“Oh, my God, I’m not mad. I’m worried about her. I think somebody nominated her as a joke or something. And when nobody votes for her, she’s gonna have a total meltdown. And who’s gonna have to take care of her? Not me. And the crazy thing is is that it should be Jacinta, but people forget about her because she’s such so quiet.”

“why do proms have to have a theme? they’re already unnecessarily over the top as is.”

“So they’re not like every other school dance. And no offense but you’re not required to attend.”

“I don’t really care what theme you guys come up with,” she admitted with a shrug. “But please for the love of god, don’t get your inspiration for the theme from fucking Pinterest. I’m sure the rest of the student body would enjoy some creativeness.” 

“Pretty sure your mind has changed now that you’ve been officially nominated.”

“i’m so, so excited! i think a greek god and goddesses theme would be totes fun!”

“So how would that work exactly? Everyone is assigned to a specific god or goddess or do people just choose?”

I was thinking Great Gatsby? Something 20s since we’re in the 2020s, so like, 1920s suits and dresses.

Just got fed up being the odd one out. So I fixed it.

Jacinta had been out looking for some party supplies for the Plastics’ party on Friday when she noticed @ktmats​ around the same area. As they made eye contact, Jacinta wanted nothing more than to go up to her and talk to her. She wanted nothing more for things to go back to the way they were before, but she knew it’d practically be impossible with everything that had gone down within the past couple of weeks. So instead, Jacinta turned her nose upward and walked in the other direction. Sure, it was petty but if that’s the game Katie wanted to play, then so be it.

It didn’t surprised Katie when she saw Jacinta shopping at the same store that she was; being best friends allowed both of them to share a similar sense of style and share many things in common. After the two of them made eye contact and the brunette began walking away, Katie didn’t waste anytime calling her out. “You seriously can’t even be in the same aisle as me?”

“I think it’s pretty you started your own group,” Imogen stated truthfully. “I’ve always wanted there to be a group for like, us free-spirited people but I feel like that just defeats the purpose, you know? But kudos to you.” @ktmats​

“Um, thanks?” Katie replied, a slightly confused expression on her face. “Aren’t all of the Burnouts free-spirited anyway?”

“Well, maybe you’re not. But everyone else is. I’m just going to be the girl who’s boyfriend died in high school.”

“Who cares about everyone else? I sure don’t and you shouldn’t either. You know you’re more than that. You’re your own person. And I happen to think you’re pretty great. That’s why I nominated you for Prom Queen.”

“You could be a little more curtious, y’know. At a time like this, I don’t need your snark. I worked hard to make sure that my classmates don’t fall behind because something out of everyone’s control happened. Unlike you, who just sits idly by, judging people.”

“Sure, Clare. Go ahead and keep assuming you know me. I really don’t care anymore.”

I mean just because she gets along with the Plastics doesn’t mean she is one of them, right?

But she’s trying to be one, that’s the point I’m making here.

Maya: thought about lying to her sister, but now that her sister has experienced it too, she thought maybe it was better not too. "It's fine." Maya said as she wiggles her fingers a bit.
