Conclusion- would I do this again??? Yes!!  The boys got clothes and shoes out of my closet I nearly forgot about it and it was so much fun!!!!  I have never been one to believe completely in colors matching (are you going to tell the earth that her oceans and fields don't match?) but I do believe that only certain shirts go with certain pants- the boys broke those barriers.  And like i said before- it was liberating.  Going out in public with something your children put together gives you a little boost of confidence and just puts you in a great mood!  

Tuesday, March 17, 2015- “Boy’s, Mommy needs to wear green!”  3 year old picked- shoes (which haven't been out of my closet for years....need to bring them out more, they are wonderful!) and socks (excellent choice!!)  2 year old picked- shirt, pink cami, and jeans.  Not a bad outfit, the socks were the biggest oddity in the bunch but who cares! It’s St. Patty’s Day! 

Monday, March 16, 2015- 3 year old picked- tights and brown suede boots.  2 year old picked- blue summer dress.  I loved this one...I got several odd looks outside which seemed to only make me love it more!  Fashion makes a statement and this was a fabulous statement!  Would wear this one again!

Sunday, March 15, 2015- Actually fairly warm outside but this is what was chosen!  3 year old (who wanted to be in the photo!) picked- pink pants and grey wool lined boots.  2 year old picked- Red striped shirt, off white undershirt, and kstate scarf. My fashion sense is so wonky I’ll probably wear this one again in real life.  

Saturday, March 14, 2015- 3 year old picked- turquoise tights and zebra prints shoes. 2 year old picked- teal jacket (looks like it matched on photo but nah....not really...haha) and black romper!  This was pretty awesomely creative!  

Friday, March 13, 2015- 3 year old picked- Dress and Socks.  2 year old picked- jacket and shoes.  Thats much more like it, boys! First off I love this dress and it was a really fun outfit to go out with some friends and celebrate Spring Break just starting!  The socks with the dress were quite awesome! 

Thursday, March 12, 2015.  3 year old picked- Red shirt, ankle socks, and Purple Scarf (with red on it.)  2 year old picked- jeans and sneakers.  Although this was the only day I had to work out of the 7- I was disappointed.  The outfit was mild and because the scarf had red on it, it actually seemed to match.  I was hoping that my boys were being nice to me and warming me up to whatever was to come! 

About a month ago I saw an article on buzzfeed (http://www.buzzfeed.com/rachelzarrell/a-mom-let-her-toddler-style-her-for-a-week-and-the-results-a) about a Mother who let her toddler dress her for an entire week.  I figured, well I have 2 toddlers and since I work in the schools I have spring break coming up....so I did it...and I gotta admit, it was liberating, youthful, and entirely too much fun!!!!  

Sitting in a conference room for a training about how our food effects our mood/cognition (how's that for irony....) and it's lunch break. I'm drinking a strawberry,apple, and banana smoothie and eating a ton of fresh fruits. I kinda stick out...I'm the only one who is eating food not fried or processed in a training that focused on the health benefits/risks of our poor diet choices (again, there's irony!). Although a part of me feels somewhat arrogant about this, my head and stomach are reminding me how much I hate this. Headache and nausea present and I can't wait for bedtime. I nearly quit this morning when I thought how challenging it would be to be in a training all day and eat healthy, but alas I discovered it's possible. I applaud myself for sticking with this and not running to the chipotle nearby (which oh man smells amazing!!!) This training is making me realize how dependent upon food I am and although I don't have specific cravings, I crave for food in general! I'm constantly thinking about my next apple or blueberry....I'm not hungry it because I know how little calories are in these foods, I convincing myself that I'm starving, which I'm not. This smoothie is crazy filling!!! 1.5 days in and I'm sick of fruit! I haven't enjoyed avocado yet, so I look forward to my midday and evening meals :) I might actually do this monthly.....

