were real friends and supported each other.

So it was shocking to see that the movie was anything but happy. It consisted of parties, alcohol, bad communication that came out of nowhere and friends that were more like background characters than an actual part of the story. They were there to fill the screen and nothing more. We didn't get any updates from them or any actual conversations between them and Charlie and/or Nick.

And I think what really caught my friends and I completely off guard was the amount of sex that was depicted. I can understand that it's part of a relationship but it was so exessive that it was out of place a lot of times. The very first scene was of them running on the pier and then having sex on said pier. And then almost everytime they where on screen they had sex. In the two hour run time it was probably six or seven times. Why? Just why?

At one point the movie also tried to establish that teenage relationships don't last. They showed us that by breaking up Elle and Tao for whatever reason that wasn't really explained. And then Charlie and Nick had one bad conversation and were broken up for some time. They also connected the bad communication with Nicks mental health. He was struggling with it through out the movie and it could've been interesting by changing the dynamic of Charlie being there for him instead of the other way around like it was in the past. But no. They got back together again and nothing was mentioned every again.

The movie just felt really hollow and didn't had the charm or the magic the show had. I think one of the main reasons for it was also the missing animation of leaves or other elements. There were some but not nearly as much as in the show.

Every time a big nose gets cosmetic surgery to make it smaller an angel loses it’s wings. And this time it’s a whole choir of angels because Wooyoung had one of the prettiest noses out there.

I know we shouldn’t comment on peoples bodies and how they change but I hate what the Kpop industry does to unique and beautiful feature. Pressuring idols to change themselves just to fit the made up standard of a society.

1. Having children as war veterans is insanity?! And also all of it is happing in their FIRST year?!!

2. something with the author must be very wrong to have Midoriya mutilate himself on a daily basis. Couldn’t he just write it differently? (and let’s not forget the sexualization of every female and some male characters. That’s just gross. Most of them are children! Justice for Momo!)

Everyone’s favorite season is coming!! I can’t wait for the pumpkin spiced latte and Over the garden wall rewatch!
