A thin brow raised at the woman that emerged from the shadows. He recognized her as an Eleventh Division seated officer and as a friend of his lieutenant. She held herself tall and proudly and without any trace of emotion on her features. 

He wondered why she had made her way to the Sixth’s gardens. She had spoken about wanting to know who else was awake at such a late hour but she must have been more curious than a cat to have come all the way here. Most would have just noticed that someone else was up and moved on.

“I see,” he replied softly. “I am surprised you were curious enough to come all the way here, though.”

She studied him. It was always different to see others out of their uniform and in their personal clothing. They always looked less… harmful? But clearly the captain wasn’t expecting company.

“I was in the area actually. I tend to wander when I can’t sleep.” She replied with a small sigh. “But I shouldn’t have intruded.” The girl then turned her gaze to where the captain had been looking before she interrupted him. “The moon seems beautiful tonight.” The statement was almost random, but none the less true.

“Hmm,” He hummed. That would make more sense than if she had come here all the way from the Eleventh. He held on to the fact that most would not have bothered finding him, though. Still, he wasn’t particularly bothered by her presence. She didn’t seem as obnoxious as most of Renji’s friends. But that could be just from not knowing her well enough. 

They got buried by the backlash btw. Even other English Majors disagreed.

The fourth seat of the eleventh squad sat on the roof top, basking in the light of the moon as if it were the heat of the sun. She spent most her nights like this, wide awake with her mind running wild… but tonight was different. A presence of someone else danced around at the edge of her mind. And you know what? She wasn’t nick named Trouble for nothing.

So dropping down to the ground beneath her, she decided to find the other lonely soul that was out and about tonight. The shinigami didn’t feel threatened the presence was somewhat familiar. And when she came upon him she figured out why. Kuchiki Byakuya was Renji Abarai’s, who was Troubles best friend, captain.

When the captain turned to her he was met with black hair pulled back into a braid, purple eyes with no emotion, and a tall, pale shinigami dressed in her uniform. “Kuchiki taichou… my apologies for intruding. I just wanted to see who else was up at this ungodly hour of the night.” Her words were soft spoken as her hand rests on the hilt of her sword.
