I had an itch in my head that I needed to scratch

I loveloveloveLOVE the references to 1984 the writers made when writing The Cardassian Empire. I wonder if they just ran with it in ds9 after they wrote Picard's torture scenes to resemble Winston's.

I also wonder if O'Brien's imprisonment and trial was in any way inspired by The Trial. He essentially did get Joseph K-ed
