people who don’t watch horror movies are SO confident that they know everything there is to know about the genre. like it’s okay to not know things. it’s okay if you don’t like friday the 13th or whatever. i promise you don’t need to make an ass out of yourself on the internet about it
horror is an incredibly diverse genre, because there is potential horror in everything. it’s in nature, it’s in architecture and technology, it’s in human relationships, it’s in folklore, the past, the future, the mundane. there are horror movies from all over the world. it is straight up anti-intellectual to pretend that the handful of B slashers you’ve vaguely heard about comprise the totality of what horror has to offer. If you’re just not interested in horror, or if you dislike certain subgenres of horror, then that’s fine, you’re not obligated to like anything at all. but smugly announcing that you don’t like horror because you dislike a handful of VERY specific non-universal tropes is just as stupid as saying that you hate comedy because you don’t like adam sandler movies.
this is what I mean by anti-intellectualism btw

absolutely major news out of georgia: the legislative session ended last night at midnight and ALL anti-lgbtq+ bills were defeated
Georgia Equality celebrates the defeat of anti-LGBTQ+ bills, including restrictions on gender-affirming care. Advocacy and activism prevaile
More from the article below.
This matters. We are not going anywhere.
--
"Georgia Equality is celebrating the defeat of more than a dozen anti-LGBTQ+ bills as state lawmakers wrapped their legislative session in the early hours of April 3.
In a statement posted to social media, the advocacy group said all anti-LGBTQ+ legislation was halted, including House Bill 54, which would have prevented doctors from prescribing puberty blockers to minors and restricted gender-affirming care for transgender people.
“Despite underhanded tactics being employed in these last couple weeks, over 2,500 of us contacted our legislators and nearly 400 came out to the Capitol to make their voices heard in person,” the social media post said.
The bills that were defeated included:
SB 30: a bill to restrict access to medical care for trans youth
SB 39: a bill to deny coverage of medical care for trans people covered by the State Employee Health Benefit Plan
SB 74: a bill to criminalize librarians sharing LGBTQ+ content
SB 497: a forced outing bill for LGBTQ+ students
HB 104 and 267: bills further restricting trans youth from participating in sports
HB 671: a drag ban
HB 1210: a bill to create en exemption for non-affirming parents and caretakers to abuse trans youth"

No longer allowed to help my dad in the garden because i picked up the shovel and he saw “a gleeful and cruel darkness in my eyes”
my predator drawing from Instagram❤️ hope the quality is alr.
SqueezeIt introduce their new “Color Changing Squeezit” 📺 (1996)
Okay but the Big Bad Beetleborgs ad
one cool thing about having an autistic dad whose special interest is underwater spearfishing is that when he catches fish he'll just call up a nearby chinese restaurant like "hi. i caught a fish. can you cook it and i'll bring my family by?" and they're like "yeah sure come on over white boy" and the fish is delicious.
it's worth adding that my mom is chinese and she always gets embarrassed by this. like she doesn't want to come to the restaurant with us. she doesn't want to be seen with the white man she caught plus the fish that her white man caught. everyone who works at the restaurant thinks my dad is awesome and compliments him + her for choosing him and we all find this very fun except for her.
This is the women don't love, but fish fear.

ok so, I approached my local library with a proposal to donate a mural as a way to A: build portfolio/gain practical experience and B: give back to a beloved public institution. The director was very enthusiastic about it and i've been working on it since the beginning of March. Come with me as I endeavor to paint what is in all honesty an excessive amount of birds
I wanted the birds to look like they were actually in the space so first thing after doing the draft was to do a lighting study
after that I covered the walls in letters in lieu of a projector/vr headset bc i have neither of those :) Then i take a picture of the section of wall and superimpose the lineart over top of it so I can pencil in the lines
et voila
and that was a whole week on it's own so next comes the paintin' >:)
and now, the birds
Birds 1 and 2/14: Red Winged Blackbird, Male and female, Agelaius phoeniceus
Bird 3/14, American Robin, Turdus migratorius
hoo boy, ok *out of breath*
GIVE IT UP FOR BIRD NUMBUH 5, THE CANADIAN GOOSE, Branta canadensis!!!!
this guy took me about 4 days to completely finish, all of those freakingk coverts were a bear to render
speaking of obnoxious coverts:
bird 5/14, Bluejay, Cyanocitta cristata
the friggin stripes almost got me chat, i may not make it
Madam....
birds 6 and 7: American Goldfinch, Spinus tristis, male and female
pleasantly simple to paint! next is the flickerrrrr
*melts into goo*
BIRD NUMBER 8, (yellow shafted) NORTHERN FLICKERRRRR, Colaptes auratus
genuinely made me start questioning my sanity around day 3, it's half the size the of the goose, WHY did it take me 4 days to finish??
nothing but pain and suffering, i'm sure hope the next bird will be much easier and with FAR less barring :)
in other news, I am losing my sanity hairline
Has anyone considered using a bottle opener on the rim of a glass? I've outlined some of the benefits below:
Fucks the cup up and ruins it forever
Gets glass everywhere
Breaks the glass incorrigibly
Cuts you through several potential vectors
Let me know when you've had time to review my proposal.
