which kris character's death upset you the most? Did any of them take you by surprise? Did any of them deserve it?
TW: SCHOOL SCH**TING, SU*C*DE, M*RDER
This is a great question! Sorry for the delay, I was trying to create a timeline of his characters deaths.
1) ExistenZ (1999)
ExistenZ follows a game designer, Allegra Geller, who creates a revolutionary virtual reality game. When players start experiencing the game as real life, Allegra and a security guard, Ted, must navigate a confusing world where itās impossible to tell whatās real and whatās part of the game. Krisās character plays a small but crucial role during the demonstration of the game ExistenZ, his character invades the game and kills the gameās creator.
Did you expect it, or was it a surprise? I donāt even have a formed opinion since his role is quite brief.
Did he deserve it? I think I donāt have a formed opinion either, but his death was a catalyst for the start of the events in the movie. He needed to die for the film to happen.
Did it upset you? It didnāt upset me because it needed to happen for the movie to move forward.
2) Ginger Snaps (2000)
Ginger Snaps follows two teenage sisters, Ginger and Brigitte, who are obsessed with death. After Ginger is bitten by a werewolf, she begins transforming into a creature, and Brigitte must try to save her sister while dealing with the dark changes in Gingerās personality and their violent new reality. Kris Lemche plays Sam, a high school student who gets caught up in the chaos surrounding Gingerās transformation.
Did you expect it, or was it a surprise:? 50/50, I suspected that Ginger might make a new victim at the end of the movie.
Did he deserve it? NO ššš I love his character in this movie š bring Sam back!!!
Did it upset you? Yes, it really upset me š It was in this one that I got the most upset.
3) Knockaround Guys (2001)
The plot follows four sons of Brooklyn mobsters who have to recover a lost bag of money in a small town in Montana, ruled by a corrupt sheriff. Lemche plays Decker, one of the four main characters. Although there isnāt a scene showing Deckerās death, what happens to him is clear from the summary of the filmās climax. During the final shootout, it is explicitly stated that āeveryone except Taylor, Matty, and Teddy is killed.ā Since Decker is not among the three survivors, we can conclude that he dies.
Did you expect it, or was it a surprise? Yes, kinda expected because he was involved in a dangerous world.
Did he deserve it? I donāt know, I really donāt care about this movie š
Did it upset you? No.
4) My Little Eye (2002)
One thing I found out about this movie is that it was one of the first in the found-footage genre, which is pretty interesting. The film follows five contestants in a live-streamed reality show who are systematically terrorized. Kris plays Rex, one of the contestants, who stands out as the most skeptical and analytical member of the group.
Did you expect it, or was it a surprise? For me, it was a surprise, since I didnāt expect the main characters to be eliminated so brutally. Heās also the most skeptical and rational of the group, which made me think he would be one of the few (or the only one) to survive. This shows that no character is safe, not even the most rational ones.
Did he deserve it? NO šš I really liked his character. š
Did it upset you? Yes, it upset me, I wanted him to survive until the end.
5) Final Destination 3 (2006)
Kris Lemche plays Ian McKinley, a high school student who survives a deadly roller coaster accident, only to find himself caught in Deathās design.
Did you expect it or it was a surprise? Yes, I expected, of course.
Did he deserve it? Of course not, he didnāt. I think heās often misinterpreted as arrogant and annoying, but thatās just a response to the huge external trauma and the post-traumatic stress of seeing his girlfriend and friends die. Iāve never seen him as a bad person.
Did it upset you? Yes š but I was obviously already expecting him to die.
6) Stateās Evidence (2006)
A group of friends decide to commit a mass suicide and film their acts before the day. Kris plays a racist, violent, abusive teenager who carries out a school massacre at the end of the movie. Itās one of the worst films Iāve ever seen in my life.
Did you expect it, or was it a surprise? Yes, I expected it.
Did he deserve it? He kills himself after carrying out a school massacre, so yes, he deserved it (even though he brought about his own death).
Did it upset you? What upset me was that I wasted my time watching that awful movie.
7) 24: Redemption (2008)
Kris Lemche plays Chris Whitley, a stockbroker who accidentally uncovers a conspiracy involving the U.S. government and a military coup in the fictional African nation of Sangala. While trying to warn the elected presidentās son, Roger Taylor, Whitley is hunted down and killed by Jonas Hodgesā henchmen, with his death staged as a suicide.
Did you expect it, or was it a surprise? I didnāt expect a secondary character to die so quickly, even though Whitleyās death is significant to the plot, as it shows the extent of the conspiracy and how far the people involved are willing to go to eliminate any threat.
Did he deserve it? Considering that Whitley had no intention of getting involved in criminal activities and was a victim of circumstances beyond his control, I wouldnāt say he deserved to die in the story.
Did it upset you? A little.
8) Ghost Whisperer (2007)
Season: 07, Episodes: 01, 02, 05
Kris Lemche plays Scott, a vengeful spirit who haunts the records office in the town of Grandview. His death occurs in a fire caused by a gas explosion, and he mistakenly believes that Melinda Gordon, the protagonist, is responsible for his death.
Did you expect it, or was it a surprise? He already appears as dead in the story, but he didnāt deserve it.
Did he deserve it? No š His death was the result of a tragic accident, a gas explosion that caused a fire. He didnāt commit any moral wrongdoing or crime, on the contrary, he was a victim of the circumstances.
Did it upset you? Not because he was already dead before the events of the series, but he seemed like a great person before he died, so, yes.
9) The Frankenstein Theory (2013)
Kris Lemche plays Professor Jonathan Venkenheim, a young scholar convinced heās descended from the scientist who inspired Mary Shelleyās Frankenstein. He leads a film crew to the Arctic Circle to find the creature his ancestor supposedly created.
Did you expect it, or was it a surprise? Yes, for me, Jonathanās death was a surprise. Although he was in constant danger because of the creature, his death happens unexpectedly, especially considering his central role in the story.
Did he deserve it? I really donāt know, even though his death is the result of his obsession and impulsive decisions. He ignored his teamās warnings and kept pursuing his quest, putting everyone at risk.
Did it upset you? No, because he was already taking the risk of doing something so dangerous.
END
Thank you so much for your question, sweetheart š If you have more questions, Iām here to answer them (I love doing it).
Favourite kris lemche kiss? (Very important question)
With me, lmao just joking. I think it was the kiss with Johnny in the movie of the same name in 1999, it was so passionate. I LOVE his character in that film. Kris Lemcheās character is charismatic, intense, and really relatable. He has this mix of vulnerability and confidence that makes you root for him the whole time, and his emotions feel so genuine and raw. Heās the kind of character you canāt help but care about and remember long after the movie ends.
Thank you for the question, sweetheart š
