Prom had been on everyone’s mind for weeks. Students were quick to find dates, group up with friends, excitedly plan outfits — it was something nearly everybody at Bullworth was looking forward to.

When Saturday came, those who planned to attend prepared for the evening; whether that be by meticulously grooming and donning themselves in the nicest clothes, or by throwing something on and calling it a day. By 7:00, students began arriving at the venue..

Surprisingly, for Bullworth Academy standards, the location wasn’t bad. It was a miracle they even had a venue this year, they wouldn’t have to cram into the gym thanks to their class president.. The place was just a bit out of town, decorated for the occasion. Sure, a few aspects seemed a little slummy.. The building itself could use some updates, and the food inside on the tables was certainly cheap and mediocre, but overall it was fitting for a cheesy little high school prom.

Knowing Bullworth, there was bound to be enough fighting and drama to keep everyone entertained. How the rest of the night would go all depended on the students…

Maielis stood quietly near the bathrooms, scanning the packed room for Kris. It was quite difficult to catch a glimpse of her in the crowd. Finally, he spotted her standing by the drink table and took this as his chance to approach her, noticing she was currently alone. He squeezed through the crowd of students and managed to reach her. Upon seeing her appearance, he didn't hesitate to compliment her.

“Wow— you look absolutely stunning tonight…Casey is one lucky guy, huh? So uh…How do I look?”

I looked slightly surprised at the sight of Maielis suddenly appearing in front of me. I look around the room quickly, making sure the coast is clear. After seeing that nobody was watching us, I give Maielis a short and welcoming hug. Throwing him a small smile.

"You look amazing…I thought you weren’t coming tonight. Did you change your mind last second?"

Maielis was quick to hug Kris back. He hoped to god that nobody saw them as he was already on thin ice with Kris’ boyfriend.

“I mean..I wasn’t going to come originally. I just wanted to see you…maybe hangout for a bit…?”

I pull away from the hug after a few good seconds, now standing in front of Maielis awkwardly.

"I guess we could hangout. Sooo…were you able to get a date tonight?"

Maielis leaned on the drink table casually, crossing his arms over his chest as he stared down at her. Holding back on speaking for a moment.

“…Obviously not. Looks like somebody snagged my dream date before I could. Anyway, wanna go out after this? Just friendly bonding time. Maybe a few drinks…”

"I guess I got time for a few drinks after this. The ones right here don’t look very promising. And uh…sorry about ya’ date…I guess? I hope you don’t hold a grudge against my boyfriend for that."