I understand that the point of this fast is to restore your body/mind, allow you to process life and not focus on food, and detox your body but goodness is this a challenge, and I like it! Fruits ONLY for 3 days, diluted fruit juice at times, herbal teas (non caffeinated), tons of H2O and my favorite (which I enjoyed for lunch) tomato soup (homemade or organic.) I brought some blueberries and strawberries for my midday meal, funny calling that a meal, but with this fast you literally eat a lot and drink a lot! Kinda enjoyable really! So far I feel mildly groggy, but I know that's part of the process! I've been reading (or obsessing) about other peoples experience with this fast and am excited that I'm doing this!!! Although I look forward to eating at least one chocolate on Saturday :) moderation my friend! Don't want to make myself sick from junk after cleaning my body out :)

Week 3 wasn't my best week, with the kids being out of school my work load tripled and I didn't have a ton of time for yoga and meditation :( so I plan to really focus this week! Week 4 is all about restoration, hence the 3 day fruit cleanse/fast. I bought a ton of fruit (and fruit juice to prevent anemia) so I'm ready! Thankfully this is a fruit fast and not a vegetable one....bleh....not a fan!!!! Here's to hoping that I don't get sick tomorrow or the next day or the next day after!!! I'm excited AND scared!

Well week 2 was somewhat of a challenge and I figured this would be too but really it isn't anything I personally struggle with! So yeah for me! This week is learning to be proactive and not reactive- which is not challenging because I have pretty awesome willpower with food (i would like to thank my parents for raising me on home cooked meals and emphasizing diet with exercise) and my day job is a mental health therapist. I base majority of my practice on the concept on learning how to let go and see that in reality, we have only control of how we think/feel/behave. At one point of my life I was highly reactive, defensive, anxious, and sensitive. But now I am a pretty happy and calm(er) 30 year old with 2 amazing kids! I actually give the credit to my children for calming me down :) nothing is more real and beautiful than seeing your own child for the first time....eye opening and life changing. I knew that in order for my kids to be happy and calm, mommy needed to be :) yoga practice started out very interesting (ankle slipped and nearly rolled) but my 2 year old joined me- he even used his own mat! I'm sure my yoga practice was rushed and not exacting 45 minutes like it is supposed to be, but who cares. I was enjoying a moment with no worries, no negativity, and no stress- isn't that what these 40 days are truly about?

This week, although delicious and energizing, has been somewhat nauseating. I have enjoyed eating more fresh food and healthy food, but my stomach is not thrilled. Even someone like myself who eats healthy on a regular basis is apparently not getting enough fiber and none processed foods in my diet. I have not done yoga everyday as a result, sometimes I am just too nauseous. Meditating has been awesome! I'm seeing things more positively and carefree than before. I also feel more energized and really haven't needed coffee like before, but occasionally I have some because it's yummy. My mind is definitely more clear. But going back to the diet stuff, I guess this is prepping me for the 3 day fruit cleanse during week 4! Really so far the best part about my 40 day journey is no Facebook. I know this will be posted to Facebook (it's just connected to it) but I haven't actually logged on in 2 wks. It's AWESOME not knowing every second what someone is doing.....so when you see them you actually catch up and have a real conversation. I'm sure I'll get back on but not like I used to 10+ times a day!!!!!!!

It all starts tomorrow and I can tell it will be a challenging 7 days. The yoga goal is 30 min daily practice (no problem.) the food goal is only fresh food (I really look forward to this one!) and the meditation goal is 10 min morning and night focusing on your top ten most negative self views, and learning to let go. Although my self esteem has improved throughout the years, every once in a while the insecure and awkward 15 year old version of me creeps up. I have high expectations of myself, realistic expectations, and am extremely goal oriented. The biggest issue is that not only am I my own worst critic, I am also my own bully. So yes, this will be a tough week because let's be honest, who wants to confront their bully? I'm sure my family will laugh at the food goal and think "oh she's just doing another silly thing!" But at the same time will support me; I seriously have amazing family. So goodbye Girl Scout cookies and chicken fingers.....it's a week about learning to let go but you two will be missed!

I'm well into week one of my personal revolution and I've gotta say, daily meditation and yoga is just amazing. I actually feel asleep meditating on day 2, which let's me know just how tired my mind and body are. This past week has been a tough one, received some upsetting news that just really overwhelmed me. I'm not one, anymore, to take things too serious but sometimes something you are passionate for falls, it wears on you. I'm just very thankful for this program. It is also making me more aware of what I put into my body. I've limited all processed stuff, sugars, and overall bad stuff but I haven't eliminated it just yet. It's all a process; eventually I can see myself as vegan. I'm discovering more and more that I'm a bit if a food snob, which I guess is a good thing because I want to live long and be healthy. Another element to my 40 days, is no Facebook. It's not about cutting out people who are amazing and who I love, but cutting out negativity and really learning to be away from something with a screen checking on what my family and friends are fling literally at that moment, and doing what's more important. And that's just living....and being in the present and not focusing on anyone it anything else.....
